It's a pretty common Norcold gas.AC electric but the exterior seems to be part of the trailer. Trailer is 03 with salvage title... not a virgin. Most things I touch end up with destruction & complete replacement. I'll open the outside hatch & look up! It might be possible to use muffin (computer) fans.

John, Really interested in the refridge exhaust fan... I don't think mu fridge is coming out without cutting cabinets... but where there's a will there's a way. Maybe fans or different fans might be fitted elsewhere. Pictures would be a great help.

Aggravated Compass and Mileage Computer
I think the pump you bought is a good one. I run an XZT+... and normally run in the +35 setting which gives the same timing as you got built in & gives better MPG & slightly better performance. When towing on hills I occasionally kick in the +70 hp setting but 99% of the time... no. So you did well. And you got a new computer, not some used one with who knows how many heat cycles on it.

OK. I think I read that exhaust manifolds are prone to cracking. Maybe someone with more knowledge will chime in here.

I don't think you mean "exhaust manifold"... Possibly Exhaust system? When my stock tail pipe rotted out & removed the banging part before it could jam & do damage... I just kept running it... the muffler was intact. Until the whole rear of the muffler fell off. So I was determined to not have that happen again.I bought a SS kit off ebay... 4" turbo back. (Stock is 3.5" into 3" after the muffler.) The straight through muffler in the kit was fine until I hooked up a trailer. Most recently I added a SS FTE (4" x 36") spiral resonator. I wish I'd bought the resonator in the first place. Nice sound but not bad towing.

When stock my overhead was spot on the MPG figured by hand. Then I put the XZT on & it wasn't anymore. Then the clearance lights leaked water into it & now it's dead.

Replacing typical cheap oval running lights on RV...
I looked over SuperBright LEDs again... but the added cost of the pigtails bumps the price up & I looked at a take over OEM cheap oval which has a ground through a mounting screw. So I'm still looking at LED clearance lights to surface mount on the camper body. I prefer a sealed unit.

Replacing typical cheap oval running lights on RV...
I'm planning to get some needed work done on the Toyhauler. There has been leakage in the front compartments & the interior walls in the front compartment seem to have wet through. I found a local business who rolls out a liquid rubber roof... after reseating roof fixtures. Aofter 4th of July, it's going in.At the same time, I'm wanting to replace the faded (& possibly leaking) running lights with new, preferably LED. I have to disassemble one & see what the hole spacing is. I'd like to put low edge turn lights on also. There's a good access point in a trailer plug in the rear for a (now gone) rear platform that had lights... but an easy tap point for low edge lights.

4" Exhaust
I bought a kit off Ebay some time ago... had hangers welded on. Muffler was a straight through glass pack... legal but not quieting IMHO. If I'd bought the FTE spiral resonator the first time could have deleted the muffler & been ahead of the game.

tow mirrors
I had already gotten a used switch off ebay, some time ago. Figured I needed this upgrade but it stalled... until, spurred by having the glass pop out during adjustment, I went for it. This afternoon the mirrors arrived from AM-Autoparts... darn quick service! I've been trying to figure out how to disassemble the used switch! I couldn't seem to figure it out. Am I stupid or what? I Googled it & did a lot of reading... finally, someone hinted the knob pulls straight off. I put the switch in a padded vise, & gave it a moderate tug & the knob was in my hand! So there you have it.

tow mirrors
I just ordered a PAIR of Power Heated replacement tow mirrors from AM-AutoParts.com $212.85 with free shipping for my 01.5 Might as well replace both. I think the OEM manual tow mirror (drivers side) can be repaired but I had so much trouble adjusting them, it's worth it to get the power. I don't know how to wire the heated feature but it's seldom an issue in my area.

Vehicle Accident
My little quarter horse weighed 1000#... far heavier than a deer... maybe if folks realized their precious auto will SERIOUSLY damaged or TOTALED they be more careful. She might indeed have been injured in such a crash. Colliding with a horse will undoubtedly break his leg & anything short of a million dollar stud will result in the horse being put down if still alive. Perhaps better the horses didn't survive. We always went to great lengths to keep our horses at home.

Vehicle Accident
Ditto on the opposing lane being no option. 25 years ago, I was driving my boss's 4 banger S10 between the 2 locations... Raining lightly, traffic stacked up in front of me, guy waiting for opposing traffic so he could make a left turn... I was quickly running out of room, was going to hit somebody. I tried the right shoulder & when I cut it back, the back end came around sideways. I slid that truck neatly up the end of a buried guardrail on the frame like a balanced see-saw. A tow truck winched it down (for all the cash in my wallet) & I continued on my way. Meanwhile boss's brother had driven by to see the truck perched there but didn't stop. I get back & boss said, I meant to tell you the brakes are touchy!!

Towing Mirrors
I have OEM manual tow mirrors. We drove outbound with the mirrors folded & so-so visibility around the camper. I meant to open them up. Ooops! So before we started back, I had the wife open them up & adjust them so I could see. The driver's side big glass popped right out in her hands. Several double sided tape mounts & dots of what appears to be clear silicone. She did an emergency duct tape repair mount... I didn't like how she did it & sure enough it was soon wiggling all around... at least the glass made it home. The cop never mentioned it & neither did I. I guess it's time to buy the powered mirrors.

Oppps, Crunch!!
Our camping trip was flooded out. Army kicked us out. (USArmy Corps of Engineers, flood control area. Heavy rains, backs up water behind a dam, protecting downstream cities... upstream is a recreation area... weather & water level permitting.) So we were all packed with nowhere to go... so we went on an adventure. A night visiting with In Laws in NH, drove to Rome (NY) to visit my brother, left trailer there. Used wife's car to see the Erie Canal's historic 5 step locks in Lockport, & watch boats locking through the 2 modern locks. Then on to Niagara Falls... I was exhausted (MS) & let wife hike out to get more views. Overnight in a Hotel. Rainy day (originally planned to see Falls) drove back to Rome. Laid over 1 day for more visit. Then departed for home. This Tahoe trailer is like towing a bill board & quite a handful. I ran the NY Thruway fine, even some narrow construction lanes. Had some trouble with the suction of overtaking trailer trucks pulling my rig into their lane... out bound a passing on the right tractor Trailer nearly got me.Then I pulled into the first Service Area on Mass Turnpike. I got into the wrong parking with cars & narrow lanes... when I tried to wiggle out I misjudged & hooked a parked car with the trailer. The Chevy Impala was lower & went under the trailer body until the frame piece in front of the trailer wheels where it crunched. I heard it more than felt it. So while we were waiting for the Mass Troopers, I decided that trying to separate them by moving either vehicle would damage his car more. We had a 30T china jack on board & jacked up the trailer enough for him to back out without making a bad situation worse. The other driver was in the middle of a trip, decided on having it towed & getting a rental. The nice trooper handled it & the other driver who was quite unhappy. Not that I blame him.So I have a ruined vacation. I spent this morning with the insurances & reports.

Beating a dead horse?
Standard TP from the house... nothing HD. We keep a SS covered pail for disposing of baby wipes & sanitary products.

Blend door in hvac box is stuck
You say "stuck". Just to be clear, It's not stuck on defrost is it? Can you move the blend door by hand? Did you disassemble the unit with the stepper motor? If so did you reinstall the unmarked motor correctly? Did you reset the gears according to the directions? I was cussing the thing before I got mine working. Do you have mice? Drop the heater motor & check for a nest. If so stuff SS Steel wool (pot scrubber) behind the hood hinges where the cowl drain is... Water will drain through the Steel Wool but mice can't get in.

Modifying exhaust and intake means more HP, what about MPG's?
Resonator from FTE diesel http://www.ftediesel.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=7 Thread on CF: http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/3rd-gen-performance-parts-discussion/426911-2006-5-9-air-intake.html The Second Gens need a bigger AF... yours does not. And is already a CAI. You'll not see any HP or MPG gains. The best thing you can do is find a mild chip or box to fool the timing. Even an Edge EZ or Econo box. My Quadzilla XZT+ (now out of business) I run on Econo mode (only timing) & pick up a mpg.

5.9 blowing oil
I believe by 06, the vacuum pump was off engine electric operation... (only earlier, vacuum pump seal failure could pressurize the crankcase).Blowing oil out... Usual causes of crankcase pressure... blowby, failed piston... head gasket... How's the oil look? Any water contamination? For that matter how's the coolant, color, condition, bubbles?

Someone needs to straighten these people out
TCW3 spec oil has been specified by all outboard makers I'm aware of... since I was in the Marina business in the 1990s.

The axles are roughly 2/3 the way back. I'm pretty sure I'm exceeding the WDH capability of 1,000. My mobility scooter only weighs 325#. There are tie downs for 3 ATVs. Even if 2 would be 1400# so there's the 1000 right there. The water shift is ~400#. We didn't go by a scale on the return home last trip. In fact an earlier trip on the NY Thruway we were able to dump tanks before the return from City of Rome... and it towed reasonably. So I'm back to the weight shift.
-
Someone needs to straighten these people out
Most of my TCW3 has been Supertech... premeasured into quart containers carried in my door pockets. About 3/4 full is right for my normal fill ups... air space in the quart bottles prevents leaking when dented in by the door pocket lip.

Diesel fuel ...or not
Some people do not deserve a Cummins even if they have the bucks to buy one.
