  1. I'm doing the severe duty interval of 7500 miles
  2. Wanna sell the other one?
  3. Welcome to the family
  4. You should be back now. I've always wanted to go to New Zealand by way of Cook Island.
  5. It's been my lifes experiance that if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any. I've also noticed that if I am perpared for a situation, it will never arise. So this time around my prepardness, let me down. But my bad luck saved the day!!!!!!!!!!!! --- Update to the previous post... Warranty rep. is sending the dealer a starter. If that doesn't fix the problem then they will authorize a TIPM replacement. Was also noted that the truck had, had no mods, and had a current ECM download. So that hurdle is jumped, now I have to wait. Update------------------- TIPM is bad and will need to be replaced so warranty co. is sending Dodge a new one. All OEM parts, just purchased at a discount direct.
  6. Dang, Mike. I'm currently paying $3.76 9/10 for B5-20 at wally world. Cash or gift card.
  7. That looks like a heck of a deal. $69.95 on sale
  8. My first thought would be, that using the gage to declare an increase in milage is faulty. It should be used as a reference tool only. Especially if it is like the gage on the Harley. At key on, the float reads where it is in relation to it's calibrated range of motion. It does not take the vehicals nose up / nose down attitude in to consideration. Nor does it measure how far above the full calibration point that you filled the tank to. At fill up if fuel is pumping at for example 5gpm the nozzle will signal full, faster than say 2gpm, because the air in the tank can escape easier, there by allowing you to put more fuel in the tank, than you normally would.
  9. According to the tech I talked to he has seen the starter go bad and take out the TIPM, and visa versa. He also told me he had put 12v to the starter direct and it did not spin. In any event the warranty co. rep. should be there today, to make sure "we" are not being taken for a ride. They're just pissed that, I gambled and they lost. For the next 7yrs and 65k miles my extended warranty will have me at a net loss of only $300. So if anything else Major goes wrong, I will have a virtual net gain in income.
  10. You got that right, I have a $300 deductable, so OEM it will be. Law says they cannot sub, if owner demands new OEM replacment parts.
  11. Did some checking and a new starter from Dodge is $955. Rebuilds for an auto parts house are $129.
  12. Hey it's a Dodge dealer. Prices are supposed to be high.
  13. Dodge says TIPM and starter, extended warranty co. says oh damn we'll have to inspect that first. $955 for a starter and $822 for TIPM plus three hours labor, and of course the rental car.
  14. At this point transmission ecm thinks it's in third gear, so no neutral safety switch is seen. There for no cranky, is my guess.
  15. Headed for the tractor pulls, and the trailer brakes wouldn't release after engaging them. So I pulled over and started checking everything. Couldn't find anything, so I thought lets shut it down and see what happens after restart. Turn the key nothing, have lights, gages, she just wouldn't do anything. Buddy came to jump me off, still nothing. So I call the wrecker, get unhooked from the trailer, tow it to the Dodge dealer, they put the scanner on it and no codes, they do some more checking and the ECM in the transmission thinks, the truck is in third gear.Do some more checking and the scanner sees the shifter changing gears when you move it. What the heck happened?
  16. That be my first full restoration. Took her down to the bare casings except rear end. Took 6 yrs, and 6k, not counting my time. I have 2 more Ag Deeres of similar vintage and a lawn tractor. Plus the Case pulling tractor which will hopefully get to go to the first pull of the year.
  17. I'm not stirring, just stating what the artical said.

    Welcome to the family
  19. It doesn't call in to question the 2cyl. oil. It just goes on to say that Cetane boosters are a good thing.
  20. Manage a Specialty Tool & Die shop.
  21. Here's a link that I talked about earlier about the refiners adding lubricity to ULSD Unfortunatly it arques against the notion that cetane boosters are bad. http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/ford/0911dp_fuel_additive_test/viewall.html
  22. Congrats on the litter. If I done that at my house we'd still have them all cause swltbo wouldn't want to sell them. :banghead:
