1. I just had beer come out my nose when I read that. Thanks, it's been a long day and I needed a good laugh.
2. Try here. http://www.compactractorparts.com/searchpro/index.php?q=ch19231&search=Search http://www.farmlandtractor.com/Rebuilt_Left_Hand_Front_Final_Drive_p/ch13926.htm fredricksequipment.com/.../John Deere Catalog.doc (Page 25)
3. The cost of the Amsoil 2 cycle is the only thing stopping me from using it in the truck. The cheap TC-W3 seems to do the trick. The Amsoil products I have in my oil rooms are:15w-40 diesel and marinesaber pro75w-140 severe gearatf5w-30 hydrowater resistant greasepropylene glycol antifreezeAudubon is very happy about our use of synthetics as well as the many other over the top things we have done to exceed the guidelines.
4. I'm using the Walmart oil in the truck as well. Amsoil at work. We are an Audubon Certified Signature Sanctuary and the Saber Pro burns cleaner than most other oils and the Audubon people are very happy about that. What does JMNTBHO mean? That's a new one to me.
5. I use the Saber Pro 2 cycle oil here and we rarely have a fouled plug. Now if we could just get rid of the ethanol in the gas we would be in good shape. We have to close all the plug gaps slightly for a hotter burn to keep those deposits from building up.
6. I don't sell Amsoil. Sometime around 1990 a salesman stopped into my shop and offered free sampling for a year if I bought a drum of oil. I needed oil and had the money in my budget so I bought a drum and started sampling everything in my fleet. I tripled the drain interval and after most of the sample reports came back, I was able to just change the filters and top off the oil. Sure, the oil costs more upfront but I save in the end because many times the oil can be used beyond it's payback point. I also save money in labor because I spend less time changing oil. There is also an environmental benefit as well. Producing less waste oil is a good thing.
7. Preaching to the choir my friend. I've bet my job on Amsoil for 20 + years now. Not a single oil related failure to date.
8. Great news. I'm sure the pros here will chime in and have the bugs worked out quickly. Don't forget to change your signature when your done.
9. Well, I filled up on the way home today and the math says I got 16.85 MPG out of this tank. That's around 2 MPG better than most tanks over the last 6 months. I guess I'm keeping the EZ on level 3.
10. X2. Thank you very much for your service.
11. That's not good. Did the insurance company total it?
12. Maybe this will save someone here some trouble. I have an A.R.E contractor cap on the truck and have never been able to get the third brake light to work without it flashing when a turn signal was turned on. I finally called a different dealer and the Tech knew exactly what I needed to know. In the main harness that feeds the tail of the truck, drivers side by the spare tire, there is a wire with a tag labeled "CHMSL" that is either white/orange or white/tan.
13. I think I read that there is an adapter harness for that connection.
14. My bad. I just noticed that this is in 3rd gen. I have the 2001 manual and have seen some testing info there.
15. Welcome aboard.
16. There are service manuals under the download tab at the top of the page. All the info should be in there.
17. Don't know if these are good prices but might be worth a look. http://www.partsgeek.com/catalog/1996/dodge/ram_1500/fuel_delivery/fuel_pump.html
18. I'd love to get a scan gauge and some injectors too but trying to convince "The Warden" has been difficult.:banghead: We're buying a house with a shop, should close soon, and every dime counts. I've even explained that we will be saving money with these new parts and will no longer have to pay rent on the shop I have now. All she's thinking is a new fridge, carpet, paint, bunk beds for the girls, and so on, and so on, and so on. Diesel is $4.39 here right now.
19. No scan gauge yet. Just using a calculator.
20. I'll do the math in a few days when I fill up again. Averaging 14.7 to 15.5 this winter. I always fill to the same level in the filler neck at the same pump facing in the same direction. Every tank worked out the same all winter long. When the fuel needle is dead center of the half tank mark the trip meter would be within just a few miles of 250. Last night when I hit the half tank mark I was at 290.
21. I've read that most folks statistically lose out on the extended warranties. Glad to hear it's working in your favor.
22. At my last fill up I decided to set the EZ on level 3 just for the hell of it. I've had it on the truck for years and my MPG's would always drop on level 3 and I'm confident my driving style hasn't changed. I got 40 more miles off the top half of this tank than I did the last one. I don't know if the fuel station recently switched back to summer blend yet or what happened. Any thoughts on this?
23. Any chance one of these will work? http://www.summitracing.com/search/?keyword=coil spring cups&dds=1
24. I had a similar noise start last year. Would only rattle in gear and at certain RPM's. Found a baffle in the muffler came loose.
25. I'm no chemist but I try to read everything I can about safety with this type of thing. We occasionally have to weld on our spray rigs and respirators and fans are mandatory as per my shop rules. I always have the Techs pressure wash the area first. These machines have fungicide, herbicide, insecticide, growth regulators, fertilizer, and who knows what else on them. From what I've read, some of these compounds can change their form when heated and go from very bad to much worse.
