Who's Burning???
Thanks. Just picked up the splitter over the summer. Paid $100 for it and modified it to suit my needs. Right around $200 total into it now.

Who's Burning???
Been cool enough at night for a few fires here but decided against it. I did burn some paper to run any bees or wasps out of the chimney before I cleaned it. None in there but better safe than sorry. Got the wood split and stacked and other than needing to put some new door gaskets on the stove, I think we're good to go.

ATV issue...
Any chance it's just revving higher after the work was done and now it's working against the rev limiter? If it has a rev limiter.

Try searching cost of living calculators. Much of the info you're looking for will be linked to most of the sites you find.

wally is sold out... what next?
The local Walmart is always out of it around here with all the snowmobiles and boaters using it. I talked to the manager and she orders a case at a time for me and saves it. Might be worth asking about it.

Rocket Stove/Rocket Heater.. Anyone built one of these before?
Thought about it myself. Kinda interesting how it works. Just not convinced of the efficiency yet. http://www.richsoil.com/rocket-stove-mass-heater.jsp

Good and bad experience with Cooper tires
That's great that they took care of you. This does have me wondering about how old the tires were before you got them. They may have sat on a shelf for quite a while before you got them and that's how they were able to warranty them. I learned this the hard way and got stuck with the full replacement cost. :banghead: Take a look at this link. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=11

Tire Update
Just put a set of AT3's on a few months ago. The truck plows snow like a tank and no noticeable mileage difference from the Falken pizza cutter tires they replaced. Happy with the purchase so far.

Expecting to be snowed in...
Hope you get the backhoe running. Might have to plow every few hours to keep up with this one with the ATV. Expecting 12" + here unless the lake effect snow kicks in and then who knows what we'll get. My two choices are truck or garden tractor and even though the tractor can handle the predicted 12" it won't be my first choice for this storm. Guns.....
I've been a gun owner since I was a kid and always said that I wouldn't care to give up my right to own them. I still don't want to give up the right but I do think something needs to be done to protect children and everyone else that needs protecting. I have no idea what the right answer is. I do believe that these crimes are committed by the person and not the gun. http://search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=Aq4pB3FaW7dpUcXEWAMpjM2bvZx4?fr=yfp-t-701-s&toggle=1&cop=mss&ei=UTF-8&p=spoons%20made%20me%20fat%20picture

Chainsaw options
A tip that will help slightly when hand filing saw chains is to clamp the bar in a vice so the chain will spin freely around the bar without the chain hitting the jaws. Pivot the vice to a comfortable angle so you can use your dominant hand and file each tooth the same number of times. Pivot the vice again to do the other side of the chain at a comfortable angle with your dominant hand. Same number of file strokes per tooth. I have all of the Stihl service manuals if anyone is in need.

Chainsaw options
Sometimes a burr on the bar will cause a curved cut. The edge of the bar that the bottom of the chain rides on will burr outward. If you run your fingernail down the side of the bar toward the edge where the chain rides and feel catch on the edge then it can be filed down and the issue should go away. Try not to remove any more metal than necessary and do both sides of the bar, top and bottom. I try to flip bars often to even out the wear and make them last longer.

HVAC box removal
The only thing I would have done different is, if I had the money, I would have replaced both the heat and AC at the same time. I really don't like this job.

HVAC box removal
Just replaced my heater core this past weekend. Took around 8 hours to complete but at least I didn't have to split the heater box like last time when the AC evaporator went.

Pillar Pod Guage lighting
It's been a while but I'm fairly sure it would not be the black wire.

Pillar Pod Guage lighting
I tied into the wire for the ashtray light with a scotch lock. Very easy to get to. I hate scotch locks but in a dry cab I haven't seen any issues.
