my2001 has 150k on it with no fouled radiator. I just extended the blow pipe down further with 3/4 in emt elect conduit. In CA any mod to pcv will not pass smog every 2 yrs. I tow 12,00lbs.

just wondering does the smaller diameter cpvc pipe affect the functioning of the vent? cpvc is the only thing I can find around here! its things like this that makes me some times, really hate were I live.

Well don't tell anyone( not lookin for more work ) but I've been a plumbing contractor for twenty years and cpvc is better than PVC. Better than that is copper, brass, stainless. Since we aren't building a piano though I just use 5/8 hydrolic hose. If it collapses than your truck is already on fire for some other reason.5/8 heater hose will work too. Just gear clamp and go.

I haven't done it and I'm not going to. I just extended it down to the sway bar with some heater hose. It's been that way for 5 years and the hose is still holding up like it's new. It's never frozen up and I haven't ever had an oil loss either. I just don't like the look of PVC running across my engine.

My design is for the offroad application where I climb steep grades and come back down them. So the pipe over the back is not required but sure works in keeping the oil in the crankcase when descending steep grades or mountain slopes like I do with getting firewood.

I understand. I would definitely do it if there was a different way of doing it.

Awesome guys! I know I have this mod in my signature already! lol I was just updating it and figured I'm doing this mod asap so mine as well put it in now!

There is another way. I've been told if you can get your fingers on a 12V tappet cover you could change covers and then never worry again.

I suppose I could do that whenever I replace my VP and reseal the vacuum pump. Does that eliminate the front cover breather then?

this mod saved my engine a few time on steep downhills up here in the rockies offroading. before i did the mod i lost a gallon of oil on a 30-35 deg or greater downslope. luckily my edge alarmed and i shutdown before damage.if you offroad and do steep descents i highly recommend the mod

Replumbed mine just like MoparMan's but in nice shiny copper with a piece of 5/8 heater hose dropping down to bottom of frame rail. Just used what I had lying around. Which is a lot of sh#% I mean stuff....

I'd like to see pictures of this. Another thought it since its copper you could have it plated or chromed...

I don't have photos, but I did a similar mod to Mikes, with 3/4 heater hose, and it seems to be working. It's routed higher than the valve cover and runs down the drivers wheel well to remain clear of the fan.
