  1. Started by LifeRunner,

Hey all! I've already made a few posts, but it's never too late to introduce myself, methinks. I've been successfully breathing consecutively now for 22 years, and somehow figured that the right way to go in life was to become a mechanic, specializing on construction equipment, like wheel loaders and such. I wanted a 2nd gen Dodge for years, but couldn't allow myself to get one due to Northern rural Norway being a crappy place to commute in, hills, turns and stuff, but I started my own company two years ago, and finally, about six months back, I sold off my 2014 Nissan Navara D40 and bought a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Sport (with an R/T badge in the grille), a Canad…

Bought this truck used to pull a 5th wheel travel trailer. When I first drove it (w/73K miles on it) I was so impressed with its power I thought it might actually leap into the air ! I have had some dead pedal over the last few years and now, w/150K on it, I need a new VP44. Rats! I will be able to save some money by doing the work myself. I retired as an ASE Master Tech from the Dodge dealer I bought this from. I am wondering if I should canvas all the listed shops w/815 test rigs, or just get a pump from someone like Thorobread Diesel in KY ?? Also, somewhere along the line a dealer upgraded (?) my lift pump by installing a pump in the tank. I would very muc…

Hi there I am a newish owner of a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 diesel and I have been doing a crash course in diesel trucks for the past year. Before this I had no experience with any vehicles whatsover so it has been a very steep learning curve. My truck has a number of problems that I have been slowly troubleshooting and fixing. It has been a frustrating journey but I am determined to understand my beast. I am very uncomfortable asking online questions but I am getting better. Please go easy on me and remember that the only stupid question is the one you don't ask. Lol I have at least one question for you all today and I pray you can help. Thanks Cheri

My name is Scott, I have a problem...... I am addicted to my 2 Cummins trucks.... I have a ‘71 F250 that I swapped a ‘94 Cummins and 47rh into and I love it. My bride has a ‘96 3500 47re that I have a love/hate relationship with. When the Diodes aren’t fried in the alternator and it shifts correctly I love it. I just finished deleting the CAD axle shaft and put locking hubs on it.

Hello all. Just joined the forum and am looking forward to making some friends. I have known about the forum for a long time but just recently bought my 99 Ram 2500. I’ve been a Diesel and a Mopar guy for as long as I can remember and even have a Bachelors degree in Diesel and Heavy Equipment. I’m also fortunate to have a career in an industry I’m passionate about. I live in Arlington but work everywhere from here west to Fort Stockton and north to the Red River. I was intending on keeping the truck stock and just cleaning it up, however I spent the weekend at a NHRDA event and got the bug. A good friend and colleague of mine had been trying to convince me to build i…

  7. Started by automater,

Howdy folks, I recently purchased an 01' 2500 SLT that's in absolutely immaculate condition. It's a Long bed with 3.54 gears, and it's 100% original minus a modest lift, aftermarket set of 16" wheels, 275/75/16 rubber, a raptor 150 lift pump and a nice set of mirrors. It's Black/Tan leather with chrome rocker panels. With 123k on it, its just getting broken in and I plan on driving it forever. This is my first diesel, first turbocharged vehicle, and first dodge. I've had it just over a month now and I've already got big plans. Top tier include a complete fluid change which is mostly done already, repairing the drivers side seat heater, and fixing a small chip…

Hey everyone, Glad to be here. Looking to get back in touch with everyone since the smarty forum went belly up. I see a bunch of those folks are here and also seeing some of them at the new site https://www.smartysupport.com Looking forward to picking each other's brains some more.

Hey guys, I wouldn't say I'm not too "new" but this is my first post. My name's Curtis and I live in the Charlotte area of North Carolina. My truck is a 2002 24v auto. At 239k miles, my truck definitely has some developed character. I'm still learning all the quirks and nuances that comes from third-hand ownership and many miles. The end goal is a beasty daily sleeper. My most immediate concern is getting my fuel pressure up. I just installed some glowshift gauges and my FP is 6.5psi at idle and 3-4psi at a steady 2k rpm. I plan to put the stock banjo bolt back in and check to make sure its not the glowshift sensor. Anywho, I'll be seeing you.

Let me re-introduce myself, my name is Jason, live in SO CO, have had my truck since April 1, 2001, it was manufactured March 17, 2001. All the mods in my signature. Just glad to be back on the forums again. A few things have happened medically wise, now have a bit more time for this.

  13. Started by 98whitelightnin,

I sold my 2012 Ram back in February and have regretted it since. As much as I liked the newer truck with all the luxuries and power, I really missed my old second gens more than anything. Hopefully I will be bringing home a new to me 98 12v tomorrow. It’s a longbed 4wd 5 speed. Thanks to Mike for keeping this great site up and running for all of us all these years!

Good morning! Glad to be on this forum. I've owned my 5.9 for two years now. I have been reading on here off and on for quite a while. Seems that there is a lot of useful info here backed up with facts not guesswork. I'm looking to upgrade to a Quadzilla Adrenaline(V2) in the near future and would appreciatte all the help I can get. Hopefully I can provide some some useful info through my upgrading process. I would prefer good, clean power out of my Dodge as I use it for pulling, without complicating things under the hood too much. Thanks for all the help up front.

  16. I want to congratulate and thank mainly the father of the Smurfs haha Mr. Mopar1973man for his great help and dedication to this place I think I am not the only one who has found solutions to the problems that our vans may have but the most valuable thing for me is the time that I could save myself in leaving my truck in the workshop since I depend on having it in perfect condition for the sustenance of my family and consequently time saved is equal to not losing money having to have the truck in the workshop so help for the maintenance of the page is more than fair I invite you all to appreciate the content so complete that there is here helping with what they can, I bel…

I have been on other forums for years. I am very impressed with the quantity and quality of 2nd generation topics on this site, so I decided to join. I fell in love with my first CTD while helping my Uncles farm. I was driving an S10 at the time and my uncle bought a new '92 Chassis Cab CTD. He partially bought that truck because he really liked the engine from his experiences with it in his farm equipment. Within a couple of years, I bought a new red and black '97 CTD 2500 reg cab 4x4(I'd love to be able to have this truck back and in good shape). I then decided I needed an extended cab and ordered my current truck. It is an Amethyst '99 CTD 2500 QC 4x4…

My pumps are down and as a result so is my income...located a used garuanteed to run pump nearby for 450$, can improvise lift for about 200$ more. Not what I want to do but at least I'll be running. What do you think, any traps I'm missing? That's guaranteed to run only, no warranty implied or other wise, lift pump is a near match found by oriellys guy, new in box....
