Molly, lithium, hi temp. etc. So what grease is used where? i currently have a molly grease in my grease gun. is it safe for say u-joints? ball joints? CV joints tractor pivot joints. wheel bearing? i've read and read on this and can't really fin d a good answer. just that new grease is better then none. anyone care to explain. i have a case of JT-6 extreme hi temp and pressure red stuff but was told by a few people that molly is the best going. what about the Lithium? where would i use that? The way one reads most forums i'd need 12 grease guns... i have two but only ever grab one.

I've been experiencing something, that I think is new........................or else I've never really noticed it before. When I start my truck, and it's Winter here now....................I let the grid heaters do their thing. Then start my truck.................always starts. Seems like the "charge gauge" on the dash is taking a longer than normal time to come back. I don't even recall what is normal time for it. Here's the thing about my posting this though....................if I start to drive BEFORE the charge gauge comes back, I will get the ABS and Brake light flash on the dash along with the single chime. If I wait until the charge g…

Starting to have a dead pedal symptom. When I shift, sometimes the pedal goes dead, no engine response for a second or 2, then it comes back to life. Initially it started as a hiccup. Would just be noticeable between shifts. No codes, new symptom is first start today was rough, low idle, ran ~5 seconds then died. Started back up with no issues, minus the hiccup/dead pedal issues. Around a year ago had the FCA go out. Replaced it ran fine. This winter I have had to plug the block heater in since the batteries are going out. Or else they almost don't have enough juice to start the truck after cycling the grid heater. Yea I have one bad grid heater solenoid so only…

Gathering parts for my filter setup. I ordered Baldwin 7633 and a Donaldson p551313. I think those are both filters. I thought the 7633 was also a water/separator. If not I guess I got extra fuel filters.

I have a friend with a 08' 6.7 CTD and he is looking to some exhaust and program mods. He has been having some local guys saying that he needed to install a fuel rail plug to increase his fuel pressure. He asked me and I had no idea what to tell him beings my truck isn't a CR system. Any info would be great.

2007 Dodge 2500 RAM 5.9L 4x4 Mega Cab (82,000 miles well taken care of vehicle): Engine died at highway speed, and will not start with no immediate electrical problems. I was traveling on a 700 mile trip for labor day holidays, and after five hours during the returning home leg and while on cruise control at night, then without any notice the engine just stopped running/producing power at 60 mph and truck coasted to a stop. There was no engine life but would crank and did not start or even show any signs of firing. Immediate checks of fuses determined that there were no blown fuses. Just to be sure I replaced fuse #41 for EGM but this did not help. Luckily, I was 7 …

so this weekend i'ma change the oil in the rear dif, t-case. not doing the front dif as i checked it and it's color is still nice and clean looking, i know i spins all the time but under no load maybe kept it cleaner longer. for the rear the manual calls for a synthetic 75-90, will the normal conventional, 80-90 be ok? i have a few gallons of this on the shelf. the t-case calls for atf+4, however my 93 toyota calls for atf as well and i use 30 weight non detergent oil in it. would that be ok in the tcase on my dodge as it is in the toyota??

For those who haven't read my thread in the 2nd gen side my truck burned up in our shop fire today. So I'm truck shopping but feel pretty unsure of myself since I wasn't planning on truck shopping for a lot of years! For starters a quick search found me a 2008 2500, 6.7 with egr delete, 6 sp manual, reg cab 8 ft box, 165600 km, $23500. What things should I be looking for in this age of truck? I'm totally new to 3rd gen and common rail cummins and manual trannys.

2005 5.9 24 valve. Making oil... Yuk. I guess most of you know what that means. It is also knocking on injector 5 and 6. At least it is going to be a beautiful day down here in Texas. Already in the 70's. Will update when I'm all done. Oh, and this is my first post, great site from what I've seen so far.

Hello I have done what I new be thought to do and got rid of my 1999 5.9 for a 2009 6.7 now with that being said the truck has 110,000 miles and is an automatic 4wd the truck is plain stock has the egr and dpf on it. I plan on leaving for a trip to Colorado next week and will not delete the truck more then likely till I'm back due to already gonna spend a good amount on trip. My question is what is reccomended to do to the truck the mean time. The truck does get a bad bounce at 60mph+ but the tires are balled so I'm guessing it is that the dealership is replacing the tie-rods and track bar. Sorry for the long message but would really appreciate some help on this new truck

The guy at Orielly`s tells me there is two different size 14 bolt AAM axles listed for my truck, one is a 10.5 ring gear and the other a 11.5 ring gear. I`m guessing it is 11.5 but not certain? I`m getting ready to change the rear end grease, and looking for a new cover gasket..... He tells me both of the cover gaskets for AAM axles are $50.00 + !! I am tempted to try the old fashioned silicone route. Any thoughts?

Working on the rear disc brakes today, time to replace pads, and I need to get the rotors off to be resurfaced. I have loosened the park brake cable disconnected the cable at the rear axle, and I can`t get the rotor to budge! I have tried everything short of getting a bigger hammer and the rotor will not release from the axle flange??? Am I missing something here, or do I need a bigger hammer? I don`t want to destroy the brake rotor.

Purchased my truck with 104,000 mi. Did not appear that the trans or rear axle fluids had ever been changed. Decided to run Royal purple syncromax in the trans. When changing the fluid i noticed the magnet inside the pto cover had some metal flakes but not overwhelming. Long story short, i ran syncromax for 16000 (6qrts) the truck was always hard to shift, hard to down shift Could only catch a gear or two) and sometime nearly impossible to get in gear if it was at operating temp and I put it in neutral at a long stop light. Switched fluid out today and the magnet was buried in metal flakes/shavings. Replaced the RP syncromax with 6 qrts of pennzoil syncromesh. Truck i…
