My son is the proud new owner of of a "00" 3500 DRW 24V. I finally got around to looking under the hood this past Friday after his lovely wife ran it out of fuel up on main street (another story).. Anyway I noticed his truck has the same style fuel canister as my 3rd gen.. I`m thinking if the truck were mine I would go with a Baldwin PF7977 5 micron filter along with a good lift pump upgrade. The reason I`m throwing this out there is because I remember seeing somekind of warning on Geno`s website about using 7 micron filters being too restrictive for 2nd gens??? What do you guys think?

Hey guys, I've had this issue since I bought the truck, but the IOD fuse keeps blowing and I don't know why. I do know that this fuse runs the OBDII port and several lights. I have checked all of the light connections and nothing seems to be shorting out. Can anyone throw out some more advice on why this fuse would be blowing?

I haven't had my truck long only done a few upgrades. Got a few questions I have been slowly replacing my vacuum lines after finding them with holes. My question is why does sometime I have more blowby then others and yes its warmed up sometimes it's nothing coming out vent tube and sometimes it steaming pretty decent. I did the cap upside down test and it doesn't move and it doesn't tea kettle. What would cause this? Next question is I changed my oil with 15w 40 delo 400 after driving 1000 miles the oil is still clean and clear I'm use to diesel oil being black soon as u crank it and check it. Is this ok or something wrong? Last question is I had a intercooler boot cut I…

Hey all, hoping I can get some advice or an answer from somebody who has had this problem or knows a lot more than I do. Last night, I decided to flush my power steering system because my steering never has been great and I’m also sure it’s never been done (truck has 320k miles). Before flushing, I did the DIY hot rod pump mod because after reading and seeing how much people liked it I figured I’d give it a try. I drilled the holes to the proper size and location on my Bridgeport and made sure they were exactly centered. I cleaned the relief valve and reinstalled it as well. Next, I did the flushing procedure as described in the Haynes manual, removed both return lines an…

“CRUISE” Indicator light in dash is defective. Manual indicates it’s a PC74 Bulb. However, if I’m going in to replace 1, I’d like to swap all to LED, if that’s possible, since all my other lights are LED. I thought I’d read discussion on doing this, but searches revealed nothing. Thanks

Hello, I’ve been trying to chase this rough idle issue for weeks now. My truck is a 1999 2500 with an s362, edge juice with attitude, bd 3 piece exhaust manifold, 200hp injectors (don’t know the brand, of size of holes or how many of them). I have other non power train parts but those are the ones that I can think of off the top of my head. My issue started after I put in 200hp injectors used that I bought from a reputable person and I did not get them pop tested unfortunately. I properly bled the fuel system and it started right up. I noticed immediately that it had a rough idle and stutter that was really mild that you really had to listen for. You could hear …

  11. This is the straw that broke the camels back... I've finally tired of the constant beating down of my 2 cycle oil theory and my hard work. Check out this thread... http://www.cumminsforum.com/forum/alter ... e-oil.html As I said on the thread....

I can really hear my fan when it's really hot, but I'm wondering if my fan clutch is running too much all the time. I am over cooling and temps swing between 190 and 175. Cycles more less. How do you diagnose if the clutch is working properly?

  13. So I've been thinking that I want to put a oil trap on my crank case vent. My biggest problem is that I dont want to spend $200 on a kit. As I was thinking about options for a home made setup, I got a crazy idea...why not use the stock fuel filter housing? I have a FASS 150 on the truck already, so that housing is just sitting there doing nothing. Im going to look at what all i would have to change on it to make it work as my oil trap. Any ideas/gripes/complaints or comments about the whole idea??

Looking to upgrade over the rv275's that are in the truck currently if possible, not sure if I have the proper supporting mods to use upgraded injectors if I do. So heres the list, -quadzilla xzt -fass 95 -bhaf -4" turbo back -hx35 w/ ww2 (don't waste money on this wheel) -3 piece manifold would I be safe upgrading to 50 or 75hp injectors? Or would it be a safer bet just to stay where I'm at? I'm only looking to upgrade because what I have now are starting to haze.

  15. Hello, just joined the other day but member of CF also; my first post here.A buddy of mine at work is offering to sell me his SGII for $100. So far most of the functions seem to work. I have all the correct engine and fuel data, etc. set up. Completed 2 fillups. The SGII website recommends to set up the gauges to read the following for monitoring fuel economy: XX.XAVG X.X GPHXX.XMPG X.XX TFCI cannot seem to get to the avg mpg or tfc gauge while in the gauge section...Also, when in the mpg gauge, I just watched the MPG jump around from 16 on up to 350 mpg (I wish). I double checked my settings to verify, all was correct. Is the SGII itself faulty, or am I …

Neighbor and I have matching 2001 24V 4x4 HO 6 speed trucks. Axle ratio and paint color are only difference. Both are bone stock, his has 150,000 or so miles, mine has 440,000 and has been run much harder. About a month ago, he sent me some DTC's he pulled with the Key. They were: ECU 343, 1475, 577, 1286, 123. Truck has dead pedal and resorts to idle only at times. I checked alternator, VAC voltage with Fluke DVM is 0.023 VAC at idle, rising to 0.031 at 2000 rpm on road. (I have the one with the detach wireless screen.) 2 weeks later, codes were: ECU 118, 113, 606, 577, 343, 1475, 1286, 123. Went int…

Hello to all! While I frequent another forum I am new to this one. I stumbled across it and it looks like a really good site. There is a wealth of info. just on the home page! The format is easy to navigate and answers alot of questions without having to look any further. Big thanks to Mopar1973Man for setting this up!!I am looking for an answer to a question I have been asking. The truck in my sig. has a cracked 53 and I have a motor waiting on me and warmer weather to put it in. My truck is an auto. and the motor came from a manual truck. My motor tag says 215 HP and the replacement says 235. The replacement has a fairly new VP44 on it so I thought I'd keep it if I can.…

Ok so the other day i took my 01 2500 apart to install new ball joints. I took the brake lines off the calipers to give myself more room to work and when i went to reinstall everything went smoothly. I bled the lines i have full pressure coming from all 4 calipers. I cannot get any foot pressure. I tryed a "new/used" Hydroboost and it was not the problem. I am out of ideas and cannot get the pedal to hold pressure. I start it and try to move it doesnt grab till the very bottom and not to much. ` I think there could be air trapped in the abs sensor? I have no idea any help would be great. Thanks in Advance!!!!!!!

  19. Anyone know any tricks to tell if the injection pumps been changed? I can see the mounting bolts have had a wrench on them but can see a bar code tag on the side. Also the lift pump on the block (truck is entirely stock) does not look anything like the one that was on my 2002 when I bought it. It's kind of made with square shapes instead of a hocky Puck shape with, like the Carter with lines coming out the top.????? It's a weird looking lift pump. Anyone have an idea? Could be I'm looking at the wrong thing too! Me like this after buying truck Won't be driving it till it gets big lines and a good lift pump. Need to set it up right Michael …

Had a wreck-replaced front clip, final phase is headlights. It's a daily driver so put salvage yard stock housings and some old Sylvania's in to be legal. Getting by with a pair of LED fog lights for back roads. Of course I'd like to upgrade. Hopefully to an LED that is not obnoxious to other drivers, or having to overhaul the whole system. Kind of limited on time, but performance and quality are priority. My thought is to convert from 9004's to 07's or whatever else that will start me out with a better bulb. Then it's between halogen and LED's, and reflectors or projector housings. I have the harness to go to quad bulbs but I believe the computer needs to be flashed. If …
