  1. Anybody have a good memory? Someone posted a pic of a brake airline they used for their low fuel pressure gauge. I can't find it now. The pic had name printed on the hose. I would like to track some down. Anybody remember the post or know what line to use? At my NAPA I asked for 1/4 inch airbrake line and they wanted to sell me what's listed below. After looking up what they sell I don't want to use it. It's not even brake line and I've hit the "bold" to show where I think it is lacking. Or if anybody's used this, is it good enough? Maybe just me but I was thinking there must be something better. Thanks for any response. …

  2. Hello All, . Been referencing this site for years and found many answers. Good job. Heres my question. I bought an 01 with a Banks Big Hoss Wire Tap. I have a Flashpaq F4 here also. Will these units work together. I looked on the stacking chart for the VP44 and didn't see the Big Hoss on there.

Some May recall my previous problem with my Fuel pressure. Initially the thought was air in the lines. But now I think it's something to do with the air dog pump block area itself. It still could be a house in this area,i dunno. What I do know, is that the problem is stemming from this area. Last night after work, I killed the batteries trying to get the truck to crank over. Luckily I had a guy to jump me. On the first startup of the day, it cranks over no problem. Sits afterwards, then it becomes a problem. This has happened a few nights in a row now. But not bad enough like Last night. I'll bump the starter to get the pump to cycle, a…

I am reaching the point where I need to have my 47re rebuilt. Im leaning towards a suncoast triple disc converter, shift solenoids and a built valve body. I am also going to use the most reputable diesel performance shop around do the work. Does anybody have a ballpark what it costs for labor on a job like that? Thanks

Aloha - I am back from Hawaii! And apologies if this was answered already somewhere else. Here is what happened: It's a gen II 2002 24 valve diesel 3500 Changed VP44 and ECU in Jan 16 - truck ran fine other than issue with TPS - which we changed as well (sometime spring 16). Had "no-start" issue with error 1689 a couple of weeks ago and swapped out the fuel relay for a new one - truck ran fine but pretty rough - felt like missing cylinder. Today truck started, drove around for a bit (but ran rough); we shut it down, tried to restart a while later and now, no start again. Pulled codes and it is now reading 1689 and 1690 - swapped re…

I installed my sending unit and fixed the broken quick disconnects with Larry B's kit. My fuel gauge still does not work. I did the cluster check, hold the odometer button down, and the gauge functions, etc. The resistance when the tank is empty was about 210-215 ohms; 20 ohms when the level is moved to full. I get these readings at the connector on top of the tank. Is there anything else, besides the harness being bad, that would make the fuel gauge not read? Thanks for any suggestions, the truck has 350k miles, and things are breaking down at an alarming rate.

I ran across this thread and thought I'd move it along through the forums. Seems someone has found a way around the problem of no more existing OEM engine fans. Anyone still struggling to look for one may find his information helpful. http://www.dieselforums.com/showthread.php?p=14561&posted=1#post14561

(So confused right now. I can't remember if I asked this question or not. Memory and fuel system not good. I'm going to install shut off valves and install elec fuel pressure gauge. I have an Airdog pump system. Fuel exits the tank by a sump at bottom of the fuel tank then goes to Airdog pump then directly to VP 44. If pump and water filter are below the level of fuel in the tank... I can just open valve on water filter and tank should just drain (slowly) by gravity, right? Thinking about locations of shut off valves... just after sump drain and just after Airdog pump. Does that sound good or is there something bett…

While researching which coolant to use after new radiator install, I found the following: http://www.turbodieselregister.com/tdrarticles/tdrarticle62_antifreeze.html About halfway down the page there is this table: There seem to be a few interesting tidbits in the article, and ALL sorts of talk about silicates etc... Thanks for looking, and I am very curious as to what Folks think of the info.... Ed

Alright guys I have some questions regarding rv275 injectors. I've decided that these injectors will more then likely be what I go with when the time comes to upgrade mainly because I'm just looking for a mild boost in fueling without getting EGTs too crazy because I still want the truck to be able to tow a house. Questions are... -How big (hp wise) are the rv275s? I've heard multiple different claims -Are all rv275s created equal? Bosch vs DFI for example? -Biggest turbo could reasonably run on rv275s (with towing in mind)

My truck throws P0501 code as soon as it travels even a quarter mile at road speed, there are no other symptoms. 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins with 47RE auto. This truck had the transmission rebuilt before I got it and one of the front wheel bearings replaced. I have replaced the other front wheel bearing and wheel speed sensor, the transmission speed sensor and the rear axle speed sensor(which causes complete brake failure BTW). I have also replaced the ECM. The ABS appears to work OK, as hard breaking on gravel causes pedal pulse. Does anyone know what the P0501 code really means? Is it a difference in one of the 3 wheel speed sensors or a difference in the tran…

Working on a friends tail light problem. Get it fixed and the next day he starts for home and gets white smoke missing then dies. I am thinking the connector to the rear and also fuel pump in tank could be problem. This morning changed the fuel filter. Cracked the fuel line at the VP and hit the key. Tank in pump ran with pressure and fuel squirting from loose fitting. Has had eng light on for 6 months. Checked code using key sw. Got only P 1693 then P end code. Nothing else. Did it again got same thing?? I have a code reader. will it do any better? This is a farm truck running farm diesel from a bulk tank. No gauges! 3 prior VPs. Maybe 70,000 on this one. 475,000 on tr…

Hex0rz showed up at my house to trade out his +75 HP injectors for my stockers. This allowed him to keep going on his trip. For some reason his +75HP injectors are growing oil so there is a injector issue. So I cleaned my stock injectors up and installed them for him. Hex0rz and Mrs Hex0rz wait for me to do the work. So of course the engine was hot and I plunged right in. Managed to swap all 6 injectors in 1.5 hours.

Hello guys, I've just returned from a road trip and check with my edge JWA trouble codes and found a p0122. I notice a change in APPS % . I set it and got 0% at idle but after around 1 month now I have like 3-4% at idle and when colder with intake heater cycle, its 5-7% idle and drop to 0% when grid heater is on, after goes up to 5-7% .. Now I'll try to disconnect the batteries and try to relearn the APPS! Can it be the APPS begin to get tired? I changed it 2-3or4 years ago (dont remember) with an APPS from rockauto! If I need to change the APPS wich one do you recommend me? best for cheap!! or simply the best that will last more. Thanks
