i need to install a fuel pressure gauge when my truck s running again. I have seen alot of them on the internet with price varying alot. which is the best to have, mechanical or electric? or is there any differance in the performance of either? I do like the one that mopar has with the green range on it but can't seem to find that gauge anywhere. I can hook up either i just want to do it once and not twice. any help is appreciated.

I have a 2001 Ram 2500 Diesel. When I am driving at aprox 50 mph, the trans seems to either be getting air or attempting to shift down. It is only for a split second then returns to normal. It is more apt to do this when cold. If I take the truck out of overdrive it changes nothing. I was told its a TPS but I would like some more input. Any sugestions?

I just put a vp44 on my truck and got it running but it idles at 1000 rpm but when I floor it it’ll idle at normal rpm. With the key on I tested all 6 wires and they all have right around 5v. Unplugged the tps and it idles fine obviously but what should I be chasing at this point? Codes are p0123 p0113 p0118 p01693 x2 p0236 p0237

Prior to the dead batteries... the truck kicked & fired off on the first touch of the key. Since then, it has not. The engine is turning over... batteries are not fallng down. Yesterday I tried with the IAT fooler off & xzt off. Today, I went to start it. I didn't see a wait to start light. Air was 45 degrees or so. It fired like one cylinder but did not catch. Repeated. On the 4th try it started & ran. It blew a cloud of grey smoke I saw in the mirror. I stepped on it slightly & it blew more of same before it cleared up. I'm clueless... but the first thing popping into my head is "Why isn't the grid heater running?" Is it fused somewhere? …

Hey guys been a fan along time of the site and have always been able to find answers by just searching through other posts. Now im stuck in a pickle, have an 2002 24v auto 4x4, the oil pressure gauge has never worked and the check gauges lights been on also, i bought it that way about 2 years ago. Now i have to have it checked by a smog referee with the state of CA and their giving me a hard time since theres a code on it.:banghead: I read everywhere and checked the wiring diagrams and it seems like the senor should have 3 wires going to it so it should be senor 5012991AD. However mine has only 1 wire, one prong plug its a green conector. I checked with dodge and the…

I recently took my truck/5th wheel on a trip to the U.P. of MI. On the first day out, a couple hrs into the drive, I glanced down at my gauges and noticed the voltmeter hanging low in the 12 volt area. At the time I was running with my headlights on which included all the running lights on the 5ver. First thing I did was turn off the lights - voltage came up slightly. About that time my better half informed me she was due for a pit stop so I pulled over on an exit ramp & let her into the trailer. While she was doing that I had a look under the hood. All looked fine but I detected a slight noise coming from the alternator that was unfamiliar; it did not seem to change …

  9. Ok, for some background, I’ve got 11 years working as a heavy wheel mechanic for the army and I’ve taught basic electrical, so I’m not a complete Mo-Ron at least when it comes to this stuff. I completed the WT mod as well as the PCM protection fuse … before the mod WTS would come on after about 5-6 second (I know) and truck would start right up no problem. Would do the trans lock unlock deal other wise run fine. During the mod I noticed some real janky wiring on the APPS harness (see pics) I repaired the broken and damaged wires and tested good continuity. Also noticed someone tapped a ground to the blk/blu wire on the apps harness …

Ok, so as my title states, my truck never came with a lift pump. I only have a FASS titanium fuel pump, and huge lines running straight to the vp44. Would it help anything by putting in a stock lift pump later? Or can I just keep my current setup? Lately it's been loping kind of funny now and then. I'm terrified my vp is getting ready to **** the bed. I'm heading to Williston ND tomorrow to start work Monday, but that's easily a 16hr drive for me, if not longer. After Gillette WY there's alot of empty roads and no service.... Im going to change the fuel filter and water separator just to be safe before I go. The truck has made it from Casper Wyoming to Dickinson Nd, …

I originally posted this on Cummins Forum, any thoughts or ideas would be very helpful. Truck very intermittently (probably twice in the last month), typically in traffic, at low RPM and low throttle input will start rev ing up to about 2200 RPM and then die. If I immediately try to restart it it will not catch. If i turn the key off and let it sit for a 10 seconds or so it will start back up no issue. So low RPM, low throttle pressure it will start pulling, it will gradually pull until about 2200 RPM and then die. Manual truck so once i notice the issue i push the clutch in, once i push the clutch in it will rev to up to about 2200 RPM over about two secon…

  17. Where to even begin.... I've had my iQuad Adrenaline for only 2 months now and I'm fed up with it. This whole ordeal started at installation of the ignition wire. The little hook thing that you're suppose to hook onto the prong of the #9 fuse never worked for me, still doesn't, it doesn't allow the fuse to properly be seated into its spot and easily falls out. So from there I did the best I could and I placed it between the prongs since it fits pretty well between them and it worked and allowed the fuse to sit in its spot nicely. Fast forward to a week ago, driving home, feels like I was working against something since it was a windy day cause it was like big gusts of win…

I am having a problem with the overdrive button. Most times I have to press it numerous times to get it to engage. What's the fix?

  19. So, the truck runs, but not great. I get the puff of black smoke when it first starts, but under acceleration, I start seeing big black smoke I've not seen before. the truck is stock, with the exception of an Airdog 150, and has about 340k miles. the injector are stock, and I've lost power recently. I'm not sure if the power loss is due to the injectors being worn, or the fact that my RPM will go to zero, and the pump misses, like an ECU connection issue. when the RPM gauge is working, the truck has power, when the RPM gauge goes to zero, and hard acceleration makes it almost roll coal, with no power. I'm hoping that its a bad connection at the ECU which puts t…

I will be installing the new AD 100 soon and was wondering what everyone else does with the stock filter housing? I thought I read that some have removed it but now I can't find the info again. I plan on running the 1/2" line right to the VP with a tee for the pressure gauge unless there is a better way to do it.
