Now I got code 216:cry: after code 230 cleared by itself. Truck runs smooth as glass with no symptoms:think:. Has new Raptor 100 with the harness. Running 17.5 fuel pressure. Volt meter shows 13.1 volts at the lift pump when you bump the starter. Batteries at 13.6. fuel relay in the PDC tests good. Both filters changed 3,000 miles back with A clean and clear bowl on the Racor filter bowl.Okay, should I switch out the primary filter (suction side) from a 45 g.p.h. to a 90 g.p.h.? Might have too much restriction. I know I can pull f/p from 17.5 down to 14 with half inch fuel lines all the way.Should I not go to Yosemite with the 216 error code? It's a 1300 mile round trip.…

I've had my truck just about a year now and I've only seen it up to operating temp twice, normally it runs 160 to 165. During the winter months I made a cold weather front from a sheet of aluminum that blocked 95% of the radiator and it still only ran 160. Back in May I towed maybe 4500 pounds 750 miles or so round trip average speed was 70 to 75mph and it still only ran 160. About 3 weeks ago I pulled the radiator and power washed all the oil and dirt out of it and installed a new 190 thermostat. I noticed it ran slightly warmer about 170 but its been back around 160 ever since. In less than a week I'm taking a trip out west of the Rockies and would like to see it run …

  3. Got some questions about what my truck is doing over the past six month it has been to five different states and I have put on about twenty five thousand miles right around 270,000 ish only about half the time I was pulling a loaded 16ft enclosed trailer weight aprox 6000 so nothing to strenuous but over the past six month I have been noticing more of a buring oil smell in the cab its been using more oil and the biggest two concerns are when its at operating temperature 210ish my blowby tube is steaming and it drips a black cool very thin liquid about one drip every 10 to 15 seconds I have asked around and we came up with fuel and engine oil but why its cool to the touch …

So latley when the temps get below 5 to -5 below, my fuel pressure is showing about 2 to sometimes 4 psi greater. It normally idles at 18 psi. now its at 20 when I first start it up and has went to 22 once. This morning I left in hurry at 6 a.m, temp at negative 6. I only let truck warm up for 10 minutes or so. temp not even registering on gauge yet. I figured Id just take it easy going down road till it started climbing. I got about 4 miles and temp was lucky to see 160 and fuel pressure was showing 22 psi. then it started dropping all the way below 10 psi. so I stopped to try to build more heat.

i am not new to diesel trucks, ive had a few and i worked at Dodge as a diesel tech, many years ago before the army. but like anything you havent done in 7 years, i have forgotten a few things so i have a question. i have a 2002 24v 6speed, 150's, 62/71/14, studs, FASS, valair single, 5", quadzilla i drive the truck with the quadzilla on level 1 95% of the time, and have been getting around 19-20mpg driving around base. im still getting the same fuel mileage, still drive the same, still running 2-cycle in my fuel. nothing has changed.i used to be able to put the quadzilla on anything higher than 3 and it would roast the tires at 35mph if you floored it, boost ca…

So the supposed HX35 I bought ended up being a WH1C. For all purposes it seems to be an HX35, other than drilling and tapping for a boost elbow, is this a "bolt-on" swap? It has 5 bolt holes in the rear so I think I can reuse my HY35 exhaust adapter? Has anyone done this?

Well gang... I figured I'd share a experience with you all... I've got a home made high idle kit on my Cummins that electronically fools the ECM to thinking it cold and tripping the high idle software... But what was occurring is that as I drove down the highway I would listen to a random cyclic timing changing heavy advancement (heavy ping) to retarding (quiet). But I had no CEL (check engine light), codes displayed on the ScanGauge II, or unusual IAT temps. Till finally I tripped a code P0113 which I knew was a IAT sensor code and the display showed the -40*F for temp. But I reset the code and watch the display as a I traveled started seeing slightly off numbers you rea…

Ok i've posted issue's with a off and on "dead Pedal" issue on this forum but i finally found the reason why after a few test run's. After all the test i have disscovered that any time i run my A/C on any setting my pedal goes dead good fuel pressure and so on just a dead pedal till i turn off the A/C. I can't even imagine why those two item's would even be tied together so any idea's why this is happening??? Thank's look forward to your anwser's

Last night oil gauge started dropping to bottom of gauge tripping check gauges light and chime. Since it was raining I'm thinking loose connection. My question Where is the sensor? I tried to find it on the parts lookup. It is listed as number 12 but picture only goes to 11. Want to clean the connection.

So I found out my 2001's turbo is full of oil and not very happy so here's two options: I have a replacement hx35 to throw on Or A Smeding 62/64/14 I can throw on it. Truck has 100hp sticks, a Quadzilla, Airdog 150. What would your guy's recommendation be?

  11. Hello, I have a 1999 24v what developed several problems. 1. batteries get drained overnight 2. takes it several minutes to get it to charge 14 volts. 3. lift pump will not come on with key switch 4. lift pump will not come on with bump of starter. Replaced alternator----same problem. disconnected batteries for 1 hr. Now lift pump will come on but it takes 5 to 7 seconds to come on after key is turned on. Still takes several minutes for charging to get to 14 volts. lift pump is not making enough pressure when running. Batteries are less than 1 yr old and they are interstates. lift pump is a fass that replaces the factory lift pump. its 2 yrs old. I …

Ok LOOKING for some help here . I have a 1999 2500 4X4 5 speed Quad St . Recently I did a cab swap over the winter . While putting the truck together I used the 1998.5 Dash and harness from an SLT . While working on the truck it ran great started up after sitting for a couple of months . While were putting it all back together we came across an issue with the 1998.5 dash . the Headlight switch in a 1998.5 and the 1999 are different and we had no headlights . so we switched everything over and put the 1999 dash back into to the truck . So all the harness is 1999 . We went to start the truck and it started and died ! We thought the pump but after all that wha…

I read that you can use the inner most 1/8" port on the top of the fuel filter canister as a tap for your mechanical FP gauge. This is the plug closest to the center nut on top. Anyone have any info on this?

Been noticing mist or smoke in the headlights. Yes I yanked the bottle off long ago. Hoping valve seals is all. It doesnt use any coolant still runs the same also doesnt use oil. I am 1/4" over the hash mark on the dipstick but I doubt that's it. But who knows. Odometer reads 323k not sure I trust it. Never had more than a valve adjust. Is it time to upgrade the head? Hoping its semi normal and I'm just noticing since about 90% of my driving is in the dark right now. This is first year in about 8 that I've used her for work.

Ok guys I was towing my boat home from the lake as I was going up a hill in town I encountered a MAJOR problem. I dumped my entire coolant system. I just did a head gasket about 10K miles ago. I run ARP’s and I have an upgraded turbo. I know it’s leaking from the back of the block. Any guesses to what my problem is?

Mike, I saw on Cummins Forum, your/the tire pressure formula. (Axle weight / 2) / Tire Capacity weight ) x Tire Max Pressure = Infation Pressure. So my 'normal formula is: Dual Rating: ((4200 /2) / 3415 x 80 = 49.19 psi Single Rating: ((4200 /2) /3085 x 80 = 54.45 psi My question is do you add the load weight over the axle, ie. pin weight, or w/e weight is on the axle? If not, why? The tires still bare that added weight to the truck. So would the the formula look like this with pin weight of 3000 lbs.? Single Rating: ((4200 + 3000 /2) / 3085 x 80 = 93.35 psi? Dual Rating: ((4200+3000/2) / 3415 x 80 = 84.33 …
