Truck in my sig...... This truck has had a FASS 150 on it for @10 years, has and still does work correctly. Up until yesterday, key "on", pump ran a couple of seconds, or bump the starter and pump ran for @20 seconds. Yesterday, key "on", no pump, bump the starter, pump runs a few seconds and shuts off. The FASS is run with a relay plugged into the factory lift pump harness. The truck starts and runs, and maintains @14 psi constant after being started. I unplugged the FASS harness, tested the relay and the harness, checked out ok, and the pump runs with 12v direct to it. Key "on", the factory lift pump harness shows 7v, bump the starter it goes to 9v-10v for a few se…

I have searched the forums and can’t find anything specific to my lift pump issue. I have a 2002 with 230k miles has a air dog raptor ffrp 150 and edge comp and fuel/pyro/boost gauges On the way to work this morning I noticed I had 0 fuel pressure I then pulled over and bumped the starter, the pump ran for roughly 30 seconds. I then started the truck and watched the fuel gauge it held at 15 PSI for roughly 30 seconds again and then promptly dropped to zero. I hard wired the pump through a switch and it stayed on then but it burnt the pump up. Has anyone had this specific issue and know a fix ? I’m really confused since it runs for t…

I have an airtex lift pump and it has been great. I changed my fuel filter last night and went to bump the starter and got nothing. My pump in the past has always run after bumping the starter. I got the truck running and the fuel pressure was fine: 18 PSI idle, 14 PSI cruise, never below 12PSI. I have stock fuel lines so it is going to drop a little more than bigger fuel lines. Any thoughts as to why the fuel pump didn't run when I bumped the starter? Would it be some sort of relay issue, computer issue, or just fuel pump issue?

I got a diesel leak coming from the bottom of the lift pump were apparently there is an electrical connection,I have already checked the fuel line connections and they are dry so I am pretty sure is coming from there. Is there a fix to this or do I need to buy a new lift pump.

  6. Hey guys my rigs been acting weird electrically lately it sat for 9 months while I was saving for a new turbo setup. Now that its up and running im having several what I suspect are electrical issues here are what I think may be the symptoms of my ecu going bad( rough idle at peak high idle rpm, lift pump not cycling when I turn the key on or bump it) I do have fuel pressure while the truck runs It takes longer to start now that I dont have pressure before start up. I've read similar threads but saw no resolutions The other issue im having is my od, it stopped going into overdrive by itself (lock up switch did the trick for a few months) now …

Hey Everyone, I noticed reciently that my lift pump is not coming on before I start my truck. I turn the key to the on position and no pressure from the lift pump. When I do start the truck my fuel pressure is 13-15psi drops to about 9-11psi wot. I know it isnt normal for it to do this, could it be a loose connection or you think it is the lift pump? Its a stock lift pump from Cummins Dealer I put it on about 6months ago. Thanks Corey

So I'm not entirely sure if this is even an issue or not but it is something I've noticed. It first came to my attention after installing the high idle mod, although I can't say for certain that's what caused it, or if that's when it started. Anyways, my issue is that I no longer get a 'prime' when turning the key and waiting for the WTS light to go out. Before I would turn the key, hear the pump prime for about 5 seconds, or just long enough to build to about 15-17psi and then cut off, shortly after the WTS light would extinguish and I'd fire her up. I'm not sure if it's just getting colder outside so its harder to prime or what. I did bump it and it ran through the…

If I'm Lucky enough to get a refund from taxes this year I would like to purchase either a DTT Assasin or A FASS Titanium 95 or 150. My question is must I modify the stock fuel lines or put in a sump if I go the Fass route or can I reroute the stock lines to the pump?

Ok, So I bought this 02 6 speed quad cab dually back in april. No body on the back, getting ready to put on a nice utility body. Been doing lots of fix-up, new brakes/calipers/rotors/wheel bearings/dana 80 clutch re-stack/u joints/air bags/ etc etcSo, soon will be ready to put the body on but first want to do the lift pump since right now my tank is easily accessible.I've researched and asked this question over at the cumminsforum.com But there are sooooo many different reccomendations/types/styles/price ranges of lift pumps. It's confusing man! :think:I just want the simplest & most reliable. For now I'm happy with the factory power, maybe more power upgrades in t…

It appears my lift pump is dead. I pulled the relay and jumpered the correct connectors, heard contacts click in, but no pump running. I'm on a budget (= low funding) and would like a decent quality unit that can bolt in, no huge modifications to my fuel system. Also, a recommended fuel pressure gauge installation set up would be appreciated.

Hello I replaced my lift pump and IP but now I have a hard start issue because the cranking pressure is too much for IP. I now have a toggle switch to turn off the lift pump while starting. I have heard of a way to install a relay to delay the lift pump until the engine is running, is there a link on here for the instructions? Thanks

  15. I've got my 2001 2500 5-speed 4x4 down with a lift pump problem. Currently the newly replaced (in-line style, original location on engine) pump is primed and working during starting and maintains over 15 psi (that's the my of my gage). If the truck has sat for a few minutes, it will turn on briefly when the ignition is turned on, and it responds to blipping the starter by turning on for 25 seconds. I can hear good fuel flow returning to the tank (which I just cleaned up when replacing the fuel sender). Once I got the fuel circuit bled of air, it started just fine, but as soon as the engine starts, the lift pump shuts off. The injection pump is apparently able …

So I have a FASS titanium series waiting at the house for me to get home and do the install. What’s the consensus on suction? Draw straw or sump?

  17. Started by Marcus2000monster,

Ok so I drove about 65 miles round trip yesterday with a buddy and had no issues except for a few times I thought the truck stuttered a little but nothing to cuase any worry. I was driving home on the back roads and the truck all the sudden started sputtering like crazy and would almost die. I quickly pulled off and killed the engine and pulled out my code scanner. I couldn't find any codes but there was a P230 in the freeze frame section which is Fuel Pump primary circuit. I towed the truck back to my house and pulled into the garage and pulled out my multimeter but the multimeter wouldn't work right. IS there any way to verify the lp took a dump without doing the testin…

I have two more stock Lift pumps to burn up before I get a Raptor. Anyhow, would it be okay to use an 85 amp continious duty mechanical type relay (you know the old style with contacts inside) instead of the solid state ones you guys are using? Wanna run the pump off the batteries or the Alternator like some are doing, but, don't understand.... doesn't the alt put out too much amps or volts till it goes thru the volt meter first?? Where did you come off the alt?Shows how little I know, but may help someone else also.T.I.A.

  20. Now I know! This truck is co owned with my FiL, and about the only time I get my 'hands' on it is when something is needing repair! (not a real good arrangement eh?) For me anyway! But we've had this for about 7 years now, bought this '00 3500 just for one purpose: to pull either the stock trailer, or our flatbed.looking for possible causes for a couple of trouble codes... I see it still has the factory block mounted lift pump.I thought these were pretty much recalled early in their life to be retrofitted??? I'll bet a lot of you are thinking.... how can this guy not have heard where the pump was humming?..... well, I am 90% d…
