I was told by my mechanic that put my tie rod ends on that I need to replace the right side upper control. Found that a replacement control arm is around $345.00 (ouch). He is going to try to replace the bushings and see if might solve the problem. Anyone care to share any information or personal experience in this area? I think he said that he had the front end up and had someone mash the brakes and he could see movement in the control arm. Also, when you are driving and apply the brakes you can hear a noise and feel a bit of a jerk in the front end.

When i am running on the highway @ 45-60 mph with my edge att. box on 1 or 2, (do not have VP pump tapped) and push the pedal down even slightly it seams as if the trans or T/C is slipping. It feels exactly like a clutch slipping in a Manual Trans. mabe not as violent. does not do this running on stock level. T/C was replaced by local Cottman shop w/ what ever brand they carry, was suppost to be HD good for 800ft/lbs torque. Is this a T/C lock-unlock eletcrical issue???

O.K. I TO had been struggling with this stalling issue..but.. about 2-months ago i thought i had fixed it buy replacing some ground connections and a TIMBP APPPS...Wrong....yestarday it done it again..thing is..it is random..and unlike SASQCH & JOHNFAK ..MINE does not seem to do it when it cold...only does it after its warmed up and has been ran a few miles...mine too will pull down rpms real low at times but does not stall but it almost does..:banghead: I am curious..has anyone had this issue that is running stock injectors and stock SO VP pump??? Been having problems for awhile with my torque converter not locking in. Took it the shop and they put a new torque converter and selenoids in the valve body. Started working but now it’s having the same problem. Also the voltage gauge has now started staying at zero and won’t crank. Every once in awhile it will crank and after you drive around for a few minutes the gauge will go back to zero. Checked all the grounds off the batteries and they seem fine. Any help appreciated.

Relative of my son in law wanted to try Pennzoil's new Platinum Series oil in an '03(?) Dodge Cummins. Apparently they make a Diesel rated oil, Pennzoil Platinum Euro, and others made from Natural Gas. Long story short they picked up the wrong oil, Pennzoil Ultra Platinum, which isn't CF rated and wanted to know if he should dump it immediately or run with it for a while. A well used '03 diesel engine makes plenty of blowby by now and there's no way a gasser oil will handle the soot. I'm thinking a short turn around time, 2500 miles or so, probably won't kill the engine. Also guessing the oil will turn black real quick which might be an indicator that it's time t…

It is time for some new brake pads for the front of the truck, I am thinking ebc or performance friction might do the trick, anyone with recommendations? Rotors are stock with no damage and as usual I plan to turn them unless someone out there recommends otherwise. Thanks all,Chris

Yestarday, I pulled the boot of the CAC Tube and found "OIL" in the boot next to the CAC inlet. OEM turbo ex-change cost close to the price of new Aftermarket turbo. have narrowed it down to 3 choices, Switzer S300G, BD Super B kit or ATS Auroa 3000 kit. BD & ATS come's complete with downpipe and everything needed & is represented to be a "direct replacment fit", I am leaning toward ATS because of the 3yr. 150,000mile Warranty.. WHAT DO YOU GUY'S THINK WOULD BE THE BETTER CHOICE BASED ON MY MOD'S LISTED BELOW??? AN ONE RUNNING ONE OF THESE???

Thinking of upgrading my Edge W/Attitude. Mine is one of the early models with the small square boxes in the screen. Edge is offering me a fairly good deal on upgrading the unit to a CS or CTS unit but other than a newer easier to see display am wondering what if anything it does differently. Does anyone else experience their transmission shifting into reverse uncomfortably hard while in low range? Mine shifts great in high, but 2 is pretty hard. Is this in part due to my low stall torque converter? Will installing a upgraded valve body make this worse?

I have a 2001 24 valve and it has no power and smokes white like crazy when its cold. It will do this even after sitting for only 2-3 hours if i let it idle for 25 minutes or more it will be fine still some smoke some not alot more in 1st 2nd and a blueish tint but lots power. Not getting a code for vp44. I have the air intake sensor unplugged all the time because when its plugged in then it has no power almost all the time. Once trucks been running for 25-30 minutes it works fine but it will lose power right at 1450-1500 rpm in 3rd 4th 5th if u hold it there for a while, usually happens if i get stuck behind slow traffic and im at that rpm.If i drop a gear to bring the…

I have an idea to build a little set up for locking and unlocking the converter on my truck and would like to know if anyone knows if switching (opening)the signal wire that locks the converter so it cant lock will throw codes and put the truck in limp mode.. Tired of the converter locking at low speed and not unlocking until i apply half throttle or more.Its a pain after the injector / turbo upgrade (lots of smoke). I installed the tunnel ram at the same time as the turbo it is supposed to help out with smoke... if it does Id hate to see the cloud it would leave if it wasnt there lol.Could be that the tv cable needs to be adjusted but not familiar with the process.

Hello everyone, New to the forum here, have a 2000 Dodge 24 valve. I’m a mechanic by trade, bought the the truck off one of our customers. He had this issue towards the end of his ownership, truck would surge during idle and the odd time would throw APPS code but he could still drive it. The trucks had a couple different APPS sensors, OEM and aftermarket. When I bought the truck last summer I did a ton of upgrades/maintenance, starter, alternator, 2 new batteries, FASS and sump, fuel pressure gauge and a bunch of other things non related to the problem. I did all the APPS testing between sensor and ECM and everything checked out. After doin…

Hello all;I have a simple question, that may not be a simple job, but....I am in need of a new cab, instead of spending all the time cutting and welding new floors, rockers and cab corners. I have a really good deal in front of me, it is a cab from a 1995 ram gasoline, now I have a 2001 ram diesel, are the cabs interchangable for those years??? If so are there any suggestions to make my job go smoother, is there any drilling or cutting??? or if anyone has done it before what was the order they went in for taking things apart?
