OK so I've tested my alternator and its VAC is .02. I cleaned my terminals and it stopped my TC issues. But my shifting is still not right. It does this in every gear. It goes to shift, the RPMs drop about 200RPMs but goes back into previous gear. I will stay on the pedal (just casual driving keeping RPMs low) and once I gain 2-3 more MPH it will shift just fine. It only does it once before each gear but It does it in every gear. If I floor it, it will shift just fine through all the gears. The 47RE was rebuilt at 80K. Built with a HD TC. It has 147K right now. I don't believe the bands have been adjusted since being rebuilt. I have the paperwork from the previous owner t…

Hi all, pardon me for what may turn out to be a stupid question. 1999 Dodge 2500 Cummins with an embarrassing amount of money dumped into it. I used to have an Edge Juice tuner but had to switch to Quadzilla so I could change timing. Edge won't change timing. The Edge tuner does, however, connect to the ODB2 port so you can set read and reset engine codes. Very Handy. Quadzilla does not. I bought a $100 bluetooth ODB2 scanner and hooked that up. I get RPM, temperature, TPS etc from it but NEVER any engine codes. About a month ago my PCM and transmission fulfilled a long planned suicide pact and that set me back a serious amount …

  3. First time posting. Just got a 2000 2500 2wd to tow a tiny house. Decided to get a Fuel Boss and hopefully not worry about fuel supply issues and trashing a VP44. The thing is bone stock (as far as I can tell) without gauges (I know I need to get them). I checked the engine bay and there is definitely a carter lift pump behind and below the stock fuel filter. It's plugged in to the harness and the fuel like is hooked up to the filter, but I haven't bumped the starter to see if it runs. I ordered a fuel boss thinking the install would be straightforward with the stock lift pump. Then I checked the tank. It really looks like it has an in tank pump: …

  4. I have a 99 2500 4x4. I just performed the W-T ground mod and now i have a flashing WTS light. Truck has brand new batteries, 2/0 battery cables from CE auto electric. Just don't know where to go. Any help is much appreciated.

Asking for a friend... Was talking with and he said he's currently running an edge chip on 5x5, 4in exhaust, K&N intake and an Airdog with no filters and that's it. He did mention he has an inline filter or some sort but didn't really catch it. Has a NV5600, truck has 250k and still running on stock VP44. He's seeing fuel pressure from 20 at idle down to 9 while under load and heavy throttle. He said he would get codes here and there that were VP related but he'd run a bottle of methane through the tank and then the codes could clear and truck would run fine. Not sure how old the airdog is but he seems to think that he's seeing those fuel pressure numbers due to …

So back in April DAP sends an email launching the new Quadzilla injectors, but they don’t sell them on the DAP website. What’s the difference in the Quadzilla injectors vs the new DAP injectors they sell on the site? (Besides the green rubber seal)

The owner called me today and had a p0232 code. Truck runs fine but can't erase the code. Unplug the VP44 and still, the code remains. Now if he removed the fuel pump relay in the PDC it would erase the code but return instantly if the relay was plugged back in. This owner also admitted to having a BD noise filter as well. I told him to test the alternator for excessive AC noise. Back to the VP44 code, he mentions he had a second pump. So I had him just plug it in without installing the pump and the code erased and stayed out. So again another AC noise story that ate a VP44 because the owner was battling the torque converter lock up issue and ate the V…

My 01 spuddered today for the first time. Here are the codes I read 0500, 1693,0234 and 0522. the last 2 didn't show untill the 2nd cycle when it goes thru the code thing. Now what do I do? I'm j-hooked with a turnbuckle. 4" turbo back and torque dog. Towing 6500# with the dog set in the stock position. Any help would be appriciated greatly since I'm out of town working. --- Update to the previous post... I forgot to add. Never got a cel and it seems to be running ok now. Going to remove the turnbuckle when she cools down. Also forgot to thank mopar man for all his advise, info and help the other day on the phone. Thanks dude!!!

I have an automatic trans so what is the best way to hold the engine from spinning while loosening bolts on the dampner? Changing this weekend since the rubber is supposed to be even, flush to the steel. Mine is mushed out all around and wobbles when running.

  12. Do the bolts that hold the rear engine lifting bracket on the head go through the intake housing and do they need thread sealer on them?Reason I ask is I just installed the scheid 100 hp injectors and was test driving and looking for leaks and when I spray things down with brake cleaner It is pulling it into the intake when I spray around the # 5-6 injector line/lifting bracket area.Intake cover and manifold area are ok but it is the area behind it that causes it to start sputtering when I hit it with brake cleaner, only thing I could think is if it was following the lifting braket bolts into the intake?Any ideas?

Story goes, I parked the truck, pulled the motor to build up a little bit and when the truck was parked everything ran and worked fine. Truck is a 2002 p-pumped 24v, 4x4, six speed. I finally got to put the motor back in, was out about a year d/t a deployment. turn the key and nothing, no cranking or click or anything. Swapped all the relays out to determine if it was the starter relay, still nothing. I ran a jumper wire from the where the relay would create a hot terminal with the "start" position and the truck fires over and runs fine. I'm obviously getting power from the ignition switch to the relay and the junction block, etc. I'm assuming that the "no bus" con…

  14. OK, my side cover is leaking about a quart a day. Have new gasket set. Also have a used VP44HO to put in(Thanks Ghostman). Have big line kit from stock filter with FP sender for my Quad & gear puller(Thanks Jkidd).Going to pull VP, all lines, filter canister & frrp. Then, I am going to pull the ECM & possibly space it out or at least plan it out for the future. Then, do the leaky side cover gasket.I will pull apart the FRRP & reseal it while i have it out. I also have a NAPA 1/2" 50 micron filter to put in before the FRRP.Here's my questions:1. I do not have the barring tool, so is there a redneck way for breaking the IP gear nut loose & torqui…

So JohnFak is on the road going from here to Arizona and he said yesterday it was flawless, not even the bucking issue he has talked about. Well today I think he said the bucking is back a bit but his edge juice display module is showing speeds of 60/90/100/120 just bouncing all over the place. Speedometer is reading steady 60mph though. The RPM and throttle % on the EDGE also are steady, so nothing is messing up but the speed it is detecting. He is wondering if he should reset the APPS or something. I am not sure but I think each thing the EDGE monitors has it's own sensor? I remember there was a ton of wires all braided individually. Thought the speedo…

I was wanting a set of batteries for my farm tractor ...and. I thought it would be a good idea to buy a new set for my truck and use the good ones already in it to put in the tractor. I told the Interstate guy that I wanted group 31...he said no way will they fit. Sold me group 27s. Same rating as the ones in the truck although a bit smaller. WOW...I thought the ones that I took out of the truck were good, not so much compared to the new ones. It sounds like that air starter in the other thread. The tractor will start with the ones from the truck but not as good as it should. Warm weather is coming and things will be better for the tractor then. Regards Chris

  18. Bought truck from a friend that said it needed to warm up a few minutes before it shifted right. Test drive took 1/2 mile not shifting before shifting perfectly. I would let the truck warm up about 5 min and it shifted fine, for 4 months, 95% of the time. Sometimes, after just shutting it off, I had to drive around a parking lot until it shifted right or stopped and restart. I replaced the two pressure sensors, replaced the accumulator spring (was broken) with upgrade, and the bar( broken) on the front band adjuster. No luck. ONE TIME while driving around the block I shut it off, started it and immediately dropped into drive and it shifted perfectly through all gears. Non…

I've got a buddy that bought a truck that has a FASS 150 fuel pump and he's trying to find new filters for it. Anybody know of a place in Canada where he could get them? Lots of options south of the 49th but I can't seem to find anything up here.

truck died on the way to church. Originally had P0236 p0177 p1693 p0602 p0500. However These are all pretty standard for me with the smarty, no fuel canister, and having just spun the tires with the new turbo. I cleared the codes and no other codes came up after trying to crank again. Kinda odd to get a no code die and no start... but I'm thinking the vp44 randomly decided to die. Any thoughts?
