Been meaning to get to this mod for a while. My radiator is getting covered in oil and dust sticking to it so it was time. I followed @Mopar1973Man's write up on this for the most part. I did reuse the hose from the oem vent. I cut off the "J" part of it and used the piece that kind of jogs over a bit. It's a tight fit getting the pvc in it but it works. To paint the pvc I used rustoleum satin black implement/industrial paint. Dries to the touch in about 15 minutes and seems to cover and stick to the pvc pretty well. Thought I'd share a couple pics.

I think I am right but I want to be sure. On my 02 I have a schrader valve on my vp44. I want to install my fuel pressure gauge at this spot until my fass gets here. Can i just screw in my Grease gun hose in after I take schrader valve with out needing a banjo bolt? So it would be vp44 hole, grease gun hose, then needle vavle/ snubber and then Fuel pressure sensor from quadzilla.

I stopped by a Transmission shop a Custom TC shop recommended, and talked to Walter the owner This guy knows his stuff. He also uses Goerend Trans parts and TCs. He was working on a 48re and was showing me several tricks he does like machineing planet gear housings for needle bearings in stead of thrush washers etc. Showed me the TCS input shafts he uses etc I was helping a guy I knows son that has a Tranny shop, but he actually sucks compared to Walters work. Walters has a clean organized shop. Guys shop I was helping is a Mess. If a guy's shop is a mess, Tool left out everywhere, disorganised and laying all over the place and trash everywhere i…

Just bought a 2001 2500, 307 000 miles automatic, very clean and well maintained, I installed a mech fuel psi gauge, at idle 8 1/2 psi, at 60mph about 1600 rpm its at 7psi, is this low enough to hurt the vp44 ? iv hardly driven it as I am getting little stuff fixed first, iv ordered a Airdog frrp, its a stock motor and will stay stock and used as a daily driver about 6 000 miles per year and occasional light towing will this pump be suffiecient ? I don't know the maintance history of the truck as far as the vp44 being replaced nor the carter style lift pump.

When I pulled my 5th wheel trailer this weekend and when I turned the steering wheel, a couple times I got this jerky or shudder turn like it wanted to stop turning and I could hear a grinding sound like a pully going out might sound like. It did not do it every time and has only done it once while not towing but I do get a vibration at idle in the steering wheel all the time, flushed the PS system. New fluid. What say you, guys. Thanks in advance.

I have a 99 24 valve auto, when you put it in drive, reverse, or park... there is a big clank. I'm told it's my rear rack/pinion setup. Does anyone have a write up on replacing it and best place to order parts??? I'm more than savy under the hood but this rear end situation is a little foreign to me.Thanks

Recently lost my 3rd Raptor 100.Pure Flow was very workable and sent me the upgraded version of the AirDog 150 (an industrial version of it) and so far everything is hooking up nicely. Did have to run a "vapor return" line to the fuel tank but that was not difficult. Now I was getting ready to do the electricals and come to find that the wiring harness from the AD 150 appears identical to the Raptor 100 version.Anyone done this upgrade and seen the same thing? The relay is the same, fuse the same and hookups, as far as I can see, are the same. Cannot see any reason to un-do everything from the old installation and string new wire, relay and so on unless its something diffe…

I did the grid heater controller that i think MAYBE @IBMobile wrote up. Have had it switched off since spring. Everything was good. I lost a hydroboost and a gearbox this summer and completely covered everything under my hood in power steering fluid. Now its cold in Loserville ky and and i need the grid. My problem is when i turn my switch on the grid stays on all the time. Never shuts off until i flip the switch. I will admit i have not had the time to put it back to factory stock conditions to see what happens. Scan tool shows nothing. Any help/ideas are really appreciated. Thanks guys.

After 18 years of interesting CTD enthusiasts and transmission specialty outlets all contributing their method, or fix, to the well known TC lock unlock syndrome, I can no longer remain silent. Extensive review of many posts regarding TC lock unlock, the rerouting methodes, the add on filters for APPS and last, but not least,...the "tin-foil hat" brigade. I do realize that each individual or company that contributed to the vast amount of information on the web had good intentions and I must acknowledge that some of the procedures caused me to closely examine what these people were trying to do. I believe it is well known that even a blind mouse occasionally fi…

I have a 99 quad cab dually, with 5 speed tranny and 3.55 gears. It is basically all stock except for the AirDog II 150. I have Fuel PSI, Boost, and EGT gauges. I currently only see 16 PSI max boost. Is this normal for a stock truck? I have tried searching on the forums, and all I really saw is max numbers of what the turbos and engine can produce and handle. So, can I raise my boost numbers closer to 25 without a boost fooler? Its really not a big deal to me, seeing as how the truck seems to run great, but just curious. Basically, just curious about what I would need to achieve 25 PSI.I was also considering getting some RV275's. Will I notice any gains adding these right…

Hate to bug you guys with 101 questions.......I've been using Wix airfilters for years. Last one I bought (late last year) didn't have the foam material on the back. I thought someone forgot to put it on. Today shopped for a new one at Auto zone. Again no foam backing that Wix has put on for years. Looked on Amazon and the pic has foam backing but in comments others have noticed no foam backing of what is actually shipped. https://www.amazon.com/WIX-Filters-46272-Heavy-Filter/dp/B000C9UKTU Called Wix and their FAQ people said they are no longer using the foam backing and "but what is sold today meets or exceeds OEM". I'm pretty well stock, but I do p…

Noticed this condition a few times lately and its got me puzzled. Truck is experiencing a slight hesitation with acceleration when the truck is cold and not up to full operating temp. Almost like it’s a dead pedal for a split second at low rpms. Doesn't happen all the time and never after it’s warm. Scanned for codes and there wasn't any. Fuel pressure is good. (15-18 PSI). Low mileage truck (94K). VP44 is factory original. Wondered if it was Quad related, maybe the warm up mode feature I have enabled kicking in the power but it’s not. Any thoughts?

For some reason my truck has trouble starting. I let it sit for 3 hours or so and it has trouble. I thought the lift pump might have been the problem so I put an airdog 100 on it. Runs great when it's running but still having the same issues. I don't think it's the injection pump because it is never short on power. Every now and then it will throw a puff of white smoke right when I start it but that is only when it's cold outside. Any ideas or suggestions? I've run out possible suspects and could really use some new ideas.

Last year I had the dead pedal syndrome on my 2001 Cummins 3 hours away from home pulling our camper. I limped the truck home with the camper after our summer vacation. Anytime I would start from a dead stop, extremely slow acceleration. It would run down the interstate fine once up to speed. FF, I changed out the lift pump which must have been failing because it wasnt pumping enough fuel. Also replaced the stock exhaust to a 4", added 4 guages & installed the BHAF system. New tires, new ball joints, new power steering pump and I thought I was all set for awhile. Last week while hauling the trailer, I had the dead pedal syndrome once again everytime the tranny …
