Good evening to all I hope you have your favorite beverage and snack for this one as I've gone down a deep rabbit hole trying to bring this truck back to life so here we go! -----Short story, if you are having blower issues and the troubleshooting has basically stopped check the interior fuse panel to ensure you are getting good contact with your fuse, having an add-a-fuse can spread the little keepers inside the fuse holder creating an interrupt at the ignition source for the blower relay (pin 86 I believe).-------- In the process of fixing one of the numerous issues with my recently purchased 2001 Cummins I was at that moment…

Hi all. Thanks in advance for your time and wisdom. Second gen 24 valve. Quadzilla tuner. No "wait" light and no grid heater in cold weather, but from the voltage drop I can tell the grid heaters do come on after starting, even if the IAT is reading over 100 degrees (I can see what it's reading through the Quadzilla). Doesn't always come on, but most of the time it does when when the engine is hot. Already replaced the IAT sensor and no change in symptoms. Throttle position sensor (already replaced and no change in symptoms) often forgets itself. Have to turn off, back on, press all the way down and release slowly and start. Then w…

Hi all, so , recently had my fuel pump go belly up and decided to upgrade to an airdog, I know there were a couple options and I was planning on possibly adding power down the road so my research pointed me to the airdog 150. I call the airdog tech support and he recommends the $200 factory replacement with lifetime warranty, I'm game and get it ordered, only while I'm waiting for it to show up I find it's only got a 4yr warranty, and technically isn't a 150, I call the guy back and he admits he made a mistake, what would I like to do he asks? Well, what's my next option with the lifetime? Him; the 4g 150 and you use your stock filter and still don't have to remove g…

I have a 2001 Cummins 4x4 6 speed manual. With edge comp box. Valair DD Clutch. It has a small lift pump on the frame rail. The filter is an external unit from the LP. Also the previous owner said that it had an Industrial Injection Hot Rod VP44 Injection Pump. It is Otherwise stock. Today when I got into the truck to drive to work it had the Check Engine Light on. So I cycled the key three times and read the codes. They are PCU - P0163 P Done P ECU - P0237 P0382 P0380. I have noticed that when I get into 5th and 6th gear. If I’m not heavy on the pedal that it likes to shutter a little. Like fuel filter is clogged or if your in to high of a gear goi…

  6. Hey folks, I hope all is well and everyone is making it through these unprecedented times. I posted a little while back about an unusually high load on my engine. I knew I was due for some new injectors as I’m currently at around 145k miles. I finally got to install the new RV275’s over the weekend. While I had the valve cover off I adjusted the valve lash as well. What a difference that made. The truck runs so much smoother now. A nice little boost in power feels good too. It’s seems to be less noisy. About all I can hear is the VP44 clattering away now. Link to post Anyway, on to my issue. As I stated above, I am having issues with a high…

I have a problem with my 01. First it started showing it was over heating (which it wasn’t), then I left to go pick up a load of calves and the truck started to sputter, and then died and wouldn’t start. Changed the Ecm and I can start it now. But the problem I’m having now is the truck will run real rough and after a few seconds after starting but any load it acts like it’s not getting fuel. The p0118 and p1693 codes are still there. And a few others come up now and then. Any ideas as this truck is my source of income

Please help I'm at witts end. I just got 3/98 24valve and I'm trying to find out why it starts it right up, idles great and when you give it throttle in park for drive don't matter Motor doesn't go above 1500rpms . Got a code reader and it came up with what seems to be Dreaded P1689 code Which far as.I can find is something NO ONE agrees on of the cause!! I found this site from another diesel guy and I link I was given was here for 24valve 50\51 engine/obdii-error-codes94/P1689no-communication-between-ecm-and-vp44-r35/ I went through link and was able to get all way to #5 test which is checking ohms between #2terminal on FORM which is Supposed to be a "Whi…

So today I installed a brand new quad Adrenaline v2 with iQuad I drove the truck for 3+ hours with no issue with pedal response.. later on in the day while driving the volt gauge bottomed out. I pulled over looked over everything and it all appeared fine. I went a few places with shutting the truck off and starting back with no issue. I get home truck sits for 1+ hours I go out to install the egt probe after getting required bit and tap. I start the truck to a CEL I pay no mind as I idle into the garage. After I install the egt probe I start the truck and go to give it throttle with no response I check the DTCs to find the P0223 I follow mopar mans diagnostic with no luc…

Where is it located on a 98.5 2500 Cummins????? i read online it was a 13/16 either mine is different or I’m looking at the wrong sensor the one I’m looking at is on the drivers side of the engine. my edge insight reads a temp of 300 all the time. (Unless its cause of my no bus problem). But everything else works as it should.

@Mopar1973Man @Me78569 @Quadzilla Marco @Quadzilla Power Replaced both fenders this weekend so i had a lot of crap pulled loose. Quad set on default tune level 3. This morning on interstate truck wont go over 2000 rpm, wont build over 8 psi boost, feels like a complete dog. Power level bar was green then turned red after warm-up. Noticed power level bar go yellow a couple times while driving. Switched to power level 0 and truck drove normal. Checked all settings, changed tunes, switched back to default and still is a pig. Can't data log with my tablet. Couldn't get quad to connect to my phone to data log. Any ideas on what i screwed up?

Quick question for you injector experts. If I have read it correctly the “stock” 2002 Dodge truck 24v engine is rated at 235hp and the injectors are 7 x .0079? I have a “stock” industrial 2002 24v engine rated at 260hp and I pulled out 6 x .008 injectors. Can somebody explain to me how the “stock” Dodge truck engine makes less horsepower with larger injectors than the industrial engine does?

I am going to at least begin this mod today. I just received my 150amp breaker yesterday from Amazon, I'll still need to pick up an online fuse holder for the pcm as well. I do have a couple of quick questions. 1. What size fuse for the PCM? I read both 7.5amp and 5amp. 2. I read that the ac noise would affect cruise control somehow on a manual truck. I haven't used my cruise much, just wondering how it affects this? Any other things it could mess with? I will take ac noise readings before and after to see how this works out and report back when finished.

  15. Hello So I've been searching and can't really find a ballpark so I figured I'd ask 01 bummins. Trying to pass emmisions on it currently. Tripped the speed sensor and grid heater code came on (deleted from previous owner) replaced the speed sensor and drove it 130 miles to clear them. Speedo came back so I know speed sensors good. No change in CCM. Anyone have an idea how long this may take to complete the drive cycles if everything is good? I checked my scanner a few months back with it for another speed sensor code (Snow Donuts) and it said all my monitors were ready so I know it has the will to want to go green. Edit: when I was drivi…

  16. I have a 2001 24v and it will read 40 psi of oil pressure weather its running or the key is just turned to the start position. I might add that it still reads 40psi with oil pressure sensor unplugged well. I have tried a good know cluster and it does the same thing. I've cleaned all grounds and checked them. Anyone know what it could be?

My 01 Dodge 6speed is stuttering between 1350-1600 RPMs periodically. Its occurs under acceleration, typically at about 1450 RPM give or take 75 RPM. Never seen it happen above about 1600RPM. Its like a loss of power for about the count of .5 of one. Enough to know it occurred and then its back to normal. It seems to happen in the first 30 minutes of run time while the truck is still cold or cool. Fuel filters are new in the past 6 months (probably less then 10k miles) and its been occurring through at-least five tanks of fuel. I have re loaded my Quad Adrenaline tune and that does not seem to have an affect, i have …

I was curious on the opinions here on the use of seafoam to flush the oil system before an oil change. I have used the product before on gas engines with decent results. With a diesel engine being a more "dirty" engine and reading about possible valve and lifter bores becoming varnished with burnt oil on top of not knowing the exact history of my engine I was considering dumping a can in the motor oil and letting it do its thing to clean the oil system. Any thoughts? Thanks.

So I have finally got my truck up and running after an extensive amount of maintenance that needed to be completed as the previous owner neglected the heck out of this poor girl. While everything was being worked on I went ahead and did the full W-T wiring modification and the alternator PCM protection as well that @Mopar1973Man has been so awesome at spreading around to everyone. I did not check the AC volts prior to the maintenance and W-T mod. I went ahead and took a video of my results while the truck was running, unless i'm doing something wrong or have the incorrect setting my alternator is beyond BAD reading in at 1.04 AC volts which hopefully is the sm…

So I finished the W-T ground mod and was finally able to rule out the injection pump as my no start problem. Sort of. I followed the diagnostic from Bluechip Diesel and others to do some basic electrical testing at the VP harness. I verified that pin 6 was grounding, and pin 7 had power at the RUN position on the ignition but NOT on the START position. I didn’t check the power situation on the wire to pin 5 after reconnecting the plug because I didn’t have power on 7 at the start position. I also ran test leads to pin 6 from battery ground and pin 7 (fused) to battery positive. Truck fired right up. I couldn’t find anywhere on a forum so far where someone explains what m…
