Pulled the 5'er 50 miles to the lake. When I arrived, the idle was very rough and arhythmic. I mean this thing sounded like a 50 yr old gas burner that had never seen new plugs and contacts. The next day everything was fine. VP44? Eric

Folks it seems like as soon as I fix one thing another one breaks! I am having 4x4 issues with my truck. When shifted into 4-high or 4-low the 4x4 light comes on on the dash but the front axle is not engaged. The transfer case obviously shifts into 4-low so I pretty much have a 2-low scenario. I started checking vacuum lines but my HVAC and cruise work fine. The 2 lines that come up from near the transmission are what confuses me. One of them ties into the main vacuum line on the cowl. The other has a 90 on it but is not connected to anything, and I can't seem to find what it would look to. According to the vacuum diagra…

2001 coming up on 100K. Do all late 90's and early 2000's have killer dowel pin problem or just the 53 block? I know my odds of a failure are slim; coming up on 100K. But want to make sure. I'm unsure if "Mexican" block cracks more than the "53" series or if the killer dowel pin getting loose and falling is prone to one block or another or both? Thanks

I have an 01 cummins, the other day while driving 75 with the cruise on, my truck started to hesitate and jerk a bit. The truck then had a dead pedal and engine light came on and threw a bunch of codes. I had it towed back to a shop. The next day I went to see if I could figure any of it out. I changed the APP sensor and calibrated it to between .50v and .60v like the instructions told me. I still get dead pedal while driving and my coolant gauge goes all the way in the red when the dead pedal happens. I switched out the ECM with a spare one out of another truck in the shop and its doing the same exact thing like my old one. Im told I have an electrical problem but…

Well thinking my VP44 died during injector install. Background; Truck 2001 Dodge 2500 5.9 with 302K miles, DS Power puck, and FASS DDRP-02 that delivers 17.5 psi at idle and 15 psi at WOT. I replaced my tappet cover gasket about two months ago and needed to remove the VP44 at the time, looked at the data plate, and thought I took a picture of it, but didn't. It looked to be the original VP44, didn't notice and rebuild information. Restart went as expected bleed the system, cranked several time fired and ran fine. Then about a couple weeks ago, I decided to install a set of Bosch RV275 injectors. Install went as expected, torqued hold down bolts to 89 i…

I have a 2001 3500 4x4 5 speed with 4:10 rear end. The only aftermarket parts this truck has are as follows- flo pro 4" turbo back, S&B intake manifold, S&B cold air intake, Edge EZ, and Edge insight CTS2 (truck had the EZ when I bought it.). Here are my symptoms...The truck will de-fuel while driving down the road, BUT ONLY IN 5TH GEAR. The problem does not seem to be RPM related because I can fuel all the way up to 2800 (or whatever it is) in 1-4th gear. The truck has absolutely no hesitation to crank, or supply fuel in gears 1-4. The only consistency with the issue is it seems to happen after the truck has been driven for 30 minutes or so and only de-fuels in 5…

Yup. It finally happened to me. Dropped from 5th to 4th rolled up my power tried to shift to 5th again... NOPE so I'm stuck in 4th limped into Hoots Cafe in Whitebird, ID. Im glad my sockets with me. Quickly pulled the cup holder up. The the boots. Then the shift tower. Everything was good just jumped out of the gate. Push the center fork back to neutral. Reassembled. Took 20 minutes with basic tools. Now in Grangeville ID getting breakfast.

I have looked this subject of the HHO system over back a few years ago when it started getting more publicity. At the time, I was still in the gasser world and never gave it thought to a diesel. Now that I'm a convert and drive a diesel, I wonder what benefits there may be using this system with a diesel?I can think of a few things that need to be addressed at the beginning:- Hydrogen embrittlement- Low ignition point of hydrogenNow, as far as pre-detonation goes, this may be addressed by my VP44 and the CR's, but I don't think this is an entirely viable thing with the p7100's.Has anyone ever heard of using HHO on a diesel, or let alone run one?

I developed this miss over the winter and blowby pulsating out of the oil cap. There's also blowby floating by the firewall but that could be coming from the breather. I don't think i have a vacumm leak because my defrost works. Can bad injectors cause blowby? Here's a video, sorry for the wind noise. truckmiss.mp4 Sorry I dont know why my sigs not showing up. 154000 mile 6 speed, with edge comp and 5 inch exhaust. Mostly stock truck.

Is this a normal amount of dirt on the compressor blades? Turbo only installed a couple thousand miles. I run a stock style WIX air filter and it's fairly new and clean.

My Son owns a 2000 3500 DRW with a 47RE. He has been experiencing occasional symptoms of a governor pressure solenoid failure. He has not been driving the truck much lately, and has been waiting for the opportunity to get under there and replace the governor and related parts. He drove the truck yesterday, and now a new issue has come up. The Torque converter appears to be locked and will stall the truck when he tries to come to a stop. He managed to get the truck home by putting the truck in neutral and dropping it in or out of gear when he had to stop. I have never heard of a lockup issue quite like this one... Any comments or suggestions would be much…

Would like to ask if anyone on this form has any experience converting a 24V to a 12V. to include: injectors, injector pump, lift pump/heater, and fuel delivery from tank to engine?? Estimated COST, Shop Vs DIY?? Any and all input will be greatly appreciated.. Oh Yes, I'm a newbe to this form, and I have read ALOT of well written post in here on 2nd gen and 3rd gen tecnical topics. I'm currently loking at a 98 5spd CC 4X with 132K, I have'nt ruled out the evil 53 block yet on it, but the rest of it looooks way sweet and matches the miles.. Thanks again to all who read and post.
