    Thinking about attempting to rebuild my injectors. Possibly trying to increase the power output a little in the process. Can't seem to find any good info on how to go about doing this. Biggest problem I think will be parts for them if needed. Any ideas?

  2. Hey guys,I'm new on here but I have a question that I haven't been able to find a good answer for. When I first crank my truck it is hard to start whether hot or cold. When it does crank it idles fine. After driving maybe 5-10 miles and stopping at a red light the idle becomes real choppy. If I shut it off, it will fire up normally and idle just fine, but 5-10 miles down the road the same thing happens again. I have a fuel pressure gauge and for some reason when I was pulling a load it jumped around and then stuck maxed out. Every now and then it will jump around but I never get a normal reading like I did when I first put it on. I do not have a snubber or needle valve on…

    Is there supposed to be any type of padding or protection between the metal strap that holds fuel tank in place and the fuel tank? Front strap is held in place by a metal bracket that strap goes into. Metal bracket is bent …trying to figure out if it was bent on purpose, to prevent strap from falling off…just in case strap ever came loose or is bracket bent from road debris? Figure 14-110 in parts manual doesn’t show anything between strap and tank , but maybe some type of protection a good idea? (My old Ford had something like gunny sack material between tank and strap.   4. 98.5-----5 speed. Having an issue where I'm not getting the starter to engage the flywheel. Starter will go, but will not turn over the engine. Batteries are brand new as are my cables (I'm 100% sure that my connections are all good.....now ) The story........................   5. Hey guys, I have been having some issues with my truck under acceleration for a while now and need some help diagnosing it. My sig is current, and I have just replaced batteries, cleaned connections and coated with oil today. Before the battery swap I was having VERY noticeable surging under acceleration when cold, and it even started doing it while the motor was operating temps. I also had my interior and exterior lights flickering slightly while driving and was getting a CCD reading from the overhead off and on while driving. I drove it several times today after the batteries and I have no more flickering lights or CCD light so far. The choppy acceleration has gone away…

  6. Seems to only do this when it gets warmed up...Coming off of the highway, stopping, then turning, it feels like the rear end has a locker...It does have limited slip. But sometimes if feels like its grabbing when you turn, and you can almost hear the tires breaking loose a little. I did change the rear end oil @ 1 year ago. I put Valvoline duralbend synthetic blend 80w90 oil in it. And it says its for limited slip...Maybe try a different oil??

  8. Sunday morning the ole girl was deader than a door nail. No juice. :think:Had to go to my fiance and my wedding shower so I couldn't work on er till about 1800 last night. I threw a charger on it, not even 30 seconds later she fired up and ran like a champ. I took er up the street to make sure everything worked out all right, no issues.     I'm currently in the project of replacing u-joints and bearings on the front axles. How do I get the bearing housing off? (Of course I have already taken the four bolts out.. And the axle nut.) I have taken a solid hammer to it, including a chisel and 5 pound hammer. Any tips or tricks that you guys would recommend? Thanks in advance!

    Changed out a perfectly running HOVP44, for a SOVP44. Reason for the change was to help out in the top end, truck specs are: 2002 ram 2500, BD R700 twins, SAC 7x12 injectors (DAP), Airdog 200, springs & pushrods, arp 425's. We can't seem to keep the truck running now, impossible to start when hot, (starts fine cold), and if we immediately let off the throttle it dies. The SOVP44 was purchased from DAP. Batteries are brand new, full tank of fuel, no codes, timbo apps reset, blead the whole fuel system 4 times (high n low pressure), tried dropping the fuel pressure from 18psi all the way down to 12psi, no help, also pulled the Airdog fuse.     I have a 01 with bahf,quadzilla,air dog 150,triple disc torque. would like to do bigger injectors and cross tubes possibly. How big can I go with out problems? do I need bigger injection line? had a dragon fire injection pump on something went wrong after 2 months have metal chips in lines and where they meet cross tubes. getting new lines cross tubes seem okay.

  13. I started having the infamous up/down shifting around 43-47 mph this afternoon. I've found the link for recal'ing the APPS, but the links are dead for the ground wire mod. Can anyone steer me in the right direction for this? I plan on taking the troubleshooting one step at a time tomorrow. 1st will try the APPS reset 2nd will try the alum. foil around passenger battery to alternator wire 3rd would like to try the ground wire if the above fails to fix her up 4th will replace APPS if needed as last resort Anyone care to chime in and let me know if I have these steps in the right order?     I was coming back from AZ last week, up 93 to Twin Falls coming up grade engine started getting colder going up hill which is opposite of what normally happens. When I got back down on flats temp dropped down to 150. It was 19 degrees outside but that has never happened. Not wanting to stop, I continued on, blocked off radiator all the way and kept temp at 160-170 all the way home. Next day removed thermostat housing. To this? Went and bought new one at parts store. This is a first for me, never seen cracked broken thermostat. All is well now, lucky for me it stuck open. Could have been much worse, I might have got stuck in Idaho.

  15. I was turning the alternator nut to get the valves to TDC when all of a sudden the nut comes loose and now I can't get it tight because the pulley spins with the nut. I'm not familiar with how to work alternators or how to adjust them so any help is appreciated!!

    Hello all. New here......Just picked up a 98.5 2500 Auto trans 255K I have no cluster and says “No Bus”. Ive checked all the grounds cant find anything wrong. I got the truck from a friend of a friend and he said the cluster went out like a month after he had work done to the trans . My edge Insight only has code P1698 “no transmission bus messages” truck runs and drives fine and has for I believe years since the cluster went out Anyone got any ideas ???? I also need to reseal the vacuum pump anyone have any trick of in seas to make that job easier ? Thanks.

    02 ram 3500 4X4 manual 6 speed. I bought it in sad shape, wouldn't start. New items are batteries, battery cables, starter, alternator. At this point it would start and run, instrument cluster worked. Still no charging. I tested voltage coming from PCM, blue wire to ground=0. I had checked continuity of green and blue wires to make sure they weren't eedshorted or open. I'm assuming PCM was bad. At this same time I decided I would charge the batteries up. I removed them and charged them. Upon installing them I accidentally shorted black and red together on the passenger side with the driver's side hooked up.     Hi Everyone,I am a new diesel owner and just was poking around on the forum and saw a lot of guys use 2-cycle oil as a fuel additive in there trucks. I just have a few questions. 1) What is the ratio of 2-cycle oil to gallons of gas?2) How often can you add it to the gas? Is it an every other fill up type deal? Or is it something you always do?Any info on this subject would be helpful! Thanks.

    I haven't been on a forum in many years but you kinda need to go back to them when you have a real question that needs to be answered. I have an 01 Dodge Ram 2500, auto, Quadzilla, 75 injectors, 62/68/12 and a Airdog I run the Quad on the stock tune on the fuel saving tune and bump it up one when towing I just installed my 3 piece manifold so I have my Quadzilla and Edge CTS probes installed and have really noticed my EGTs. They seem to be around 800 in flat ground and up to 1100 on small hills. I was told maybe it has a boost leak which I have checked. My truck can hit 25 lbs quick but kinda seems to max out but my wastegate should open at 35. May…

    This has been going on for a long time now. My cold starts are perfect no hesitation fires right off. When I start the truck after work in the evening or whatever when it has been warm I fire it up and have a rough idle for like 10 or 12 seconds. Also accompanied by blue smoke. WhT the heck is the deal? Iv been putting up with it for a while but I worked on a 24 valve at the shop the other day that started and ran way smoother than mine.
