First of all, this is still our number one priority, and though it seems slow, we are getting ever closer to a finished product. I read a statement on a Cummins forum one time, …

will need to attack the balljoints on the 2000 ram, and I figured with the '98 probably needing it too, I'd snag a press and kit for removing/installing.Well, turns out the 2000 and up (until the AAM axle came out) uses a different set of tooling than the 1999 and down! What changed in those years? Mikes thread (the one that almost changed his friends' gender) said he 'got by' with the harbor freight press. Are most presses like this (getting by?) or is there something out there resonable priced, and effective?Seen several with the tooling that is 'close' but not perfect.. And I know that even the best made tool …

Well I added driving lights as a matter of fact 4 driving lights. I'm using 100 watt aircraft landing lights mounted in rubber tractor buckets. The reason for going to this is fairly simple. I've purchased several driving/fog lights. The biggest problem is the lens in normally made from glass. Well out here in Idaho most of the road are gravel or they use gravel on the highways for traction in the winter time. A good set of driving light would barely last a season before the lens was blown out by a rock. With the aircraft light the bulb is a sealed beam so the bulb and lens is on in the same. They are extremely bright and came light up as far as 1/4 mile down the road in …

Hopefully replacing my power steering pump tomorrow. There is a threaded pressure line at the bottom of the pump and then I think 2 return lines to the pump from the booster and gearbox. If they are both return lines, does it matter which stub the hoses are attached to on the pump? I was reading IBMobiles filter article and I may have my return lines crossed, but in theory it shouldn't matter. I also have a filter on the line coming from the booster to the pump where IBMobile has it on the line from the gearbox?

Its time to start looking for pads and rotors, front and rear, for my brake upgrade. I usually use ceramic pads from NAPA, lots of Adaptive One stuff and their premium rotors but I've been looking more for this project. Has anyone used Power Stop Evolution pads and rotors on their truck? If so which ones and would you use them again? Any other recommendations for good stopping power, brake fade, noise?

not only is there cheapo and high end ball joints available, but there is a choice of 'adjustable' caster/camber +/- 2-4 degrees. How in the heck would I know what I'd need, UNTIL new joints are installed??? There is no way I could get anywhere close to 'true' reading as shot as my current joints are! Is there a common problem on these dana's that an automatic 2 or 4 degree adjustment will correct? Or are these offset joints for the lifted guys... I am assuming they are only adjustable as to the way they are pressed home... after that, you have to drive em out and clock em to t…

Terrible year for mice in my area, my truck is the only one of my vehicle that have never had any in. Till this year, had one get in the fan and get decapitated by the fan. Had to pull the blower out and remove it. Truck still smelled like mice the other day, removed the blower again to make sure I had gotten it all out. Found the head of one in there, cleaned everything up and it's better this morning, I must have gotten everything out. Has anyone else had a problem with them and where do they get in. Bob

I am going to be ordeing new headlights soon and would aslo like to change the rest of my exterior lighting to LED's (excpet fogs). I just started researching the LED's and have a few questions I hope someone can answer. It appears you need to add a load resistor for the lights that blink. I aslo noticed that flasher relays are now made specifically for LED's. My question is is either one of the options viable for the blinkers, do you need both or just one or the other. Do the lights that are constant on need to have a load resistor added as well. Would the LED flasher relay work for towing? Thanks d

I noticed last week I had a tiny bit of play in one of my ball joints. I plan to replace all four in the next week or two. I wasn't sure if I would need an alignment afterwards or not.

So, my driver's side headlight is ok. well, as good as expected from the non-sport housings.. My passenger's side headlight, however, is PERFECT... ... for coon hunting, or anything else that is NOT on the road in front of you. It shines light everywhere but on the street.. It's not a dull lens, it's not out of alignment (per little headlight aligner dooka-ma-hitchie at the service joint.. It just refracts light, completely oblivious to anything resembling 'focused'. I'm gonna go out on a limb, and try swapping bulbs left/right to see if that does anything (doubtful) but it totally sucks to drive in the dark hours.. I'll try to get a pict…

Looking to figure out what may be causing my trip meter to reset itself everytime the truck is turned on. List of things I have done: Load tested batteries Cleaned all battery connections Checked all fuses Cluster test The trip counter works perfectly fine while driving, no errors on the cluster test, my clock never resets time, only the trip meter. Everything else works fine. Has my cluster gone bad? It's as if the cluster is losing constant power. Any help/input appreciated.

  16. Having to change front brake pads, with 270000 mi. Ive changed them more time than I can remember, I would like to hear some opinions on different pads, there is quite a price range on them at places like autozone, orielys and napa, from about 30 dollars to 90.00 dollars, I tow a lot and cant quite afford what it really needs, ( jake brake) I just tore into it today because of a leaky caliper to find out it has a broken piston so this on my list to do.

Hello, new guy here. I figured this is the best site to ask a specific technical question like this. I own a 98.4 Ram 12V 3500 and recently scored a NOS EVS II keyless entry module PN 82300986 on eBay. These work on a wide range of 90's Chrysler vehicles that were equipped with factory power door locks, but w/o keyless entry. However, to make this work with my 98, I need a specific wiring kit. Along with the module I purchased, a wiring kit PN 82202443 came with it. This will not work with my truck. I believe it's for an earlier model ram. The wiring kit that came with it has an 8-pin blue door connector harness, and my 98 has a 10-pin blue door connector harness. On…

My track bar just separated at the balljoint near the differential. Which is the best upgrade and why? I read on a few sites that the newer dodge pickups will match up front end components.? I also can turn the steering wheel about 3” to 4” before I get response for steering. What should I do to correct this steering and get it back to new steering. I have 285/75R 16 tires and stock 16” wheels. No other mods accept for a Darin’s steering stabilizer. The truck is a 2002 HO Cummins 2500 Sport
