I'm going to be purchasing a new dashboard after the first of the year and I'm looking for some input. I know Geno's has one for $330 and LMC has one for $220 that includes the vents on the side. Does anyone here have any experience with either of these replacement dashes? Obviously I'd prefer to go with LMC due to cost but don't want it to bite me in the butt down the road. ETA: Found an OEM replacement for $230 free shipping. I've heard the OEM replacement dashes are now made with ABS plastic but I'm not 100% sure. I asked the seller about it so I'll see what they say.

  2. Hi! I purchased a used replacement steering wheel from ebay. To my surprise when I opened it.. it has radio controls. My current wheel doesn't. I've researched a little bit but haven't found anything actually showing a conversion. Can it be done? I read that a new clock spring is needed? That I need to check under dash panel to see what type of CTM the harness is plugged into.. etc. And that I need an Infinity head unit. My truck has an aftermarket head unit but I have the factory unit out in the garage want to put it back in.. not sure if it's Infinity though. Is it more trouble than it's worth? If so... can I use this steering wheel anyway without going through…

So I put a new set of Cooper Discover at3 tires on about 3,000 miles ago. I looked at them today and the fronts are still new at 16/32nds but the rears are already worn to 13/32nds maybe a little less. -I'm not out doing burnouts or even launching starts. -Little to no hauling or towing with these tires. -Pretty much all highway miles with maybe 20 miles of dirt road. -60psi It should be noted that my last set of tires (Firestone Transforce AT) wore quickly also, about 20k and they were down to 4/32nds. I just chalked it up as junk tires. So what gives, I know they're softer tires but at this rate I'll be lucky to make it through the winte…

  4. It looks like it is time to replace my heater core. While I am in there I plan to change the A/C evaporator and the accumulator. Am I missing anything that should be replaced at this time? Looks like Napa, Auto Zone, and Rock Auto all have the same heater core a "Spectra Premium". Has anyone had any bad luck on the evaporator and the accumulator on a specific brand? I have watched a video on removal. Any tricks that I should be aware of? I know the blend door is important to position that properly. Any advice is appreciated!

So guys I have a question for all of you who had 265/75R16 tires from the factory that have upsized to 285/75R16 or 285/70R17. Who here knows or remembers how much the speedometer was off? How much was it off by?

  7. Will be putting new headlamp assemblies in.I sort of had my heart set on putting sports in. 4 headlamps HAVE to be better than two. (no I am not doing the projector bs etc. I would consider "crystal clear" etc stock replacements)I noticed there are far more choices for single bulb solutions. In the back of my mind I remember a couple people mentioning that the 2 bulbs in the housing didn't provide good reflective backs etc.I have ZERO concerns about new wiring. (either way, I will be going to control relays) The price difference (quad vs dual) is not significant enough to make the difference.Which will give me better lighting without UNINTENTIONALLY blinding others.…

My truck had a plastic drop-in bedliner when I bought it and knowing they are nothing but a rust factory I promptly removed it. After removing the liner I found a decent amount of lighter rust with a couple of heavier spots with some pinholes. I cleaned it up and hit it with some rustoleum until I could take care of it properly. I ended up putting in a rubber mat to keep coolers and other gear from sliding around in the bed and normally took it out once a week to make sure the bed was dry underneath. Well, I got busy and stopped taking the mat out of bed and ended up with this. I'm going to hit the rusted areas with a wire wheel until they're bright and s…

I recently bought a 24v and am trying to keep up with maintenance as well as possible. so i drained the water from my fuel filter and obviously lost three prime there was no solution in the manual or th parts and troubleshooting as to how to prime the motor. i tried to turn the key to the on position several times before cranking to see if it would self prime but it only continued to crank. i searched google and forums for the answer but could only find the solution of self priming. this did work for me however it took many many tries and almost an hour for my truck to start i know that the ignition process of diesel motors can cause a significant wear and tear. is ther…

I have been looking for a good bumper for a while and ran across this one the other day on C/L in grand junction, and practically stole it for 750.00. Its brand new never been mounted. its got a winch mount so ill be adding more weight in the near future. as you can see in the pic truck is sagging about an inch or two, so to level it back up would a leveling kit be a wise option or should I just buy oem replacement springs. These ones have about 280k on then so I'm sure they are getting a little week. Ive heard to stay away from those poly spacers but don't know, I've never dealt with the issue

New Issue: After I replaced the multiswitch on the console everything was fine. My buddy was behind me a few days later and said my brake lights don't illuminate when I hit the pedal. I checked all my fuses and my brake switch twice. They will light up the first time I hit the pedal then they don't light up anymore. Anyone have any ideas? After I hit the brake pedal once I don't get anything. I'm guessing all of these issues are tied together in some way. Resolved: My 3rd brake light switch fixed the issue. The first two must have been bad. I finally got one from the dealership(it was actually cheaper than O'Reiley's) and its fixed. I hook…

  15. Ok guys I been known to ask some Jerry Seinfeld questions ..... but I just need to know for sure... My filter has been on the truck atleast 60k miles. I've washed it the proper way... I don't normally put air pressure to it... but I decided to just to feel how much air I would feel passing through the filter.... I pushed some air from the inside out and could hardly feel any air going thru the other side ... I been having trouble getting above 25lbs of boost lately ... and I want to rule out the air filter .. .. any input on this is greatly appreciated

  17. I love old mopars. Mopar, (God bless'em) still makes legit 2nd gen (muscle car era) Elephant motors! They don't build the engines themselves, they contract it all out to various manufacturers and large shops typically around the Detroit area. Well, during my research I found out that there has been quite a few changes in who makes these new crate motors. Originally, it was a small high end machine shop that would take the raw castings and turn them into beautiful engines. Then, Mopar decided to go with the lowest bidder. Cummins. The engines that came from Cummins were 100% garbage. Crap in the engines. Awful surface finish on parts. Poor hone job. Castin…

  20. I had my truck on a lift today and was looking at the right rear shock... The plastic was melted. Quite a surprise. I think it happened towing this last summer. Lots of time droning at 1100 EGT with 100F ambient temps. Although, it could have happened when my exhaust dropped off of an exhaust hanger for a couple weeks before I noticed. It might have touched. As much as I hate to admit it, but does this actually make a decent argument for stacks?
