Hopefully replacing my power steering pump tomorrow. There is a threaded pressure line at the bottom of the pump and then I think 2 return lines to the pump from the booster and gearbox. If they are both return lines, does it matter which stub the hoses are attached to on the pump? I was reading IBMobiles filter article and I may have my return lines crossed, but in theory it shouldn't matter. I also have a filter on the line coming from the booster to the pump where IBMobile has it on the line from the gearbox?

Terrible year for mice in my area, my truck is the only one of my vehicle that have never had any in. Till this year, had one get in the fan and get decapitated by the fan. Had to pull the blower out and remove it. Truck still smelled like mice the other day, removed the blower again to make sure I had gotten it all out. Found the head of one in there, cleaned everything up and it's better this morning, I must have gotten everything out. Has anyone else had a problem with them and where do they get in. Bob

The project I'm working on that might be of interest to this forum is the 1948 Dodge COE with 1996 Cummins 5.9 I've got the structural and body fit problems resolved; current focus is on the harness; I've got a 1998 (12V) complete wiring harness, it appears that the engine harness is a pretty easy adaptation; now considering the harness came out of a traditional Ram 2500 I've had to make provision for re-routing some branches of the harness to provide for the much different layout required for the COE. My intent was to "strip" un-needed wires from the body/interior systems; specifically ABS, Airbag System, Seatbelt electrical components and Instrument components. I int…

My Sport model has always had this bumper dam, or valance, connected to the bumper and tied to the frame. I dont know why or what purpose it serves other than maybe helping air flow through the radiators... But, I see pictures where some 2nd gens dont have one. :confused013: Do you???

My track bar just separated at the balljoint near the differential. Which is the best upgrade and why? I read on a few sites that the newer dodge pickups will match up front end components.? I also can turn the steering wheel about 3” to 4” before I get response for steering. What should I do to correct this steering and get it back to new steering. I have 285/75R 16 tires and stock 16” wheels. No other mods accept for a Darin’s steering stabilizer. The truck is a 2002 HO Cummins 2500 Sport

So I swapped out my injectors today with a new set of RV 275s. I'm pleased with the performance boost and overall improvement in throttle response. My problem I'm having is that I have a plastic tube about 3/16" in diameter that has come loose and I can't figure out where it goes. In the attached picture you can see that one end comes from what appears to be a check valve maybe. Can anyone help me identify what and where this tubing is and where the other end may attach. On a possible related note, my interior vents have stopped working and they worked fine yesterday. My AC is producing cold air but the vents won't open. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I just replaced my brakes all 4 corners pads and rotors and new calipers up front. And now when I come to a stop slowly it feels like ABS kicks in. No lights in the cluster coming on. It does not do it every time I stop. Could it be the rear speed sensor ?bad wheel hubs up front ? I am lost and scared to put a trailer behind it till I get it fixed. Any help I would really appreciate it

Need a little help here as I am stumped. I just pulled the Vac/steering pump as a unit and fixed the oil leak with new seals and a new power steering pump. After everything was back in and fluids were topped off I test drove it and right away the ABS and parking brake light came on. I checked the vac line and its connected. My vent control works great so I know the system has vacuum. Test drove it and power steering works and brake pedal feels good but a panic stop locks up the rear brakes (no abs function). What am I missing? Truck is a 2001 2500 Cummins 4x4 extended cab. found a wheel sensor plug was not properly connected. Thx…

Anyone heard of putting a bit castor oil in the coolant to help the water pump? Heard someone mentioning that at the autoparts store.

I had a couple of these laying around https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B073ZBNBHS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and replace the dome light and the map lights with them. I also repaired the exploded springy map light switch in the truck today (a resent development) with the aid of some crazy glue and a zip tie for extra insurance. I'm sure some of you have encountered that seemingly common failure. Looks like the one on the driver's side already went through the process of fail and glue. I added a zip tie to that one too. I've been using these same LED light bulbs (link above) in something else for about a year and they hav…

I need to replace the speakers in my truck (99 quad cab) and just finished reading the material available on here. I don't know much about car audio, but I've done a bit of reading tonight and I am looking for some help on ordering new speakers. My truck must have (or at some point) had the infinity system. It has an aftermarket Kenwood CD deck and from when I put my mirrors on, I could see that the speakers on the back had that crescent shaped amplifier, which I understand is evidence of the infinity system. Are there any specific speakers that fit nicely and aren't super expensive? My understanding is 6x9s in the front and 5 1/4s in the back. Should I k…

so I usually never let my fuel gauge get below 1/4 tank and during my last drive I did just ever so slightly. When I took a sharp turn into the gas station my fuel gauge dropped right to 0 and stayed. I immediately shut the truck off and then bumped the starter to listen for the fass to run, which it did. So I let it run but it came up normally but the needle then vibrates quickly as it climbs to 17-18 psi. If I let it sit for a few seconds it settles out no problem. Now everytime i get slightly above a 1/4 tank it starts to fluctuate between 18 down to 7-8 whenever I stop or make a turn. Side note, this is an autometer 0-15psi…
