I fitted a new PS pump last year around August If I remember correctly, always seemed a little underpowered at idle but I thought it was down to my tyres. Yesterday I delivered a mower I'd sold to a guy 40 odd miles away using a 12ft trailer, anyway missed the house so had to do a U turn at a T junction, it was a bit tight and to be fair I held the steering on full lock for too long and too hard, all of a sudden steering and brake pedal are both hard, I got straightened up checked for leaks , no leaks but steering hard at idle, delivered the mower and drove home with no steering or brakes at low revs. Took the pressure pipe off and the fitting to get to t…

Hey all. So was cruising down a dirt road here at about 30-40 and gave her some fuel and tires broke loose a bit. With that, I got a bouncing vibration in the rear end and I’m assuming it was axle wrap. Is this normal since I have higher HP than stock with no trac bars? It does the same if I break lose on pavement too. I’m trying to figure out if it’s just the added HP or if something is worn and needs replacing.

I've noticed over the last few months that there has been a slight loss of coolant. I pulled back the carpet on the passenger side, and noticed the insulation under the carpet is damp. I'm concluding that the heater core is leaking. Here's my questions.1. If I wait until late summer or fall to repair this, and if I don't use the heater, will it continue to leak into the cab?2. I'm thinking this is a job that is too big for me. What should I expect to pay to have this fixed? Thanks to all who respond,Eric

Good morning folks. Hope y’all had a great Christmas! Amazing how another year has slipped by. Does anyone here have husky liner floor mats? I have tried to find pics of them inside a second gen but can’t and i would like to see how they fit and hear some reviews.

I have been having an issue that's come down to being a major pain in my ***. My truck began to have a slight miss in the pedal, rough idle and would die at times. So I ran some codes and Saw 0216. My mechanic said a miss in the pedal is probably the vp44 taking a dump. About 2 weeks later the truck died! All signs pointed to vp44 so we changed it out. Mind we didn't diagnose, just assumed that it died and wouldn't restart that was it. After changing vp44, 3 days later it acted up again. We check fuel pressures, and pressure tested the pump and checked for air. we found a voltage issue, a battery was shot, replaced it. Decided maybe it was the vp44, claimed warranty and …

i noticed 2 days ago my transmission got REAL hard to shift gears. well not out of gear, but into gear. i started double pump'n and it is better. i have nv4500 and i checked fluid levels(clutch master and trans). the trans fluid was full and still pretty clear. i flushed the fluid 30-40k ago and filled with dealership fluid. i noticed that the slave cyclinder doesn't have a bleeder valve. the chilton book says the hydraulics are sealed and don't need to be bleed.so...does it sound like the clutch is wore or like i need to bleed?

So when the weather starts to get a little cold outside my Clutch Pedal becomes squeaky when depressed. It is not the bearings or anything like that it is the pedal linkage itself. I have sprayed WD40 to up at the top of the pedal linkage connection but it doesn't seem to help or I am not hitting the right part. Anyone else experience this issue or have any insight? Everything functions fine it is just a little annoying. Seems I always have to find something to chase down on the rig.

  10. Hello all, I replaced the clock spring yesterday. And no cruise control with new one installed. On the old clock spring I would get it once in a while. But after install I took for a spin and nothing. No light in dash. Do I need to go in with my Snap On Modus and clear any codes due to disconnecting the air bag? Is didn't find any fuse. Or maybe I over looked it. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,John

Has Anyone ever had their radio short out?I know there has to be a short somewhere. One day as I was listening to the radio I parked and shut off the truck to do some errands. When I started the truck up again I didn't notice that the radio didn't go back on until I was almost back at home. After a few weeks of not having anything to listen to, I noticed after I started the truck up to go somewhere the radio went back on!I search all my fuses and even changed them out and look for any shorts. I even removed the bezel front from the dash and couldn't find a thing.Right now I am dead in the water.Does anyone have any thoughts of anything I may have over looked?ThanksSteve

Ok so my 98.5 has the overhead compass but i was wondering does it display the mileage? i have not been able to achieve that with it yet, if it does what is the combo of buttons to press to get this info? mine only has two buttons on it one on each side of the display. I know that white's truck does have the mileage feature but his truck is an 01 as well.

Ok so I was a little leary of doing this job in my garage but just wanted everyone to know that it was basically a piece of cake looked a lot scarier as far as the nuts being all rusty looking and stuff but once I started in on it they came apart pretty good put the ranchos 5000s in {thanks mike} and they seem to ride pretty good and half the price of bilstiens and this hell bent spacer is made pretty strong IMHO and leveled my truck out preety nice anyway its starting to warm up and im in the hunt for a set of injectors any thoughts as this is my next project leaning towards rv 275s but maybe a little bigger?

  15. I've managed to get the most out of a single device... The device is my LG G5 cell phone. I recently picked up a gooseneck cell phone holder . This turned out awesome being it will bolt right to the seat frame on the passenger side there is a bolt you can loosen and mount the gooseneck to the seat. Now with a bit of work routing wiring and hiding the wires I've got it cleaned up as much as possible. So what can I do with this setup? My Kenwood stereo has an AUX audio jack so all audio is piped into the stereo speakers. This makes hands free cell phone calls really great. On my SD memory card I store music and movies so when I'm down in Ontario, OR and nothing to do I can …

  16. My friends, I'm trying to understand the bushings that are on these tailgates. I'm confused on part #17 and #1 on the diagram. I just ordered two of the #17; those are the bushings that sit on the bed and the pivots (#5/#16) slide into (hence why it says 2 for quantity). I'm just confused as to what the #1 is for on the diagram. It says you only need one (1) of them? Right hand side only? It's weird because when I look up the part number it looks like what I just ordered (2nd photo). Again, I'm just confused on whether or not I need to replace another part (#1) or if I am missing it all together? I'm replacing this #17 because the tailgate…

  17. Am trying to get to the back of the radio to fuss with the antenna connection. Cannot see an easy way to do so...There is a cubbyhole made out of plastic right under the radio, inbetween the ashtray and glovebox.Looking at it, it appears that there is some sort of clip that holds it into the dash, directly under the radio but cannot for the life of me figure out how to release it.Anyone else ever done this? Thx,Joe

Anyone heard of putting a bit castor oil in the coolant to help the water pump? Heard someone mentioning that at the autoparts store.

I renewed both sway bar links complete about 18 months ago, now both sets of bushes are split again and it's MOT time. I had a set of Landrover 90/110 rear lower shock absorber polybushes and they are just right for the sway bar link bushes, the ones I have are a flat bush but you can get bushes with a cone shape on one side which would sit in the sway bar better. Could probably do with a thin tube spacer in the sway bay just to centralize it but I didn't have a piece of tube the right size Probably not much use to you guys in the USA but here in the UK and Europe landrover stuff is everywhere, cheapest on Ebay is £3.85 for the set
