I'm new to the Smarty, just got one. For initial install I disconnected my Edge EZ and reconnected the factory plug. The programming went smoothly, including the tire size adjustment (factory 265/75R16 to 255/85R16 -- 32.75"). Questions: In the future should I disconnect the EZ to change SW# and is it normal on initial ABS adjustment to show current tire size as 00.00" ? Also, to be clear --- Even SW# with Edge EZ and Odd or Even SW# Smarty alone? After ABS adjustment it shows current tire size as 32.75" and the 2 #s indicating currently vin locked to my truck. Thanks for any info, Joe

Would anyone be interested in a dump for the possibility in unlocking a superchips 3855? I paid for the unlock and sniffed the USB port for packet information, raw data, etc while the superchips had the unlocking info sent to it. I just like to use these to change tire sizes.

It was a direct bolt in like advertised for a stock truck with a direct mount exhaust brake. I did need to clock both housings and move the exhaust pipe back 3/4". I did a quick 1/2 mile shake down run to check for boost/exhaust leaks, all is well. The boost is preset at 26 psi, it was exact. What should I set it at, for 400hp? It dynos 400hp with RV injectors and the Edge Juice. They advertise 450 hp @ 40 psi. I will get a rebuild kit for the oem HX35W (340k miles) and save it for my '91. It has the stock HIC with a #16 turbine housing. It also has the direct mount exhaust brake.

I've been fooling around with moparman1973's tunes on my 2nd gen cummins and figured smoke was just a way of life. However I was recently cruising threads and saw a comment alluding to a required step to adjust something when tuning for a truck with large tires and tall gears. I think I have the absolute worst case for this issue so help or guidance where to adjust would be greatly appreciated. My concern is not mpg but rather managing the fuel and timing curve to light the turbo well and hopefully minimize smoke 2001 5.9 valair twin disk nv4500 3.56 with 35" tires. SB intake, holset cheetah, afe intercooler and piping, banks high ram, 150hp injectors, 5…

What I'm trying to find out if I produce kits of bulbs say like Exterior package of LEDs would you guys like to purchase a kits of LED bulbs for your trucks? Like for example the front switch back bulbs, rear tail light, LED backup lights, etc. I've just filed a application for becoming a vendor for LED products. I'm looking at expanding the store and adding more products. Now lets stay focused here on this thread with strictly LED lighting and I'll work with that for now. Like the external kit like... Red LED brake and turn signal bulbs Red LED cab brake bulbs White LED cargo light bulbs Front switch back bulbs -OR- front amber LED …

It's been so long since I've been on here or posted I couldn't remember my user name so I had to sign up again. This forum has always been the best place for anything cummins and I need some advice. On my trip to Lake Powell this weekend towing my boat I started hearing an exhaust leak while under load. Turns out my manifold is cracked almost in half through the runner for cylinder 4. Almost all the miles I put on my truck anymore are either towing my 10,000lb 5th wheel, 5000lb? boat or just driving up in the mountains getting firewood or hunting. I've been looking at the DAP 3 piece, adding an Isspro boost guage and changing my autometer Pyro to an Isspro to …

I only see a 30lb spring on their site. Anyone ever try one? Does it actually give 30lbs? That's too much. The spring in my unit seems to be getting weaker as time goes by. Stretched it a little and added a washer. Had 18-19lbs steady for awhile. Pressure slowly dropped to 15-16lbs over 8-10 months. Replaced seperator and fuel filters, no change in pressure. Added another washer and pressure is at 17-18lbs but if I drive about 50 miles or so, the pressure gradually drops to around 15. Will drop to 13-14 if I get on it. Hopefully it's just an old spring losing its tension and not the pump slowly dieing. Was just curious about the replacement spring air dog offe…

Im not very techy but I'm getting ready to upgrade my quadzilla to the v2, does anyone know if I can add more apps to an Android head unit like the Alpine iLX-W650 and use that for everything? I have pillar mounted guages so it wouldn't need to run the quadzilla guages all of the time. Thanks

So I posted back in December that I was having trouble with mileage in my 01 3500, and 6 months later I still am. Engine load at 65-70 usually hangs out at around 32-35 if the ground is flat, and the way my tune is set up (just like what is recommended and also based off tunes you guys have made) I'll cruise at about 15* of timing. I've checked everything for drag and still have found not brakes dragging or anything. Bout the only thing maybe out of line, would be at idle after it's warm it'll stumble a bit, but it still maintains the 6-9% load, I even saw it at 12% with the AC on. So anyways, would I do any damage by setting my load limit higher to maintain t…

Just out of curiosity, would anything bad happen if you set the timing statically on the Quadzilla throughout the rpm bands? I'm wondering what would happen or if the 24v would then act like a 12v.

I keep hearing how this turbo may be laggy . Yanking equipment trailer at 18k it builds at the same rate I push the pedal. I have smarty on 9 tm3 timing 4 duration 3. I am slightly worried about timing on 4 but it doesn't seem to be problem. I actually used to change timing to stock when I towed but decided to run it. Smoke isnt horrible much better than timing at stock. Just thought I'd share incase otheres on the fence . Turbo has been one my best mods. It flat just works I could do without the smarty and be happy Cool egts and getting decent fuel mileage Now I need …

Hello I know it's been brought up countless times, but I have a few questions regardless. I'm looking to give my truck a little more pep in her step with either some 100hp or even 120s. I was set on 100s until I messaged Chris at Ducky about some new ones. He suggested 120hp VCOs. And he was the only one I've talked to that didn't suggest a SAC. So i might be leaning towards 120s now. So now on to the turbo. I'm looking for something that will spool quicker than my hx40 (and hopefully keep the EGTs a little lower) I was looking at a Super B but I think I might want something different. Any one have any suggestions on this matter with the supportin…

Looking for injector/turbo upgrade for strictly towing. End goal is compounds but, id rather keep 5k into rebuilding the 200k mile engine if it needs it. I just purchased a 40' 2 car trailer that i use for my hobby demo derby and i will make multiple trips to New York to drop southern clean cars from my state of Florida to my brother. Ive upgraded a bunch on the truck since i bought it not even 9 months ago. I used Me78569 stock injector towing tune and it was great but was getting into 1250 on the egt temp gauge and Florida is super flat up north with the huge hills and grades i think turbo will be a issue. Most research ive done says a 62/68/12 is what i need with 100+ …

This is very long winded, but I figured it would save a bit on questions in the comments, plus I tend to ramble. I’m not sure if this is the right place for this or not, if it is not I will be happy to move it. In late 2018 I bought a 2002 3500 with an NV5600 more out of necessity than want(wrecked mine and had to leave for a job) it had 160xxx on the clock. A few scratches here and there nothing crazy. It drove decent typical 2nd gen problems that I knew of non existent dash top, ac was questionable , small but noticeable oil drip. The money was right 10k I bought it. Now I’ve always been a Powerstroke guy not a Cummins fan. So I knew little and less a…

Ok I've gone and done it. Since good Ol' @MoparMom passed away. I've now gone and pull my muffler back off the truck and went back to straight piped exhaust again. 4 inch diamond eye, without a muffler will talk to the neighborhood rather well if you deep in the throttle. Now once you reach cruise state its not bad at all. I was shocked at the amount of soot loaded up in the muffler it was like tipping the muffler and bang it once on the ground was like watching black powder fall out pretty good amount too for single tap. All the muffler can was loaded with carbon.

Curious, never used synthetic oil, just wondering what kinda of miles I can get between changes. I usually use Donaldson or Fleetguard filters. Thinking of trying Donaldson Blue filter with Synthetic. All these miles will be highway usually towing something between 4-7k. Thx for any input.
