Was wondering, we have list's and charts for just about everything for our trucks, but do we have a list of recommended/top/best fluids or favorites that everyone uses? It could be anything from oil, power steering, trans fluid to windshield washer fluid! I was just wondering what everyone liked to use so looked for a list, couldn't find one so thought maybe it'd be a good thing to have!

The previous owner of my truck ran straight tap water for who knows how long before I bought it which caused the cooling system to be contaminated with rust. I've been dealing with the issue off and on since buying the truck in 2011 and finally got around to taking care of it I was doing some research on eliminating rust from the cooling system when I came across a product called Thermocure by Evapo-Rust. It has some really good reviews on Summit Racing and looked promising so I ordered up a quart $26 shipped. I removed the thermostat and flushed the cooling system everyday for a couple days using tap water until the Thermocure arrived. I drained t…

I'm wondering what the cleanest way to tap into the transmission fluid is? Deborah sent me the owners manual for a transmission filter and it shows an inny and outy fitting right next to each other for the Trans line. But shows it in a rubber line. Is there a way to do it with fittings that go into the solid line? Or should I modify the short piece of solid line and rubber coupler from rock auto? Seems that I'll need to cut into the existing solid like anyway to install the line with Trans temp sensor output fitting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Ordered from Deborah at We Filter It. She said if we mension Michael that we get $20 off of a system. Hope that I can complete the install without fabricating a mount? Will it fit outside the exhaust manifold and not hit the hood?

I see that Frantz is a advertiser here. Did a search and latest Frantz entry was like 2009. Any comments on their systems? Would it be advisable to install a fuel filter system under the truck on frame rail? Anyone install a oil filter system or transmission filter system on their truck? - - - Updated - - - Got tired of waiting for an answer, so searched for info elsewhere. Here is an interesting read. http://www.cumminsforum.com/articles/articles/18/1/Anatomy-of-a-Frantz-toilet-paper-bypass-oil-filter/Page1.html

I want to install a Krantz paper tissue filter on my 2002 5.9 diesel dually. Can anyone tell me if the plugged second hole on top of present oil filter housing can be used for oil supply to the Krantz. I plan on using the oil filler cap with mod to return the oil to the engine. Any info on this topic would help Thanks Tom

Anyone done this to their truck? Which kit would you recommend? Thanks.... Even a one mile to the gallon gain will pay back these hubs in 14,000 miles. I think it's worth doing. I hear complains on the stock set up anyhow... leavin' guys stranded 50 miles from nowhere etc. unable to get to a dealer for parts.

When I purchased the truck in 2017 it was named The Dragon becuase I drove it home from Kingman AZ to Los Angeles blowing a massive amount of coal all the way home. Little by little I found mostly all of the causes of the smoke. There were many of them. The truck had a Power Edge EZ which was manufactured in 07-29-2002 I suspected that it could be contributing to the smoke issue and it was. I took it out and cut the smoke down about 30% At that tie I had exactly zero knowledge of tuners. I'm now about to learn about them, particularly the recommended Quadzilla. The description of the Power Edge EZ is as follows: The …

Anyone have issues with this? I for the life of me cant seem to figure out how or where water could be getting inside the cable. It has been isopropyl dipped and dried, lubed with cable lube and yet it still freezes. It's not even that old, four or five years at most. I plow with this truck so moisture is definitely an issue getting into everything it shouldnt but I just can't find the source of water ingress. Anyone have this issue? Is there a better aftermarket cable to buy? A modification?

Not sure if I agree with the diesel 911 testing, cause doesn’t it go in the tank AFTER the fuel is gelled? But other than that, seems like a solid testing effort. i don’t know the guy, but wanted to share.

Hi all, I was wondering if we could start a good fuel additive thread, something that covers 2 stroke in depth as well as other conventional, off the shelf stuff. Also, what adding cetane does, and how sulfur factors in and parts per million and emulsifiers an all. I bring this up because I was part of a recent thread on another forum where a guy was asking for opinions on Howe's Diesel Treat. I commented that I would just stick with 2 stroke unless you are somewhere really cold, then I would add PS white bottle too, in the appropriate amount of course. Anyway someone chimed in claiming that 2 stroke is mostly just kerosene, and that he had the MSDS to prove it. Same…

So I've been reading about swapping over to the later 2nd gen "01-02" fuel canister/filter. I am curious just how much better the later model canister flows compared to the original? Will the current filter set up that is on the truck keep my fuel pump from adequately fueling the injection pump? Thanks.

For some reason my fuel economy jumped about 3 mpg this last tank. Any ideas why? I've done nothing to warrant the jump. Different fuel blend, hot weather? Been buying my fuel from the same location.

so after having surging for a month or two after startup, I finally found my air leak. problem is, its on the top where the two wires come into. how do i fix that? can i pull the rubber boot off of it and replace it? then re solder the wire on the inside? is there a special type of solder to use? i dont want to solder it and the stuff comes off and goes into the IP, ( not good at soldering) or am I screwed and im buying a new one, is there anyway that i could block it off> what does the wires do exactly on this.... i grabbed a pic offline to show where its at.

I've noticed that since I installed a Raptor 100 and have 14+ psi consistently, after the first filter change the filter is going a lot longer than it used to. I bet that before the new pump I was returning little or no fuel to the tank. Pressure was too low. I've noticed that the first stock fuel filter change was very black. Now I can go 10,000 miles and the filter is still white. I think that first filter scrubbed all of the built up junk out of the system. I am still getting some crud on the inlet filter of the raptor. My intention is to install a simple metal inline filter on the suction side Of the fuel pump. I am thinking of installing a couple of isolation ba…

Having a little problem. I searched and didn't find an answer. I have internittent hard starts. Hard to isolate a common denominator except when parked at an angle. It always cranks extra before firing then. Other times it just does it, whether it's been sitting for awhile or just a few minutes. This is the problem that doesn't bother me too much. The other problem is there is consistantly fuel in my oil. These problems just began when I installed my new injectors. This was my first install and I took my time and follwed Mike's instructions. No big deal or problems on the install. Since then I have noticed that I have fuel in my oil. I changed my connector tube o-rings an…

I swapped my stock injectors for a set of DAP 7x.013's last week. Checked the oil level before I started it up for the first time and it was midway between the lines on the dipstick. I ran the truck for a day and checked the oil again and it was about 3/8" above the top line. So I'm definitely getting fuel in the oil. I pulled the valve cover and ran it and saw nothing. It was a bit tough to get down to each injector and inspect closely because of the fan blowing in my eyes, but from out of the fan wash area, I couldn't see a thing leaking. I never had fuel in the oil before this, so it was definitely something related to the injector swap. Bad injector? Do I need to get …
