I need to purchase a good impact. The Craftsman I bought years ago is getting old like its owner. Seen a lot of IR's in shops and people seemed to like them. Any suggestions, please? Thanks,. Leaky

Well gang... I might just retire the old method of written hand logs and finally move up to an electronics means of logging fuel and maintenance on the trucks. I found an app named Simply Auto for Android. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mrigapps.andriod.fuelcons&hl=en_US The part I like about it is that is for the $4 dollars you can have 3 different drivers/devices adding to the logs. For example, if you have your phone on you and you add fuel to the vehicle your wife/girlfriend device/phone will be updated as well. If she now takes the vehicle and has an oil change done she can update the app and you'll know the task has be…

  3. My dad keeps bugging me to learn how to tune using HPTuners, but I hopped on there to get started and I'm just so overwhelmed by everything. Could someone lend me a hand and help me understand what I'm looking at and narrow down what I need to focus on to tune a truck? Recently I've been interested in doing it but with all the timing correction tabs and such I couldn't even begin to know where to look or narrow down what I need to focus on. I'll love you long time if you help me out lol. Thanks!

  4. Thanks for the post EricPeterson on Cumminsforum So there's talk and talk and talk about the Thuren front toe-on specs ( zero or near zero ) vs. the stock toe-in specs ( 1/8" ). And there are tons of comments from guys who adjust toe themselves. And yet in the couple years I've been on here, I haven't actually seen an explanation of that. So let's address determining if you've got too much toe and then the pitfalls of having someone else try to set it for you, and then I'll post some easy pics. First, there's a simple way to tell if you have too much toe-in long before your tire edges are scrubbed off. Look at the finest cut lines inside the blocks nearest the o…

With a heavy heart I sorry to inform those of you that had the pleasure of meeting "Diesel" he has been put to rest today. My 10-year-old truck buddy started degrading and having neurological issues and troubles even walking or standing up. He's no longer suffering. Diesel will never be forgotten. Does anyone have a preferred vendor for diesel parts? I need to buy a new lift pump & a pick up tube kit & would like to talk with someone that A: could find a fuel tank in the dark with both hands. B: has an online store that has good prices. I have bought from Geno's, Alligator & some other online place before & not had a bad experience, just figured I would ask if anyone has a place that they love.... thanks Bob

We've seen in past years other members, like @The_Hammer, take a hit to their property during a hurricane but be all right. @dripleyis hunkered down in his trailer at Columbia, SC. Hope his feathers stay dry. So let's give thought and prayers for protection and safety to those about to endure the fury of hurricane Florence.

I don't know what it is with the 60 miles of I-40 between Grants, NM and Gallup, NM but there always seems to be bad crashes. The last one is probably the deadliest in recent years. Anyway if you find yourself traveling this stretch of road be safe and alert. https://www.koat.com/article/what-we-know-about-deadly-crash-involving-greyhound-bus/22877247 https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1727600570700099&id=263743636076&refsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F&_rdr

Took the wife up into the Zuni Mountains for some sightseeing. I've been to Timberlake by Ramah, NM many of times throughout my life and never noticed these ancient cliff dwellings until now. I thought they were cool and figured I'd share.

At my son's work with the Saturn. I like his ramps. No more shin knocking on the bumper And the center sections come out for easy access. They are nade out of high density foam. There appears to be some sort of plates attached to the foam on the tops and sides. Then appears to have some sort Rhino liner sprayed all over it. My back is happy.

Hi fellas! I’m just starting out into the mechanic world! Been working on my own vehicles for a while but I’m now working on other people’s cars and trucks. I am starting a full time job soon. My question is wha do you think a young man is worth as far as price to charge per hour when it comes to mechanic work? Some professionals can charge anywhere from 60 to 120$ per hour and I know I’m not worth anywhere near that of course but what would seem fair to you guys?

Today's 4 hour project was to split a Kioti tractor in half to troubleshoot why the clutch wouldn't disengage. Clutch is shot. This tractor has a turbo charged 3 cylinder Perkins engine.
