If your in a bind message me here I may be able to help or know someone who can. For those that dont know Elmore county was hit by a dry storm today 10 fires are now ripping. We dont have much to burn anymore other than cows and houses. We try not cook em on the hoof and keep our houses safe. I am always amazed how this time of year we come together as community machines, those with horses headed after cattle in fires path. Theres is no end of help. Be safe you all

Now seeing all the pins on the Members Map I would like to offer another great idea to everyone. It would be awesome to vote for a president of a region or state and then start making group meeting or get together's or wrench parties. Where states get together possibly in the summer where everyone meets up and get to know each other. Come on guys I know you'd love to get together share your knowledge with other members. Just in the small handful of people I met in person and the few hundred I talk to on the phone are all great people why not all work together and aid each other? https://mopar1973man.com/membermap/ The map is growing daily and the…

Truck had an active fault for DPF soot load high and SCR conversion efficiency low. After about an hour of Regeneration and approximately 5 gallons of diesel fuel burned the soot load fault went inactive. Might be a DEF ball in ATD preventing the DEF from reaching the SCR Catalyst or defunct NOx sensor. Conversion efficiency has to be 85% or greater at all times to make the fault go inactive. I just replaced the cylinder head from a dropped valve which caused the engine to run dirty so I may try another Regen to see if NOx output from the SCR cleans up some more. I don't think I ever will own a EPA10 or newer diesel engine because of the constant ATD issues. Here's a pic …

I found an awesome website that is legal MP3's. Just do a search for the song title. If the song is out on Youtube it will converter the song from Youtube to an MP3 for you and download. This makes it really nice for grabbing a few new songs for your trips in the morning. https://www.mp3juices.cc/

It’s been awhile since I’ve visited the forum and wanted to stop by and say hi. Not a whole lot has changed in our world, still recovering from Harvey and trying to get our heads right. Tore down our old house last week which was definitely bittersweet but needed to be done. Still enjoying living in the RV and are really glad we got it. So how have y’all been doing?

The boss, Chris is heading to California with the 1998 Peterbilt 379 and lowboy to haul firefighting equipment for the USFS so he talked me into cleaning it up so hopefully California doesn't hassle him too bad over his 20 year old truck. I decided to polish up the wheels and fuel tanks. It's been years since I've done it but I guess it's just like riding a bike and I never forgot how to.

...almost identical. But it is an automatic and a slightly later year based off of the alloy wheels. Small world

Are bosch products above average or so so. I'm planning on couple of months to add a line fuel pump to a small class C RV. Going to be under the thing messing with other stuff so might as well add inline pump, in case regular in tank fails. And only want to do this job one time. This is GAS not diesel. Custom welding shop guys say they like bosch 044 and hard to go wrong with bosch. I dont need that kind of psi. Only 20-40 psi on small V8 Have you had any experience with bosch products other than vp44? What do you think about their products or who makes a good gas inline GAS fuel pump?

An old B model Cat. One of the first engines I learned to work on. Doesn't roll coal and has very responsive throttle. Best of all no electronics, no emissions, and just a good old work horse. This one had a nozzle line rubbing on #1 intake rocker causing a fuel leak into the oil. Replaced the nozzle line and running like a top again ready to go drill some wells.

I saw a video the other day thats been going around on Instagram, of a single cab newer Duramax running away and I got to thinking..... That is the 5th video I've seen of a duramax running away and blowing itself up in the last 6 months or so and I havent seen a Cummins (unless someone was tuning a VE) or a PowerJoke run away and grenade itself. Is this starting to be a common problem with them? Are the Borg Warners that they use a bad turbo? What do you guys think? I just see it as another reason to NOT buy one and another vehicle to Cummins swap.

Finally after 10 plus years I went in and got new glasses. My old glasses where giving me random headaches and struggled to read road signs and some days even the computer screen. Nice part is this is the first time with polycarbonate lens. Wow! Much lighter on my nose. So here is my at home desk glasses. Geek stylin' Now my driving glasses and clip on polarized shades. I've got a wide range of vision so the larger lens really help with driving.

Started unloading back of pick up from full timing all over US. (Been stuck at home 2 yrs) goood thing I had air bags for all the junk I used to carry. And I still don't know much about these 2nd gens. But when we broke down I would find article in a TDR that I thought might apply and read it waiting for tow truck. Now all online if you need them and with this site I don't think i'll be needing them any more. Free but you pay shipping... first come first serve. ?? I'm sure this (collectible) collection would enhance every mechanics dream.

Do you see it? Here it is... I was out with a friend today scouting for firewood. Just below our first spot on the way back we spotted this little fawn pop up of the edge of the road it spotted us and laid down instantly. Not knowing where Momma was we were not going to get out of the truck. So we quickly snapped photos of this little fawn and moved on down the road.

Since I’ll be hooking up the wood stove in my shop this summer I figured I’d get a bigger saw to help with the wood gathering. I’ve got a Stihl MS260 with a 16” bar that’s perfect for camping wood, but I don’t want to strain it with more wood. I’ve had my eye set on a Stihl MS 361 or 362 for several years as my next saw. I was willing to buy a new 362 since they are a rare fine used. I’ve got a wood cutting trip coming up in a couple weeks so this was the week I was going to pony up and get a new MS362 with the wrap handle. This morning I decided to do one last Craigslist check and there it was, less than an hour old....…
