Is anyone running chevron Delo in the Older Gas hotrod/classic vehicles that have flat tappet cams for the good higher zinc/phospahate content? Chevron still shows a PDS (product data sheet) on their web site that shows the zinc/phosphorus content of .13/.12. I called chevron tech guy and he confirmed the zinc content (By the way chevron discontinued the older Delo multigrade the pre Delo LE oil) Unlike Shell does not show the zinc/phosphorus etc numbers of Rotela Anyway I have a older chevy sm block performace built motor with a elgin comp cam flat tappet etc. I am debating running my regular valveline oil and ZPPDplus oil additive http://zddplus.com/. Or just r…

Most of you know about what's happen to @MoparMom. Since then I've made some decisions here to improve the house and lessen the worry of staying warm. So with her medical issues at hand, I figure it was time to make some improvements to the house. I've pulled the trigger to install modular heat pump system for the house. Today the Heat/Air Conditioning Company was out installing the modules in the bedrooms, kitchen, and the basement. It's a 4 module system. All independent settings with remote controls. Here is the kitchen module which will cover the entire living area as well. Here is the remote control for the kitchen module. …

Backed a concrete truck on site the other week. My truck was about 100' away and in the way. Walked up to it, got in and by the time I got the key in the switch, BAM. The concrete truck hits me and starts pushing up the road. My concrete foreman is walking along beside me, looks at me then the truck and just keeps on walking. I had tell him to tell that driver to stop. So this is what I got. Hit me with the chute. The concrete company sends a couple guys out and they start talking insurance claims and all that. I tell them I can find one for $150 or less almost any where. Anyway They call me the next day and said they me a brown and could not find them a blue on. I te…

Has anyone seen the Nasa video of the Ice sheet melting since 1984 in Antartica? It's really dwindling down. Some years showing significant sudden change. Folks I talked to moving out of California say even the cool fogs don't roll in from the coast causing forests to start dying. They say you can see dead trees all along the Santa Cruz Highway. I saw significant numbers of dead dying trees along I-5 around Mt. Shasta and that area always has been greener than any place on earth. Anyhow when you see the Nasa Video you'll know it's not just drought. Maybe someone could put up a link... it's on CNN. Pray we get a cold winter/ Loads of snow in the mountains.

Found a deal too good to pass up on Monday. Found a 34HP 4 cyl diesel 1987 L2850 Kubota 4x4 tractor 1700 hours with loader and fairly new tires, implements it came with were a 6 foot JD finish mower and a 6 foot rotary brush mower and a box scraper and cultivator, package deal for $4500. Can sell off the mowers and other stuff and recover close to 2K there alone.Tractor and implements all in super shape but the project portion is that the engine has a bad knock. I did not start it to not cause any further damage but did crank it over to confirm it does have one. So I plan to drop the oil pan shortly to inspect and see what broke and what direction I want to go. …

Yea... I finally pulled the trigger and took a day off and go play in the woods. I did a full loop from Home to McCall, Idaho then up Warren Wagon Road, then turned off at Burgdorf and headed towards Riggins, ID. The hit the highway and returned home. Just about 130 mile round trip. 2/3 of that trip was on dirt roads.

Whats best? Hand held units OK for close range? I know antennas are very short lower than my rv roof but will it affect close range with other RVrs? Side Note: Talked with a guy today involved with emergency response, says we all should have CBs because the possibility exists that common communications could be compromised some day with power grids taken out. Sounds good anyhow.

The owners of 4 Elements Waterproofing is going to hold a birthday party for both of us tonight. I'll have to shot a few pictures and post up the fun tonight.

Last month I bought a Browning XBolt 300 WIn Mag. Very nice gun and shoots like a dream. I am now having issues with the magazine feeding bullets. The magazine holds 3 cartridges, but the second bullet intermittently fails the come up and the 3rd will never without removing the magazine and taping it. Not a huge issue at the range, but hunting it would be pretty annoying. Browning said that they'll swap me out, but my hunt starts this weekend and I don't have time to send it in. I've tried a light brass resizing oil and liquid graphite in the magazine to give it some lube. Both work well, but only for a couple of rounds...then it wears off and I am back to where I …

At my mothers house her backyard neighbor's lawn is graded 8 inches too high. It is creating a drainage issue which you can clearly see from the pictures. This has been an issue ever since the (her/our) house was built. A couple months ago, a surveyor from the city was sent out and the grade is in fact 8 inches too high making him in violation. The city cannot force him to do anything about the issue and which essentially leaves my mother to take civil action. He was sent a letter once from the city since they came and surveyed saying that he was in violation (I need to call the city to get a copy of the letter to see what it stated). We really do not hav…

I've got a 99 ram 1500 that I picked up for cheap.... someone will want to slap me, but I paid 300 bucks for it with a blown motor My neighbor's daughter kept running it without coolant and burned up the 5.9L V8. The junkyard was going to give him $400 for it but he had to drag it over there. I asked to go picking on it before he took it down for my 02, and he said if you get it off my property in the next 10min you can have it for $300. My dad and I have been indecisive on what to do with it, but now I want to drop a motor in it to bring to school. I don't want my mint 02 getting stolen again. I could care less about the 1500 Anyway, does anyo…

I just got home from an 18 hour drive. Way too tired to explain, but going to get this thread started. When i get some rest, I'll go into details. To summarize quickly though, if it weren't for MIKE, this trip would have never happened! The hand of God literally guided us to and fro! It was an exciting time and i hope i will convey it properly to help fully grasp what happened...
