Having an RV is almost a needed item now a days.....
It is easy to be pessimistic about how the country/world is running. But I refuse to think that it is all bad. There are so many great things happening in the world and more great people than you can imagine. The crazy and shocking stories will always capture attention and media, but the countless kind acts that happen everyday will continue to go unnoticed. Scripture prophesies of the craziness that we are seeing. We are told of wars, earthquake and other disasters. But the promise to the righteous is, has been, and always will be peace and happiness. The second coming is called the "Great and Dreadful" day for a reason. For some it will be great and welcomed, others maybe not so much. I cannot control what others think or do, but I can control my actions. We are told to "Choose ye this day whom ye will serve..." As for me and my house we have chosen and will continue to do our best to be obedient to God's commandments and to follow His son. I am certain that as we continue to do our best we will be happy and have joy in life.5 points

HELP... rear brake issues
2 pointsHmm... just doesn't seem like a smart thing to do. Proportioning valves are in everything for a reason. I can see the larger cylinders, but at least put in an adjustable valve.2 points

Heck I saw a sales pitch on regular TV about how women will love you because this pill will make you bigger. Now that stuff should not be selling on regular TV programming. I'm old so cannot remember exactly when the advertisement was on but, I'm shocked to say that I think it was on early Sunday morning...... was trying to find a good Sunday Sermon. You know without God there is no right from wrong and them bad examples make the kids believe that. As far as I'm concerned there is so little real discipline in school that there really is not much education. And they want gun control instead of teaching our children proper Godly principles, meanwhile Terrorists are permeating every border. Just like Billy Grahams daughter is now saying, we are seeing the beginning of the end times as America goes down the tube and the world is seeing enormous problems in weather, wars, economies, etc.2 points

Dont get me wrong ya bunch of haters.....so if I may explain myself. 600 miles means at least 12 hours there and 12 hours back. Thats approximately $300+ in fuel, food, and time off. And since I'm self employed that means at least a few days without the all too critical paycheck too. I can see the dollars racking up against me fast.....and I have a family who relies on such monetary items for inconsequential things like food and clothing. Our vacations are limited and trying to explain that this one will be spent with forum buddies probably wouldn't receive much warm praise. So yeah maybe I dont go many places these days.....but I dont just drive a 2nd gen only because they're the epitome a diesel pickup truck. How about I just post a picture of my smiling mug and you all just imagine how much fun it would be with me there.1 point

HELP... rear brake issues
1 pointWhy did you remove the proportioning valve??? It's in there to make the truck brake properly, especially when unloaded. I'd start with putting that back in.1 point

I was thinking the same thing as I read all of these comments. I wish we all lived closer together so we could all meet up and hang out. I sometimes feel like we are/could be good friends even though a lot of us have never met.1 point

Just like coming to the big city of Boise. It's crazy around the city. Everyone in hurry. I'm always glad to heading back out to the forest again. Much simpler world less confusion.1 point

I agree with you 100% Russ and everyone here. I must say I was lucky that my Grandpa and I did take a lot of trips together to go see family all around California and Nevada when it wasn't so crowded. We would get in my 64 Malibu and really go see some countryside. Sometimes we would take his Cadillac he'd always have me drive, was a very cool car. I learned a lot about many things from him in my early 20's. He talked a lot about how having God in your heart is so important and then would go on about gold mining or cutting gem stones as he used to do to help support himself even in his 70's and 80's.1 point

We not only didn't have TV but had a 4 party line phone when I was small. I never did figure out that different ring business. We did finally get a TV when I was about 11 or so and eventually private line phone. I wish I had chatted with my Grandad even more than I did about things when he came here from Switzerland by himself at 16 years old, 1906 I think. He did have an older brother around Vancouver or Portland who talked him into coming. One thing he used to say quite a bit was that progress was a wonderful thing but I somehow think he would not still be saying that. Sure sad the way many things are now but it is reassuring to see at least more than a few here feel much as I do about all this stupid junk going on. There is hope yet!!!1 point

Those are the things I love to sit down with older folks and hear the tales of the early 1900's. Heck I remember growing up and barely had 7 channels of color TV, old rotary phone you stuck your finger in the hole and spun, point ignition on engines and AM radio was rather popular yet. I've got tools most puppies would know how to use like a dwell meter and and a timing light. Even in my teenage years the Internet was Gov't only use and wasn't public yet. I even created my first BBS or forum back in 1994 with an Atari 800, 4 floppy drives and a modem. All set on a timer and ran from 6pm through the night to 6am. All built on Atari Basic. Heck as a teenager I working in a printing company and their old computer ran with old 8" floppy disks. Heck now we got phones that can do everything standard desktop computer can. I've watched the world of computer and electronics change around me rather rapidly. Like my ITT Tech degree was for electronic science. Back then I was just getting my feet wet with IBM 8088 Intel processor the first AT clones as well. Now all my degree today is not worth a dime being who uses transistors much any more? Most all electronics are be created on IC chips and stuffed all in one mini-package. So as for social changes here we are... Back in the days you watch TV foul language and nudity didn't happen today everything is about sex, drugs and partying. Back when I was growing up there were certain topics or subjects that were taboo to discuss in the public. Now anything goes heck just post it on Facebook for everyone to see regardless if it was sexual, illegal activity, etc. I'll admit living where I do has it disadvantages... But being out here disconnected from the world and not having to deal with these problems is priceless.1 point

Having an RV is almost a needed item now a days.....
You hit the nail on the head on irony in this country. These sort of things really make me wish I was born 80-90 years ago. It seemed back then that people just knew what was right and what was wrong. They didn't need anyone to explain to them how they felt and no one tried to sway a person one way or another. It was cut and dry, plain and simple. Something missing in today's society.1 point

NV4500 Questions

always expand or "rights" as it is the government is taking away our rights at an alarming rate. i think of the live n let live. we humans are just another animal on earth. male, female, the human body is what it is. the people and dare i say, bible, are what has thought us to not accept our natural forum on display. all women have breasts, all men have their junk. If people cant handle the human forum then we are lost as a species. Ii could care less if a male want's to ware a dress and sit to pee. or visaversa, if we educate our kids to be mindful of themselves then there shouldn't be a problem. some perv wants to snap pics of girls in a bathroom let the mob handle it. or law. but making laws to further our illusion of safety is counterproductive. we Americans seem to be the country with all the problems., France could care less if a female walks into a male restroom. no one cares. i was taking a leak and a lady walked in with her friend just to wash their hands. no one beside be thought anything of it. it wasn't an issue. teach your kids at a young age what the human body is made of and it's not a problem. Now don't get me wrong. i don't think *** and lesbian is natural, we are the only species on earth that has had this happen. there is something twisted in the DNA. but i'm not going to tell them they can't be who they were born to be. it's their personal choice. i'm about as conservative and they come, but i believe a woman has the right to choose what her body goes though. i don't think the government has and right or say so over a woman uterus. My kids will be respectful, if a female walks into a restroom they happen to be in and needs to pee, they will not strare and will giver her the privacy she deserves. They will expect the same from the other side as well.1 point

This is one more step in the wrong direction for America because how you going to explain to your kids about what they see? Anyhow it's one more example of how one generation, without Christ in their heart is backing another for the sake of rebellion. It was foretold in scripture.1 point

All great replies! I think it's safe to say most of us have a live and let live policy. But what's going on in our country today is so wrong on so many levels. It's very simple, the more laws and regulations are passed, the more our liberties and freedoms are taken away.1 point

What I've got a problem is this group pushing their beliefs on the rest of us. It might not be our place to judge but every one always speaks about the "Good Lord" above but you have to remember there is always the dark side of thing like the Devil below. So where do you draw the line saying "I believe in the Good Lord above and these actions by this group are unacceptable." Then at the same time being quiet and not speaking up is like saying you accept their way of life. How does one go about handling these moral issues? Tough I'll admit but I still hold true to the Bible. Leviticus 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." Leviticus 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them." Romans 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."1 point
