  1. No. Yankneck696 (Ed Grafton) is having problems with the face plates and hole line up. Then on top of that Ed's computer got hit but the a Virus that wipe out not only his but his wifes computer. So I talked him last night and as soon as the face plates show up he's shipping out.
  2. Out here locally I tend not to use seat belts because of the river. I've seen way too many die in the river because usually the impact with the water breaks at least one window and the in rushing of water and typically sand and dirt floating up off the floor board tends to jam the seat belt release. For what ever reason the ones that don't wear a seat belt that do go in the river live and the ones using a seat belt typically drown. Now for the excessive speed thing out here its typically the one that are doing speed limit and faster typically cause the accidents. Now as for seat belts out here in this case more survive head on impacts than without. So its a mixed bag to wear or not to wear.
  3. Well gang... Got woke up to a fire call in Whitebird Idaho. Man what a way to get woke up. Well jumped in my clothes hauled out the door. By the time I got the gate open I heard my crew member responding in Engine 11. Dang I thought I got to get moving. So I beat feet for the fire station in hopes to catch him. Locked up tight. So on towards Riggins, ID. I'm think I got to get to Kelly's place pick him up and hit Station 4. So outside of Riggins, ID I call him on the cell phone alerting him to meet me on the street. Well I meet him and we toss on a turn outs and listen to the radio more. Fire Chief is picking up a water tender at Station 3 and I just happen to see my crew member from Station one make it to town. Wave him down and hauled with him to Whitebird, ID. I left Kelly to ride with the Fire Chief. The reason Engine 11 was behind me is because he never called from the station house he called from at home.So now we get there and it a Shop / Studio Apartment. It leveled to the ground already and still burning. Whitebird fire was trying to fight the fire but under manned. I was first on scene for Salmon River Rural FD. Water was running out and no water point was made. I did what I had to do for water so since Whitebird was only about 3-4 miles away I ran water tender back in forth to the city hydrant for filling. Needless to say it was a very long 12 hours from 3am to nearly 3pm I now got home and settled down, eating, I'm tired, and going to get a nap at least.
  4. No. I think it the other way around I think Dorkweed will be asking for my extra wood I've got over 14 cords. Furnace? Thermostat? What the heck are those? I don't have either device in either building. Just a wood stove in both the main house and the guest house. So I have the task of firing up both stoves and heating both houses.
  5. Failed diodes. I've seen them fail out of the box. Most re-builders or manufactures tend to cut corners and use cheaper China/Japan diodes instead of quality American so the AC voltage is higher.
  6. Check over at DAP (Diesel Auto Power) site... http://www.dieselautopower.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=high+idle
  7. You don't need a chimney brush you just need to light the other fire. Then call the Salmon River Rural Fire Dept. (True thing I get plenty of chimney fire calls)Oh I didn't know your party line was nailed to that tree? (Real thing back in the day they used old 1 wire party lines for the USFS look out towers)Oh don't worry about the chimney running horizontally along the ceiling. (The original builder of my house did this with the shop stove!)Can I barrow your chainsaw? (Answer is "Hell No!" with extra ice.)Can I barrow your truck? (Same as above)
  8. Look out below the temperature are going to drop to single digits for my place. That means batten down the hatches and move to the living room for sleeping area. It just too cold at those temperatures to heat the entire house so we shut down the bedrooms and the extra rooms down stairs and just heat the living room & kitchen. Take notice its going to break minimum temp records for those days. Oh man its going to be minus temps in New Meadows, ID proper... Ekkk...
  9. Just use a little gasoline to start the fire... (BOOM!)My wood is a bit rotten...Firewood is too expensive...Chainsaw(s) are too expensive to fix...Too far to drive to get firewood...My truck is broke down can I barrow yours?Too hard to split firewood...
  10. Way more than typical salt and pepper here. This is just my common collection of spices I've got even more in the basement.
  11. Delay wipers on?Lose electrical connection?Wiper motor wore out?
  12. Between pull the truck out of the shop, then getting to the gate and opening the gate, then closing the gate and locking it, then get to the highway waiting for traffic its had more than enough time to idle and warm up. Starting temps are typically above 32*F.
  13. Unknown... :shrug:But I don't see too much issues with it. I did hear that AH64ID said something about the fan clutch?
  14. I think MoparMom would you first. ...Me personally would just get her a nice jacket that is done in safety yellow.
  15. I'm using a mechanical gauge but just plumbed directly to the gauge with air brake line. Exactly what all the big over the truck use for plumbing for air, oil pressure and other gauges. Soft copper tubing is known for flex failures so that why I typically warn against copper tubing usage. Most people get carried away and use steel braided lines which is total over kill and typically very difficult to route in the dash. Where air brake line is oil and fuel ready and with a needle valve if the line should leak it will not spray but merely drip and a fast pace. If a line was to fail and start to leak trust me you'll smell it for sure. At that point just shut the needle valve and continue till your travels till you home where you can fix it. My past history with old school nylon tubing it will work but the nylon gets brittle under the hood and typically gets broke while working on the engine. I normally broke mine are at the compression fitting. After getting tried of that I found air brake line and never had a single problem after that.
  16. Strange but true... But mostly lean meat and veggies and drop as much salt (sodium) out of your diet. I cut back soda pop to occasionally drink mostly water and fruit juice. I normally don't eat breakfast till about 10-11am some days skipped completely on the breakfast and eat a light lunch. Then dinner back to the meat and veggies. My highest weight was 235-240 pounds. Now as of today 205 pounds hoping to break under 200 soon.Sure make it nice when you doing search and rescue or fire dept work and not packing all that body mass.
  17. Glad they found it. At least now it will at least heal up. Wow.Well tell her we are all cheering her on and hopes gets well soon. I know being down and out is hard on anyone with a active life.
  18. That the weird thing in ranching or farm country trucks tend to hold there value for a long time. But now in the cities the value seems to fall for some weird reason. Texas being one of the lowest priced spots.
  19. Last time on the scale I weighed out at 205 lbs. I've lost my spare tire and my pants are falling off me now. I wear suspenders just to keep my britches from falling down with a fire radio, multi-tool, and a 9mm pistol on my hip.I'm not doing T-day here. Just going to be another day for me. Our neighbor down the road just stopped in with dinner rolls and blueberry pie. (Yummy!)So far my morning I loaded my trailer full of old stuff from the attic and haul it to the dump. I got to admit it was nice to drive the diesel for the first time in nearly a month now. Fuel light is on and nearly out of fuel.
  20. Yes. There is a diaphragm right on top mark its position it came out. Then pull straight up. It might hang up on the fuel pin push it down and then pull back up. Then you get it out and be able to clean and lube the pin again. Check the wear of the pin as well. Turning the pin position will either steepen the fuel ramping or make it milder. Here is a modified pin... Here is stock to wild. Under the cover.. https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS3lwyi8v6uRkvmU0uJ2WtOk8yr35H_Gy47qoe2F7CQ-YUaYCVZiQ
  21. Cetane thing has always been viewed like octane higher the better. Thats backwards. Right out of the ASTM testing labs documents for Cetane. The ASTM Standard Specification for Diesel Fuel Oils (D-975) states, "The cetane number requirements depend on engine design, size, nature of speed and load variations, and on starting and atmospheric conditions. Increase in cetane number over values actually required does not materially improve engine performance. Accordingly, the cetane number specified should be as low as possible to insure maximum fuel availability."
  22. Man... I need to pull mine out and have it shipped back for flash programming...
