HE351 Turbo
No. i was just curious on how it spooled, I've been pretty happy with my ATS Aurora 3000, just after i installed the SPEARCO Intercooler my boost fell off a good bit.. soften the punch especially in the Low-mid range area of power curve. hadn't really had the ATS on very long before i changed ACC. Before i installed the spearco ACC i could maybe hit 40psi boost max, now 30-31psi is it on 3x5 or 4x5,Ive checked clamps, hoses maybe i just need little bigger injectors

HE351 Turbo
what about EGT Temps, were you able to control while towing???

HE351 Turbo
Im seeing a lot of guys switching to these, a few on here.. Do they really work & perform that well on the 2nd GEN trucks compared to S300 and others out there ????

Drop in injectors
- Drop in injectors
Mke, just trying to get your goat..thought maybe all that torque caused a stress crack those gauge's look sweet- Drop in injectors
thought i saw one of the vendors on here now offering the gauges in a kit with A piller mount complete but can't remember which one- Drop in injectors
Mike When you gonna fix that crack in your windshield ... maybe you should turn it down to 4x4.... OH yeah, those are some nice gauges,,,sexy'r than socks on a rooster...- Drop in injectors
P/S Yep.... me to......NOW..... try that crap with stock autotrans and HY35 Not much control of the CUMINS power curve with 47RE AUTO...IT has a mind of its own- Drop in injectors
deej, I'm sorry if your still confused with all the info threw at you at once, which is great information, your are in good company for Learning what you can and can't do with your truck and still expect it to last. you will find that these Guys here "ACTUALLY USE" there trucks so what ever they tell you is Real world information learned from personal experience. The single best investment for you at this point is GAUGES . I cannot emphasize enough the need for GAUGES. they tell you what your truck is doing and why it's doing it. Even without power upgrades, gauges are a must to be able to troubleshoot a diesel engine of any make. If you haven't installed gauges, that needs to be first. Now, as it has already been said, if your doing any Towing or hauling you really need to forget about any power upgrades such as injectors or boxes/programmers unless your just cruising around town and wanna blow some smoke then you can get away with some big nozzles and programmers. if you look at my signature you'll see i had bout the same original setup as you, 24Valve VP, Auto, 354 gears. I didn't adhere to the good advise given to me here. instead i added a edge juice w/attitude then injectors. then i installed aEGT probe in the manifold so my EGT gauge would work on the edge juice readout (edge juice has gauges built in).. thats when i knew i had messed up, EGT Temps were as high as 13-1400 without the wiretap on the pump. then i started noticing TC issues like slipping when rolling out into the hammer lane to pass, got to where i unhooked the edge just to try and buy some time,..BUT after about 10,000miles with very little heavy lifting, it bit the dust.. So.. you could follow my *** backwards protocol, or start with GAUGES and trans, upgrades. These guys here can tell you how to MOD your transmission to be worry free and reliable without spending a small fortune ... just ask around or search the articles hope this helps rburks- Drop in injectors
IDK, I'm interested to see what others have to say about it, "I think its a good discussion ,- Drop in injectors
YEP,,Mike your fine, not what i was say'N... Some Guys always putting a lot of stock in psi, 40-50 psi boost. I mean theres only so much c.f.m. gonna go thru the stock ACC, intake and cylinder head anyway,,right SOO i mean at that point the pressure just backs up and naturally boost psi will increase but at some point your C.F.M. actually stops increasing or maybe even decreases... and decreasing power, (1)by either back pressure on compressor wheel or,, (2) the heat caused by increased restriction is making the air charge less dense.- Drop in injectors
Micheal, don't mean to hijack a thread but Your post above reminds me of something that I've been meaning to start a discussion about. Since pressure at some point becomes restriction and restriction becomes heat, the best set-up always IMHO is the one that finds that sweet spot. where do you think that spot is on a stock HX35 and stock intake an ACC....- Drop in injectors
if you still have the HY35 you really are at the line cause anything you add to increase power is going to make the EGT's skyrocket. . if you have gauges maybe Set of RV275 oem injectors is it. That would give you a little bump in power but honestly pulling 7k trailer your probably gonna notice very little power gain for the money and effort probably not worth it. These 47RE-RH STOCK TRANNYS are "Maxed out when they came off the lot new 12 or so years ago. throwing power upgrades at one 12yr. old is asking for trouble, I know this from my experience . TC was made for gas engines ,...just changing to stock HX turbo can have you slipping TC in OD when rollin out into the hammer lane loaded... IF your not ready to drop some serious denier'O, ID just turn up the CD player and enjoy the ride- Drop in injectors
I'm guessing you still have the HY35 Turbo w/9cm exhaust back end- vp44 and hy35 questions
Im referring to your question about the VP Pump It most likely will be ok, But now any issues that pop up, this will always be hanging out there and will be the first place you look for the cause/.....just say'n rburks ***I also suggest to make a note of this and remember to include with any future post regarding issues with motor, might even want to print it on a piece of tape and put somewhere under hood or in door seal- Rear Wheel Bearings
sorry,,tried to load a picture, didn't work- Rear Wheel Bearings
i installed a MAG-HYTEC DIFF COVER,, that eliminated that issue, no gasket, Magnet drain plug, and has a dipstick file:///Users/richardburks/Desktop/Dana44-2.jpg- Rear Wheel Bearings
i had this happen to me when i let a shop put my new diff in...if you'll notice the fill plug on the inspection cover is level or just below the axle tubes. you have to get up to highway speed for a good whole before the oil makes its way into the wheel bearings...- new aluminum prop shaft.
did you have to change yokes on pinion and trans. ??/ rburks- Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
Just by having a page titled 3rd GEN smarty TOUCH INSTALL would enable Micheal to submit that page to search engines across the web- Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
Mike I see what your say'n, more participation with the 3rd and 4th Gens is needed. let me run this by yah, what if you created another domain to redirect to this site. IDK, does the search engines penalize for redirecting from one domain and or site to another??? i agree some about the content here and definetly once there in here they ant going nowhere, but I'm thinking more so about first time newbie's who have just bought there first diesel and are spending Daddy's money. Its the name recognition with these people that i think the site could be loosing when there searching the www..net for the first time for cummins diesel info. Your computer knowledge is far more advanced than most of us can even understand including myself, sure not trying to take anything from that in anyway. Im just trying to help out and do whatever i can to see the site stays alive and does more than survive but succeed's . This is the #1 site for dodge cummins, and it deserves the recognition .- Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
To be Honest, i originally had wrote this to Mike to get his take on it before exposing it public.. but i cannot send him messages. It blocks me every time. rburks- Mike will you please be more specific as to exactly what you want.
You guys have done outstanding work, but i cannot clearly see how the site moves forward to self sustainability without sufficient vendor support - Drop in injectors
