HERE IS THE CUMMINS PART# FOR THE CRANK SEAL KIT: cummins crank seal kit.....#3802820...price around 105.00 from Cummins Richie --- Update to the previous post... Whow......When i done mine about 5-months ago I payed well 118.00 dollars for the very same kit from SCHEID Diesel....found the very same kit this morning for.. 89.00 ...check out the links below http://www.puredieselpower.com/catalog/9498-cummins-valve-front-crank-seal-with-speedy-sleeve-p-2847.html http://www.dieselstorm.com/9498-cummins-12-valve-front-crank-seal-with-speedy-sleeve-p-230.html Richie- HY35 to HX35 swap
So your saying that the Elbo from your HY35 is the same size as the as the Exhaust stub flange on the New Reman HX35 you just bought????? Richie- HY35 to HX35 swap
i mean what size diameter is the exhaust output/flange???- HY35 to HX35 swap
John..i am curious to what is the circumfrence of the HX35 you just bought???? Richie- HY35 to HX35 swap
12cm=4.72in coupled to 4" SS Downpipe that came with the turbo and the V-clamp as a kit from ATS...also installed 4" SS Silverline exhaust same time.. Richie --- Update to the previous post... Lost me again fella .......... its basically the same as what I just bought - but already clocked Yeah..i must have posted it before i saw your thread where you had bought that one...just browsing around ebay and came across that one thought id pass it on to you..i mean Dmmm 400.00+for a New Holset HX35W Turbo..wished i could have found something like this when i was looking for one...I mean i am almost tempted to call on it myself and i dont need one ..kinD of curious if it really is new or REMAN....Dont see any reason though why the 1-you bought wont work...I had to "clock" my new one when i installed it...no worries Did you see my question above ? What do you mean regarding the elbow ? Aren't the elbows basically the same also between HY35 and H35 (and thats why they are interchangeable) ?? It has been my understanding that the HX35 came with the short stub flange with the groove around it that coupled straight to the downpipe and sealed w/V-clamp and the HY35 {which is what i Had} came with the Elbo that bolted to the Downpipe.....I was looking at doing the same thing as you..but there was nothing available out there either a good cheap core for me to have rebuilt or any that was rebuilt....either way when i crunched the numbers it made more sence for me to pay a few hundred more and get a new one with a 3yr. 150,000mile warranty extended to 5yr. 500,000mile warrnty...especially when you figured in the price of the downpipe.. after looking at my old one and the photos that Mopar posted I am pretty sure that they can be swapped out... guess i am to blame for your confusion and for that i apologize..but i will try to clarify this so maybe the next guy wont have these same issues How am I not dealing with them ?? ..Huh.. HX should drop 100-200 Yes i would think so... Water Injection should drop another 100-200 cant help you there... Whats the alternative - buy a Super B (or bigger) for $1200 ??- Question about BHAF?
O.K...Here is what im talking about..It has been my understanding that all HX35's are just exactly like in ISX's Photo..see the stub sticking out with the groove ...thats wher your downpipe butts up against and sealed with the V-Clamp... Richie --- Update to the previous post... edcasey..is it possiable that the 2-in the photos have after the exhaust flanges have been swapped???? Richie- Question about BHAF?
So I am right... THE "HX 35 TURBOS DONT HAVE THE ELBO BOLTED ON THE REAR OF EXHAUST HOUSING" the downpipe connects directly to thr turbine housing with a V-Clamp...been some confusion over on the thread JOHNFAK has in the Powertrain related side DID THE EARLIER AUTO TRANS WITH HX35 HAVE THE ELBO LIKE THE HY35?????- 2nd Gen Crank seal & timing gear cover gasket install

HA....yeah i done this about 3-months ago...just now getting around to posting the pictures and write-up..been busy...and having trouble uploading them to the site.. Richie:thumbup2:- HY35 to HX35 swap
John..after lookin at Mopars thread, it looks like Its possiable you can swap you elbo from the HY35 to the HX35 {didn't no the HX had same bolt patteren}..but thats going to be spliting hairs i think IMHO.. I think that what you gain in exhaust wheel & housing size of the HX35 your giving most of it back by reusing the elbo from the HY35 IMHO Richie- Looking for turbo idea's
so far i love it --- Update to the previous post...- Crank seal & timing gear cover gasket install

I apologize Guys.. the photos are not any order like from start to finish...i tried to do this 3-times and thought i had them arranged that way but after i posted the link and clicked on it i see they are in random order:banghead: Richie- HY35 to HX35 swap
I think there was another thread a while back on here regarding this same issue that i responded to. Basicly any turbo you go with other than another HY35 will require you to replace the downpipe or some serious modification to yours.. LOOK AT THE FIRST PHOTO OF THE HX35..LOOK AT THE REAR AND SEE THE GROOVED FLANGE ..THE DOWNPIPE IS THE SAME AS THIS AND IT BUTS UP AGAINS...THERE IS A "v" BAND CLAMP THAT GOES AROUND BOTH AND PULLS THE 2-TOGETHER TO FORM A SEAL Richie:thumbup2:- Blue Smoke During Cold Starts
The blue smoke means unburned fuel. A light transparent Haze is normal especially 20F, not plugged up and Hot-Rod Pump..If this is a Cloud that lastest for..O..say 3-5min... I would have to say you have an injector dripping overnight or when the truck is parked for 10hrs.+..the fuel pressure in tha injector &line leaks off due to a week spring or particialy stuck open check valve in the nozzle itself...fuel gathers on top of the piston..when you start the engine the next time it smokes till it burns off the excess fuel on top of the piston.."IF THIS IS THE CASE..BE WARNED THAT OVER A PERIOD OF TIME THIS PROBLEM WILL RESULT IN WHATS CALLED CYLINDER WASH DOWN & WILL RESULT TO EXCESSIVE WEAR OR SCAR'S ON CYL. WALLS, WEAR OR BROK RINGS, PISTONS ETC... Richie- Oil Change
Dont mean to hijack a thread....but not that long ago i remember reading a thread on here or CF from a guy that had been running Syn. Oil (Amsoil) sence New and had replaced his Cam with a Aftermarket cam just for performance reasons and was commenting on how much wear was on that OE cam.. I have searched back thru the old threads and have not came across it...Maybe someone will chime in that seen it also.. Richie- Injector Install
Michael..the last time i had my lines off i removed the lifting eye from the back of the head.....Man..did that make it ever easier to get on #5 fuel lines Richie:thumbup2:- New Batteries
What is "GROUP 65" ...i just bought 1-new Exide 995 CCA and getting ready to buy 1-more. nned to make sure i get the right one's Richie- exhaust manifold
I put an ATS "Pulseflow" manifold mine a few months ago when i replaced the turbo. ATS gave me a discounted price on the package which included Aurora 3000 Turbo, Pulseflow Manifold & installation kit w/gaskets... ATS manifolds carry a 5yr./500,000mile replacment warranty & 3yr/150,000mile on There Turbos I still have my old manifold which is perfect condition if you are interested PM me Richie- Update
Poor JL...Man i feel your pain...your luck is like mine it seems...if it were raining soup i would be the only one holding a "fork":( Richie- Looking for turbo idea's
HY35 is the only turbo that has a flange mount elbo that connects to the downpipe thru the fared compression fit...any turbo you upgrade to will require you to either replace the downpipe or modify yours.. Richie:thumbup2: --- Update to the previous post... Upgrading the exhaust to 4 or 5"inch wont help EGT's much if any...the HY35 has a 9cm exhaust housing and that elbo on the rear that connects to your downpipe is 3" or less ...However with a Pyrometer you should be able to run it fine as a DD if you are not Towing heavy, ..just watch thar Pyro.. cause you cant stay in the throttle very long at all....also a boost elbo and boost fooler will help keep it spooled up longer but theHY35 still runs out at 2000RPM even w boost fooler I JUST TOOK ONE OF AND REPLACED WITH AN ATS AUROA 3000 & Pulseflow Manifold Hope this helps! Richie:thumbup2:- Boost Elbow
So i am curious...Exactly what part is not true:shrug: the point i was trying to make is that adding a boost elbo is not going to "on normal circumstances" increase power...in fact its just the oppsite."if you have a good turbo and wastgate" you will loose power any time you get on it pedal hard or in a pull - Crank seal & timing gear cover gasket install
