  1. Exxon Mobil I don't see any numbers you provided
  2. Look at mine too looks like amsoil is using calcium and this Altorfer oil is using magnisium
  3. Ok I might be missing something here but where does it describe CJ4 oil on this page http://www.mobil.com/Australia-English/Lubes/PDS/AUXXENCVLMOMobil_Delvac_MX_15W-40.aspx all I see is Mobil Delvac MX 15W-40 meets or exceeds the requirements of the following industry and builder specifications: API CI-4/CH-4/SL/SJ
  4. So I take it that you use Amsoil now? Or something really close to it.
  5. See thing is these are all cj4 oils and I was told older ci4 oils had better additives for lubricity and whatever else, so that's why I kind of started this thread as some one mentioned that CAT still sells good ci4 oil and price is $12 a gallon vs $27 a gallon for Amsoil, I'm willing to get Valvoline Blue for $15 a gallon if it's better than this Cat oil I've been trying to figure out. I don't care about saving 2-3 bucks a gallon as long as I don't ruin my engine.
  6. That's BHAF, my waste gate been rusted shut for years I drive by my boost guage
  7. In your opinion is valvoline blue, rotella or Mobil a cheap Dino? Or is it just this oil we're discussing.
  8. I wanted to get ci4 and they said that it was ci4, and also said don't mind the label that has cj4 highlighted out it was a mistake, and that it is basically Mobil MX oil slightly tweaked to their spec. But like AH64ID said it also says that it's cj4 oil.
  9. That's why I switched to truck tires too, I usually tow at least couple of hours a way and 65-70 is the speed I tow most of time. Our boat still has ST tires and I don't go over 65 even down hill.
  10. Time for BHAF and some cleaning.
  11. I'm just a bit confused, I bought these thinking they were one of the best according to reviews. And sure never seen tires do that after a year, maybe 10. But maybe it's new standard in tire industry (use them or lose them) Toyo's new slogan.
  12. So what spec are you looking at when determine what it is, I just want to know this for future.
  13. So long story short wold you guys use it in your truck?
  14. It may look like a highlighter but in fact it's identical on all labels, to me it looks like they screwed up printing them and before striking it on buckets ran them through printer again with cj4 crossed off.
  15. If that's the case then that's what I've been looking for to run in my truck, cheap and has good zink, phosphate and TBN, the only thing is TAN but maybe it does go down after a while, I'll make sure to let you guys know.
  16. Not sure if I mentioned this but they run it in everything except newer generators and equipment that has DPF.
  17. Called Tread Depot today and they said that it's normal for these and michelins to crack early, ( wtf?) Than had me email them pictures of cracks but said more likely Toyo won't cover it as a crack has to be at least 3mm wide ( wtf again? ) for them to do something about it. Makes me want to buy a horse with all these great deals I've been getting.
  18. I asked them if they could do ash and the answer was no, but that's when they showed me specs on Mobil with ash of 1.3 and said it was same oil but slightly modified to CAT spec. As a lab they are strictly set up for wear metals and can't do ash for some reason. At least that's what they told me. I think they were tired of me and were willing to tell me what I wanted to hear just to get rid of me and $100 spent on oil samples didn't matter, but maybe not. I just think people they deal with spend hundreds of thousands of dollars there and could care less about oil as long as someone changes it for them. I guess I'm going to use it and maybe sample again after 1000k or so and see where everything is, if TAN gets higher and not lower then we'll know there is something wrong with their oil and I'll be asking for my money back on oil and samples done. Might even charge them for my time for lying if that's the case. I know good luck right.
  19. So I retested same oil total of 3 times and the results all kinda close to each other, what do you think. Does it look like ci4 or cj4 oil to you according to these tests, I know I should use different lab but already too much money spent here. How do I tell if oil is of good quality, zink seems higher than most, tbn is over 12, v100 is at 15, the only number I see that's off is TAN. But I did some more research on oil analises and most people don't even bother with tan and only get tbn done. So what are the chances all oils are like that.
  20. I don't have a problem with Japan stuff if anything them guys usually have quality product but china not so sure there. Had few trailer tires one blew in many pieces on highway and the other almost came apart. So no more trailer tires for me I just run truck tires that are 10 ply, so far no problems other then kumho tires not sure where they made but junk in my opinion.
  21. I went to cummins and they sent me to CAT dealer and said that's who does all of their analyses.
  22. So these 3 tests are same oil out of same bucket, Mobil MX 15w40 oil with suposedly extra ingidients. what is good and what is bad, asuming TAN wasn't done in this test as a lot of people don't bother with TAN and just do TBN.
  23. Mine say made in USA at2 according to date code January 2014,
  24. Ok found out that these are third week of 2014 so not that old, but defiantly looks like a crack and not a cut.
