Both Rear Wheel Very Hot
Maybe proportion valve If It has one since both wheels get hot, happened on mine before but it was calipers, rebuild both for 20 some bucks no more problems. Weird thing was it would drag but by the time I park and try to roll the truck they would let go but for 20 bucks and some brake fluid in did it anyway.

Could really use some help - Engine knock
My advice, if you got money to waste put studs in now, that way later you don't have to worry about it if you upgrade anything else. If builder is good your motor should last a long time, how do you know what will happen down the road. And if you sell it people look for them upgrades.

AAM rear axle identification
I never used gaskets on rear or front ends always used review gray or black, never had problems.

Transfercase
I don't think people think about it that much, but I'd say 10-15 degrees is ok, if you're in gear and not binded. But I'm just guessing, if you're not leaking fluid out of tail shaft and don't hear any clunking under load in 4x4 I'd think you'll be ok.

2 stroke info.
Why do they say to change every so many miles or every year, which ever comes first. Is it like groceries and can go bad. Or is it like plastic and metal and some other processed food that don't go bad like McDonald's. Never understood why you got to change filters once a year if you only put few thousand miles on it. I think like you said if pressure gauge is OK and filter is not rusted out why not leave it alone. Maybe at least two or three years. Guy I know had an oil leak and all he did was add oil for like 5-6 years and never changed filter, not sure how he got away with that one, maybe sludge isn't a problem with fresh oil and not enough other debris to plug it. But a fuel filter with a guage a different story.

Fass or air dog
I had ad150 and now have fass150 very similar design but size, fass is about 15-20% bigger so I know it will outflow ad any day if you need that much flow, biggest thing is how you get your fuel to it, I modified my fuel basket so it's all 1/2" in and out the only fitting that's factory clip in is from return of injectors and vp44. By the way I got a second generation so there is no confusion. I had customer service problem with ad so I'm using fass and I like it. If you have pressure spikes right of the bat on a new pump ad or fass, have them send you new ball and spring on return line to tank. And modifi spring a bit so the ball doesn't get stuck in it by coiling end of spring tighter in the middle.

No more Royal purple in my NV5600
I thought that stealership oil for nv5600 was fully synthetic, I've been running amsoil sincromesh in my nv56 for few years and about 10k now seems fine, I run 7qt. I did ran panzoil for about 500 ml to flush the old stuff out and between it and amsoil I didn't notice a difference.

Could really use some help - Engine knock
Could it be something with that temp sensor messing with timing

How much would all of this have cost?
I know for sure it's cheaper to buy tools and do the job, and in the end you keep tools, in most cases. I'm proud to say that I only took my vehicle once to service for an oil change and got a print out for 500 some bucks, after that I started to buy tools and do it all myself.

Ball joints
So how much play is too much, when having front axle on jack stands and putting pry bar under tire moving up and down? Mine move between 1/32 and 16th on both sides. And do you do unjoints and seals at same time or just replace wats bad. What's the life expectancy on axle seals and u joints?

All i want for Christmas..
Nice you got snow for Christmas, we usually get some by now but this year only rain, I guess we had 8" few weeksago and it's all gone now. Yesterday it was 50s today 40s a bit weird, but I do live in Iowa, weather can be crazy here. It's pretty dull over here.

Corrosion on wheels and caps
Funny thing Is that I hardly drive it in winter and if I do I always wash it before parking it for a while. And these rims are of 2012 model not very old, maybe made in China.

Safely Jump Starting
I made quick connects front and back out of heaviest jumper cables I found, especially for the back, that way if I got to jump someone, first I hook their battery up and then plug it in to my truck, plug only plugs in one way. I also use high idle like Mike. This also allows me to plug my winch in on the trailer or jump someone one the road facing same direction.

Suspension upgrades.
Just my 2 cent. I've done quite a bit of off roading. And had few different set up's. Biggest thing for off road is articulation, stock truck can go through quite a bit but you will work the he'll out your suspension, frame, bodymounts, ect. Next thing is longer leafsprings and shackle flips and double shackle flips, that's what I have on my current truck. It works relatively well and cheap. One thing I noticed is leafsprings flex a lot more and if they are old they might break. I used 8" rough country kit and before shackle flipping I could never get them flat, it would bind and lift tire of the ground. After flip I have seen them fold backwards a little and come back to normal, so far no problems but it's a toy and I use it off road only. If heims joints were cheaper, I would switch to 4 link with coil springs, best flexibility and ride quality. I had it on a truck I sold and it was great, unfortunately it's not legal on street. Not sure how newer trucks coming out with almost a 4link suspension and being legal. I'm sure someone will explain that to me.Another thing that I noticed is if I get a lot of mud on the truck with shackle flip it sags more, so yeah you might need air bags if towing heavy.

Corrosion on wheels and caps
Not sure if anyone tried this but, I was rotating tires and found a lot of greenish looking corrosion inside wheel caps. So after scrubbing that crap off for a while and not having much progress, I tried using regular toilet bowl cleaner that says "removes rust, lime, calcium". Man that stuff took it right off and didn't do any damage to good surface. I only got after picture, everywhere you see plastic showing that's where that nasty green looking crap was. I wish I would of cut it sooner but outside still looks good. I'd imagine it would work good for getting corrosion of the rims too.

Great Songs
- Finally started working out again!
I just started to work out myself after 12 years, I was in really good shape when I was in my early 20s, benched 425, squatted over 600, never was a big fan of dead lifts but could rep 405 for 6-8 depended on the day. My biggest problem was hurting my back at work and things just went down hill from there, as soon as I quit lifting, because I couldn't even tie my shoes for few years, not only my back was hurting but everything else started to show signs of wear. Finally after a few painful years I found my other half and had couple of kids and that pretty much took all of the time till about half a year ago. Kids are growing up and it's easier to deal with life. So finally I decided to go back to the gym. After few mouths I'm feeling much better and getting some of my strength back, a bit frustrating but at least I'm there 3-4 times a week. My goal is to get to 315 6-8 times and that is probably where I'll stop, and just try to stay there. Life can be hard at times but that's what makes it fun. It's amassing how you don't know how many people have different problems till you get some, like they say live and learn, the more I know the less I know. You stop learning when you're dead. P.s. You don't know what you got till you lose it.- Tie rod rubbing front diff cover?
Mine is like that too. When my front end wears out I'll be putting in 09 and up like Tfaoro did.- new vp, new lift pump, new ecm, still got nothin
I would have to agree with Dripley, if it runs with an external control box then there is something going on with electronics in the truck. Or wiring. Could be a pin on some connector got puled out a bit, pull all plugs and look inside to make sure pins are all there.- Great Songs
This might be our world in the next 50 years unless we nuke our selfs sooner. Hope nether or.- Great Songs
I always thought this was a one of the good ones- So what do yall' like to do besides work on trucks?
Sounds like a bunch of real man are on this forum and I never dough it. Had to put this in here.- Teardown and Rebuild
Knock was an excuse to rebuild- So what do yall' like to do besides work on trucks?
O man, I guess living is hard enough these days. With little kids sometimes it's hard to plan on anything just kind of day at the time. Shooting is always fun if you can afford the ammo. Love fishing up in Canada and places alike, little off-road (trail/mud) not doing as much as I would like to and limited on locations to do it at. Backyard fire and food is always fun. There is always something to fix on the old Dodge mainly, Cummins seems to be fine. Split and burn wood by choice. Trying to enjoy what I got cause you never know. - Finally started working out again!
