Mystery oil leak after vp change
Could you please explain it better for me, I thought vacuum pump was an external unit and has nothing to do with the engine only for accessories. Funny thing is I just discovered a vacuum leak on my truck, next to firewall by the check valve had old soft rubber hose. It rubbed through where it touches the dipstick.

Proper Nv5600 fluid
Amsoil mtf, but thinking maybe going back to pennzoil. Remember to overfill at least one qt, I prefer 7qts total without use of coolers and filters on pto covers. If ether or used will need to add more fluid to compensate.

Longer cranking...
Can someone educate me, I thought orings were to keep oil out. And fuel is sealed off with copper to metal and metal to metal. But then again I forget a lot. Yes thank you, I think I knew that at one time. Seems it's a lot easier to ask then research, lol. Soon if not already most people will be dependant on someone else telling them how it is.

Rebuilding Parking Brake
Usually when I get my parking brakes installed and adjusted properly I drive at slow speed and apply parking brake few times on and off just to get them seated in the place than after few times doing that I check the adjustment.

NV 5600 rear output seal and bushing R&R
Top center? How many quarts do you have in there total? Do you have coolers or filter on it? Reason I'm asking is I have a cooler on one side and filter on the other and have 7.5 to 8 quarts in mine and I'm to the top side hole of pto cover.

UDC tuning for vp trucks!!??
I don't think you'll get much cooling as the vp needs to turn also to get more flow returned, from what I heard if it's off then it's very little flow through the vp. It may still help though.

Edge comp, mild injectors, fuel mileage
Where in Iowa are they Do you ever use level 1 for max mileage and why
-
Edge comp, mild injectors, fuel mileage
I had some 8 hole 75 hp and they were better In mpg then the 60hp I got now, also they were a bit cleaner but not much. Not sure of manufacture but they were bosch bodies with aftermarket noziles. And holes were tiny but had 8 now I got 7 hole from DAP. So far no complaints except had some misunderstanding on their part but they kind of made it right. I'm over it now.

Edge comp, mild injectors, fuel mileage
I got a qwadzilla and it has level one which is all timing and considered to be for best mpg, that's why I don't understand why you'd get better mpg by fooling iat to think it's hot out 143f which retards timing. But my guess is if you drive 55mph with that 143f fooler on and use your edge on higher level you might see better mpg. But if you go much faster then 55 then you might as well turn fueling off and go for all timing. If I drive 55 60 I get around 20 21 mpg and it don't seem to matter what level I'm on. But if I go 65 70 and use any power levels my mpg goes down because of wind and constant boost. So if I go faster I use level 1 for timing if empty, and if towing I use whatever level feels good for power and just wach egts. Also with bigger injectors your timing is more advanced but not by much, injector would dump fuel In faster when open. But I'll let someone else explain that part.

No clutch pedal, can't get NV4500 into gear
Even if you have no leaks that doesn't mean that master slave or both are junk. Have someone to push on pedal and see if slave moves the fork, or use something to keep pedal down.

Lost another alternator...
Try doing same test and rev engine up, AC noise on mine goes up doing it that way. Which I guess is normal.

Transmission Cooler
Yeap

Transmission Cooler
No problem man, I can't seem to remember as much as I want ether. Yeap, cheap and I hope affective, better than some flimsy crap they put on some vehicles.

Transmission Cooler
What do you mean by beans? If you're asking what's up with the filter then this is what I just did.

Teardown and Rebuild
No we don't have to worry about it as much but there are reports that it did happen I'm not going to risk it over some antifreeze
-
Teardown and Rebuild
Here is what inside of your block could look like if wrong antifreeze is used or not changed on time. This one is out of huge cat engine. But you get the idea.

Transmission Cooler
It will fit if you have a 4" down pipe, but it will be really close and not worth in my opinion. It would soak more heat from exhaust then cool, plus you'll have to almost take downpipe off to put it on. I put a filter on that side, maybe you can mill it off or cut it in half and use sorter bolts. Put one half on tranny and the other on tcase. I have a 4" down pipe. Not sure if I got sensor in right spot, you can flip it and have it facing forward too.

Flletguard from cummins supposed to be really good. I'll try it next.

Teardown and Rebuild
No, and I wasn't talking about diesel at that time ether, just had some Chevy stuff in for surfacing and that's when he said all dexcoll they deal with they flush out and put regular long life Preston in. In my truck I'm running Zerex go5 right now, it's also environment friendly and suposedly you can dump it on the ground. I did some research and very few people said there are few engines that had some damage from using wrong coolant and thing is you won't know till it's coming in your cilynders. It's cheap enough I'm not risking it. The whole reason GM uses it is for longer waranty.

Teardown and Rebuild
I was told by a rebuilder not to use dexcool as it causes severe electrolysis and damaging to gaskets and some other stuff.

oil/fuel out of #1
I had an oil leak 4 years ago about same place, I pulled my front head studs out, sprayed some good carb clean in the hole and cleaned oil out then squized some rtv in the hole and bunch on the stud and put it back in, let it seat over night so far no leaks. I belive there is an oil passage close to front stud.

NV 5600 rear output seal and bushing R&R
I changed mine output seal because of a leak, and now it still drips very little not enough to worry about yet. But I did buy a bushing also and at last minute decided not to change it and just try the seal firs, we'll I should of did busing too. So if I was you I'd probably change the bushing also. I don't think they are hard once you figure it out. I heard that you can do it without taking tails shaft housing off but personally I would take it off and use a press. Make sure no burs are present anywhere, when installing bushing in housing and also inside the bushing.

Front end camber?
I did my own alignment with tape measure and now my truck runs straight down the road and tires don't wear funny. All I did is got steering wheel straightened out and about an 1/8" of tow in.

Syncromesh fluid
Here is part of the reason I didn't fill it past top side bolt, filter intake is right there. So I figured when going down the hwy it should work
