  1. When my injectors went bad and stayed open, raw fuel came out the exhaust. Can you smell raw fuel from the tail pipe.It should be around 75.$$ to get the injectors tested.
  2. This may help others, what did he tell you to do?
  3. Was the 18v with the engine off or running. What made you check it?
  4. Call chip, maybe he sold you a bad pump. Are you sure the keyway didnt round off a edge. That will make it start and run wierd. Did you unplug and replug the injection pump plug? Are you sure you checked every fuel line?
  5. How long has it been acting this way?
  6. Sorry to say but the usa is a leaker friendly place. I work my calist hands so much it hurts to make a fist. I am well aware of the free phones i have seen one in person. I know of some who milk the system. As long as this government is willing to give handouts there will be droves of people with there hand out. All this funk use to bug me. I have been working from the age of 12. I lied about my age to get a paper route. I like to work for what i have. It is not much, but i enjoy all i have. Not to sound all religious on you guys......but i turned my feelings over to Jesus. My Lord blesses me according to his plan for my life. Friends, i use to hate these people and all that did was make ME sick. It didnt change any one of them leakers. I guess to sum this up, if it bugs you do something about it. Call or write your congressman, get a petition started. respectfully yours, Dually
  7. Thats the view i see when i go to the floor on the drivers side and look behind the hvac. I had to remove it when i took it out.
  8. I may do the same. I want to see if i can get more out of it.
  9. I just wanted to tell everyone that i set mine at 7/17 and it really does drive different. Off the line is quicker. I use to have 10/20
  10. First off you should get a spare factory brass elbo if you are going to try this. If you have a hx turbo you can remove the little brass elbo in the turbo and drill it out a little at a time and get more boost. Be careful around 40 you can put a hurt on the head gasket. 30 should be ok.
  11. You at 21 your rate will be cheap. Cheaper if you dont smoke. Sometimes going to the er can save you cash because the max rate is set, at least mine is. What you need to find is your yearly deductible. Some people that need surgery get them the first of the year because then your yearly deductible is met. So if you need more work done it cost less. Mine was just changed from 1k to 5k . You dont want that. I am looking to get insurance on my own. Prescriptions is another deductible. If you dont need them per month it wont matter much. The older you get the more it will cost your boss and you. Not much real info for you here sorry.
  12. That big stick cam can really move air .The 2nd gen rods are the strong ones. I know of a dude who did that same thing twice :lmao2:My neighbor knows the good years for the 3rd gens. I think he said 04 and up are less prone to injector problems.
  13. I went to the dealer for my blank ecm, they gave me the program #. Then went to a C-power cummins shop and gave them the blank ecm and told them to burn program# 383237306j in it. They did. Works fine. Some people say Bob wagner can reprogram any ecm.
  14. Them 3rd gen's can make easy big power. Twin pumps, edm'ed injectors,s400 and a smarty and you can hit 800hp. The only bummer is the weak rods they tend to throw them out of the block.
  15. I have a 6" inlet amsoil filter and a filter wrap thingie. With that sock wrap thingamajig i cant see any dirt getting in. I also have a bhaf that i tryed from napa. It seemed like it didnt flow as well. My turbo is a 64 and thats not real big. Maybe i should test it somehow with egt amd mpg ?
  16. Are any of you running a bhaf with an aftermarket turbo ?
  17. So you get a cam sensor code ?
  18. Yes thats the thing. See mine had a flap on the lower right. Thats how i compiled all that crud. I shot mine out as well.
  19. I was just on 173 in zion i needed 134a. We should hang out some time.
  20. Did you guys have that white micro thin wrap around your factory evap ?
  21. --- Update to the previous post... This is the nasty evap. The factory has a micro thin wrap on this and it has a flap, thats the chunk of crud in the right corner. The hole you can see.
  22. Thats what i am talking about . The 24v vp trucks are fine out the box. It is around 160k win the money starts to go away from my pocket into the truck.
  23. To do the head gasket you need clear bags so you can lable the stuff and put it back in the same place. Start off by putting the windshield wipers all the way up. The rubber gromits under the cowl are so you can get the push rods out and the wiper motor arm will be in the way. Drain the rad and wile it is off put the lower hose back on and get some dawn dish soap and squeeze it in let it soak with hot water. Put some in the heater core and back flush it. Then pull the return line off the back of the head.Remove the valve cover, injection lines, cross over tubes, injectors. start on the front head put every thing in a bag and mark it 1, then 1 intake, 1 exhaust, etc Get a cherry picker on the back of the head is a factory hook ring the front one is by the thermostat. I am sure i am forgetting something. If you want to call me i can talk you through it. It just takes time.
  24. I tryed to do my auto and transfer case solo. I removed it all fine. On the install i found out i needed a frame stretcher, I used the factory jack and a 2x6, then my wife jacked up the tranny and i moved it in until i could get a bolt in. I used a floor jack and a strap. I did the transfer case myself. It was heavy and hard to do but it worked out. Be careful.
  25. The 01's have tm that helps the trannys. The thing about 24v's you covered. Lift pump, the ecm's fry and you cant test them, factory trans 50/50, puke can mod, the evap in the dash rot as well as the heater core, on 4wd you can spend big cash on the front end, factory trans cooler lines rub on the frame as they turn up to the cooler, the vp can last 20k miles or 125k miles, if the guy used the tilt wheel often the wire can fray and it wont start, apps dont last, cant test it. Did they put a cam sensor when they did the vp? Thats a buger to change with the pump on but possible. Fass 150/150 is a slick pump
