  1. Anything is possible. You are only limited by your creativity.
  2. It's normal for the pump to only run for a second when you turn the key to acc. Try bumping the starter it should run for about 20 sec, if it does all is well on the LP circuit.
  3. He is lucky that was a pretty ugly cut. I've spent a lot of time in the little town of Kensal ND over the years where i met Ryan. Geez talk about a small world. Next time you see hid ask him about deer hunting in his 1/2 ton chev and how to get frozen deer poop off your windshield.
  4. I'd say you're on the right track. There's a good write up o how to test the APPS in the article databse. How many miles are on your buddys rig? Any poweradders, low power, or excessive smoke?
  5. I haven't installed it yet but you could try this.
  6. I agree if I was plowing commercially I would buy the correct mount for the vehicle that just bolts on but my plow is for personal use and almost never leaves private property. My mounts(built a couple) start life as a pile of steel. I'm just trying to clear up the popular misconception that you can't weld a frame. It's steel and if done properly it will be just as safe/strong/reliable as a bolt.
  7. This is what I wanted to say just couldn't put it to words like the conversational wizard does.
  8. I have an early 90s ford I've been plowing with for 4 years that I welded the the brackets right to the frame. No cracks and these frames are known to crack on there own. Just like anything there is a right way and a wrong way to do it. I hear "don't weld on frames" a lot and I'm not buying it. I've shortened/lengthened and fixed plenty of frames never to crack again.
  9. Well their loss! There's still plenty of pipe to fit in the concentrator.
  10. Hey MNTom, I've been hear about 3 years. I actually moved here from your fair city. You didn't work at that dirty ol mine did you?
  11. Where did you get your heaters from?
  12. I've actually had the unfortunate experience of working on quite a few 6.0s. I have to admit I like driving/towing with that powerstroke. Ford did put together a pretty solid pickup just to bad they didn't spend a little more time on the engine.
  13. Actually just towed my truck home with a 6.0 powerstroke and lost a head gasket along the way...not a good day for oil burners
  14. Pretty warm right now at -6. I had - 23 this morning I think it's supposed to get above zero sometime this week
  15. And there's only so much preplanning a guy can do before you give up look for other options.
  16. I was actually just looking at these today. I think I'm going to order a couple they look like a pretty quality product for the price and I'm getting pretty fast at changing fuel filters which isn't a skill I want.
  17. Also been looking around the artic fox website. Some expensive stuff but at $45 every 15 miles for filters it might be cost effective.
  18. Buzzinthirddozen ha I like it, is that because it only runs on three cylinders. The problem is I have to drive 40 to 80 miles for decent fuel. I thought I could take the station owners word that it's blended to 15 below. I know where I can get a 250 gal fuel oil tank I'm thinking about buying in bulk from a known good source.
  19. Update. Full tank of "winter blend" plus liberal amounts of power service since I couldn't find Howes anywhere. Gelled yesterday at -12 deg. Changed filters last night, drove 15 miles to work today and gelled after work after 5 minutes of idling. So there it will sit until April.
  20. Glad it's running good again, I just changed filters in the parking lot at work in -18 air temp after a night shift...I still have most of my fingers. Also a good anti-gel would be better than 911, that stuff is pretty nasty. I like Howes diesel treat.
  21. It should be hanging under the dash left of the steering column. I think it even has the same color wires as an aftermarket controller.
