  1. I'd say you got it narrowed down. Good power and ground it should work. Another thing you could do to test the radio/wiring is grab any old house speaker and hook the leads to speaker wires in your door.
  2. www.clipsandfasteners.com I ordered a bunch of christmas trees from here when i re-did my truck, pretty good quality actually.
  3. Well I'm interested to know how they perform in the dirt. What was the tire dealers reason for avoiding AT tires? Softer compound?
  4. Have you taken them for a ride yet?
  5. Did you have to get different lug nuts?
  6. Looking good! Now I'm jealous, I might have to order a set. Are those the same offset/back spacing as the stock wheels?
  7. And make sure you check them again after a few days.
  8. Also I did actually look at putting LT on it but not much luck finding any in my size.
  9. The old tires are less than two years old and are ST rated. What's the reasoning is behind an ST losing load capacity after 3 years and an LT won't? They're both a radial tire so the basic construction should be the same. I can see maybe dry rot but not after 3 years. I mean the tires I just bought were made in 2012....
  10. Also a big increase in Canadian traffic lately. No offense to any northerners on here but the speed limit is 55...most like to go 60ish. Seems like every Canadian license plate I see is going 40 or 90. Maybe it's the whole MPH/ KPH thing.
  11. Only during tourist season. Lots of people driving up the shore of Lake Superior to sight see. Generally doesn't bother me except when they stop in the middle of the highway to take a picture of a tree.
  12. Due to a recent run in with a fence post I got to buy two new tires for my car trailer. So now I have two nearly new load range D tires rated at 2500 pounds and two brand new load range E tires rated at 2800 pounds. I'm thinking I should run one of the new tires on either side of the trailer but I have a few things to ponder on. The trailer is a 20ft 10k pound car hauler that's loaded to max weight quite often. -Would it matter which axle front or rear. Don't the fronts tend to scrub more on a tight corner? -Since the LRE has a stiffer side wall and doesn't squish as much will this transfer more weight to the softer tires causing them to run hot? I'm probably overthinking this but I have tendancy to do that
  13. Strange winter here too. I think only plowed the driveway maybe 5 times all season. Still has gas in it from last year. Compared to last year that seemed like I was plowing 5 times a week. Rain or snow we could use some more it's looking pretty dry out there.
  14. Same here. Another 3 weeks and it should be turning green but unless we get some moisture it won't last long, had a very dry winter, less than a foot of snow all winter and most of it was dry stuff and was gone within a week or two of falling.
  15. I agree. I can deal with "stuff happens" at a crappy time. But 2 tires, that were brand new, because of a $3 fence post and my own stupidity....I need a beer.
  16. Best of luck with the new German. I also have replaced a few grills due to a puffy chested Nodack ring neck.
  17. So I got some gravel today to fix up my driveway. Got the first 5 yards home without issue except while unloading a lift cylinder on my loader decided to start puking hydraulic oil. Huh, well that's annoying. Go get the second load and park at the end of the driveway. I come back a few minutes later to a puddle of coolant and a split side tank on my radiator. Really?! So it's starting to rain, I'm annoyed, calling it a day. Well that metal fence post I sheared off with the plow truck over the winter...found it.
  18. Free truck/trailer wash. Loving the road salt
  19. Never seen one before but looks like a good product. Best of both worlds between a hard shell and a roll up tonneau cover.
  20. What I've done before for garage alignments is put some grease between two pieces of steel plate and put them under the front tires. Little messy but makes a good turnplate. Just make sure you chock both sides of both rear tires or the front end can slide over.
  21. I know how you feel they can be a real pain to get off. I usually take a couple of my smallest, and I mean small, flat blade screw drivers and tap them under the cover towards the bottom until it starts to seperate. Next I have a small chisel I ground down to a thin point and a very gradual wedge. Once you break the seal on the rtv it usually comes pretty easy. Be careful not to wedge it to hard in one area or you can tweak the flange on the cover. Also a chisel can put a pretty good gouge in the mating surface if you really get after it. I don't know about torque specs but I clean the bolts up good and using a crisscross pattern snug the bolts while holding the head of the ratchet in the palm of your hand. Most new install leaking covers I've seen are caused by over tightening the bolts. Go around a few times and your done. Usually helps if you take a few beer breaks to prevent wrenches getting thrown.
  22. Decisions decisions I do like the prices on westach gauges
  23. So I'm finally ordering an egt gauge and looking for some suggestions. What have you guys had success/failures with?
  24. The previous owner of my truck put a cheaper clamp together 4" turbo back on it. Its been on there for about 4 years and the only thing ive had fix is the pipe started to crack around the welds for the exhaust hangers. Other than that no issues.
  25. Good to hear the ol hammer mill is back on the road. Keep us updated if if you find a new spot for the posi lock lever. I recently installed mine and agree the location is a pretty inconvenient. Also mine engages pretty good but it's kind of a pain to disengage. Double checked all the adjustments any suggestions on that?
