Wife broke down with my truck... Castleton Vt
Website looks pretty legit. With a 2yr warranty they must have some faith in their product. I'd say it's a good option.

For $998 it's hard to believe it's got a new computer.

Question about Torque Managment & De-fueling
Exactly. They could at least supply a weather proof butt connector, those are pretty stupid proof. I was ready to buy a brand new car trailer until I crawled underneath it and saw scotch locks everywhere. Told the salesman for that kind of money I shouldn't have to re-wire the whole thing.

Question about Torque Managment & De-fueling
As long as it's done correctly I have no problem with it. But if there's a way to avoid cutting factory wiring I'm all for it. I have spent many frustrating hours trying to navigate through other peoples hack job wiring.

head gasket or something else?
Sorry should have said that differently. Typically dex will turn into a engine clogging mess on its own if someone actually tries to get the stated 5yrs/1500,000 miles. If a lot of glycol is added to the system then yes, orange and green don't play nice. I was referring to top offs which I know will go years without causing damage or turning to sludge.

head gasket or something else?
Well these motors are fairly common for intake plenum gasket leaks and not changing the coolant doesn't help. Dex and green will mix without issue it just reduces the life of the coolant down to standard green coolant flush intervals. I don't really see what wal mart could have done to cause this issue. Before you take the head off you should really do a leak down test, or bare minimum a compression test to save yourself some time/money just in case the HG and valves are fine. If it did hydro lock there's a fair chance something bent though. These are pretty easy cars to work on so I wouldn't scrap it just yet if the rest of the car is in decent shape. It's been a while but I've done a few HG jobs on these engines so any questions feel free to ask.

48RE auto trans. in 04.5 ; time for service/refresh, advice?
I know you probably don't play favorites, but any suggestions for a VB? Most of the bigger names in the game pretty good? I'm trying to decide who to give all my money to.

Nissan Titan XD
Yep that's the rumor, I think it is a 2.8l duramax though. I know I'm pretty pumped to see small diesel pickups coming back.

Got a ScanGaugeIl
Unless your doing a fair amount of city driving I'd say that's a bit low. My car hauler weighs about 3,000# empty and I get around 16-17mpg hauling it at 60-70mph.

Sad news
Looks like a fairly straight forward process, just degrease and roll it on. Do you recommend a wooden or rubber roller? How about the roof, did you put any under the headliner?

Radio trouble
It will all make sense why you get in there. I just put a radio in mine from crutchfield, completely plug and play.

Cummins Prices
Seems like anything around here that's "rust free" goes for blood. I'm actually looking for a Suburban for my wife right now. I think I'll be driving about 6-8 hours west and saving about 2-3k for something that's actually rust free.

Do you have a favorite place to get seal kits from? All this A/C talk lately has motivated me to get mine working again.

Just comparing to the last ND ticket I got. It's been a few years since that one though.

I'm done with NAPA over a failing alternator, and TC lockup issues.
I agree it's time to talk to someone else or try a different napa. I've exchanged napa lifetime warranty parts multiple times without issue.
