G56 Trans
^^^^ This 100%!! I love the way mine shift when it's cold and when it's hot. I just need to get around to buying a temp gauge so I know summer hauling temperatures.

Wheels and Tire Setup
Oops thought I replied. Been busy graduating from school, moving, starting a job, farming, dealing with insurance companies, etc. etc. haha Yeah I'm not sure why it sits so butt-high. Yes it has 2in spacers too.

we can just keep dragging each other to the next parts store!!

August 2017 Eclipse camping
I can probably flex time and stay until Monday. Still working out the details on my end.

Teardown and Rebuild
Yeah.... get that low end torque and see if I can rip this trans in half. I swear if it does it's getting a built auto. It was an 83 exhaust wheel with a 1.1 housing. Should have just run it as a single haha. No the tinkering doesn't. Just wait until cam time....

Castor or toe adjustment?!
We have no camber adjustments from the factory. Like others have said, offset ball joints are possible, but not from the factory. The bolts shown are caster adjustments. Basically they set the angle the pinion angle. If they're tight and you don't have any goofy steering going on, I wouldn't mess with them. @Haggar you're right, but from the factory they are set at pretty much zero for camber, so when you roll the bottom of the axle forward or backwards you'll get relatively no change in the camber.

Teardown and Rebuild
Not necessarily. It could get the primary into a better place on the map. 5k + elevation Towing, DDing, Going fast at the track. Never over 4K rpm. I'll just have to get a gauge in it and see what the pressures are now and we'll see if it's worth it to buy another housing.

Wheels and Tire Setup
I believe the stud change to metric was 2013. I've used the 2010 lugs on mine without issue. I'll probably run these wheels during the summers and my 4th gen wheels during the winter to keep the crap off of the body. The 4th gen 17's look good IMO.

Dropping below idle
Two 3/4in heater hoses and a 1/2in heater hose on mine and I've never had an issue with them trying to kink. I think if they did it would blow the hoses back open Anything is possible with enough fuel and air!

Teardown and Rebuild
He said it's made by borg now and not machined from a different housing, so I'm thinking it's actually the 1.15. I am having trouble finding it though. This is the only place I can find it. Look at the very bottom of the page. http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/industrial-injection/borgwarner-s400-sx-e-88mm-10-blade-fmw-turbo.htm?popup=n&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhdCM5ZHP1AIVCFcNCh1C2gD1EAQYASABEgIsgfD_BwE

Teardown and Rebuild
I don't see a point in playing with it before getting injectors.... It does seem to run pretty hot right now with the gate open, so I've got it shut. Weston advised changing the primary housing to a 1.1 AR. Thoughts?

Teardown and Rebuild
Got a Seth Farrell stage 3 pump put on a week or two ago. The difference is nothing short of amazing. I made sure the timing was "perfect" using a screwdriver on the piston and a dial gauge to make sure it was at TDC. The new pump was pinned at 18* BTDC, so that's where I've got it set. I'll post the pump specs later, but I think it flows 440cc's max and is set around 370 or so. I'll throw up some pictures later as well. 6x0.013 injectors are ordered from Infinite Performane. Hopefully that'll clear up the skip around idle. After those are done, lift pump, pressure regulator, cam tappets, etc. are coming!

Teardown and Rebuild
That would be nice! I no longer have access to that type of equipment though. I got it cleaned up with sand paper though, so it should be good.

Teardown and Rebuild
Much more common on the 160/175 pumps. Chit happens though I guess I'll probably keep both sets of those I have too

Teardown and Rebuild
Got a bit to update. I've moved away from Denver (thank god) Anyway, I got the Crazy Carl intake plenum installed. I wasn't super happy with the quality of the sealing surface, but I got it cleaned up well enough to seal 70ish psi of boost. I don't have any pics of it on yet. Then mother nature decided to rear her ugly head and hail 4 days before I moved out of Denver. $2,400 worth of damage to the truck and $8,200 worth of damage to my car. Pictures of it don't show up well, but the hood is really bad. It's being replaced, so the truck will be getting a steel cowl hood. I've got to get the car fixed first though. I did some towing with my permanently unlocked fan clutch and things got toasty, so I put the permanently locked one on. Temps easily stayed cool with it. Wheels and tires I'm still a bit undecided on buying. They're the same size tire, just a different rim. Now for the fun stuff. The truck has been running a bit rougher than normal lately, so I pulled the injectors. The 3 that didn't get new nozzles look horrible with built up carbon and plugged holes. They definitely weren't spraying right (<1,500 miles on the rebuild). The other 3 with the new nozzles looked fine. So I stuffed @trreed's old ones back in and that smoothed it out some. Now the truck has always had a touch of rough idle with the Ppump once warm, and even with Trevor's injectors it was still worse than before. There's also a ticking or tapping noise coming from the pump when it's warmed up. After lots of reading and talking to @jlbayes I cracked the injection lines one by one. Well, when #3 is cracked the tapping in the pump goes away. The tapping is also quieter with higher fuel pressure. After talking to Seth Ferrell there's either a plunger or barrel problem on #3. So the pump is shot.... Seth has a 2.5 week or longer lead time, so Tuesday I'm going to call Columbus Diesel and see how long it'll take them to get me a pump. My car is going under the knife soon for body repairs, so hopefully they have what I want on the shelf. @Me78569, it is cursed.

trreed's upgrade thread
I am the witch doctor..... Or in my case, lose all. I'll throw an update in my thread. Lots of CRAP going on, as usual.

Tappets
Looks good!! Make sure to take some videos while you're at it.

which combo?....
For the 05 you need to set a power goal and stick with it. CP3 wise you can run a single huge cp3 and get tons of fuel out of it. Exergy even makes a 14mm pump.... I would suggest getting the turbo(s) you want for your power goal from the beginning instead of putting it together and changing it later. You'll have to get tuning and other things changed as you change hard parts. Setting your wanted HP is the big thing here. For the 01, SO pumps usually run out of fuel in the 650hp range + - 50hp depending on the health of the pump. The 62 you have on it now compounded with an s475 is a nice street setup that should burn the fuel a VP can supply.

Intercooler
An aftermarket intercooler will do absolutely nothing for you.... I don't think it did a thing for me (other than make the engine run hotter) and I've got a bit more on the performance side. I'd try and find a good used one or wherever you can get an OEM style one.

Pdi or diesel power source exhaust manifold
@jlbayes isn't a big fan of the 3 piece manifolds, but the one I had held up well (better than the turbo exhaust housing) I liked it and now it's running around on another truck. It was a diesel power source. They can be had for a reasonable price, unlike the stainless manifolds.

Grid Heater
The engine has right about 27K Transmission about 70K Transfer case 10K Rear diff was loose, but after putting in a new seal and tightening the nut it's tight so it should be fine. I'm worried about the little things like wheel bearings, and belt driven bearings. I'm really worried about the fuel system. I'm expecting the lift pump to die at any day now. That'll be 700-800 bucks for a proper lift pump / regulator / filter setup that'll support 800ish hp.

Grid Heater
215k The biggest difference is how far I am from being able to fix it myself. If it craps a wheel bearing 120 miles from home, that's not a big deal. Throw it on the trailer and take it home. If it craps a wheel bearing 800 miles from home, that's going to be a hefty tow / repair bill. I also have a big problem with letting others work on it. I simply don't trust anyone to work on it. If I have the $$ this summer to do a bunch of the preventative things, fuel system, etc. I'll definitely consider it.

Grid Heater
It's getting to that mileage where you just don't know what's going to die next. wheel bearings alternator fan hub bearing idlers water pump (I go through a couple of those each year) sensors / relays Issues it's always had PS pump hydro boost / steering gear causing the PS pump to die really fast Lift pump is running WAY above what it was intended for What I need to buy to finish the fuel system draw straw or sump lift pump all new lines external regulator filter setup

Grid Heater
I'll have to throw it on a trailer and have Nick tow it out there 1 step at a time! 6.7 is probably next....

Grid Heater
I'll have to try and catch @Me78569 the next time I'm coming through CO Springs. Hopefully Friday. You free Nick?? You need to drive this thing anyway.
