Teardown and Rebuild
Forgot to update this - I got the pump in and it's 100% better. Everything seems to be running very smooth. The Pump's oil leak turned out to be a problem with the intermediate governor housing, so that was replaced. All seems good for now. Hopefully a cam and paint / bodywork coming soon

Alright, lets see it, Who's doing Movember?

200 Degree Thermostat... POSSIBLE?
You shouldn't see any ill effects. https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/MRD456200 If you're having trouble getting up to temp, something to block the radiator would probably help too.

Tyler's 4th Gen
I downloaded and have been playing with the software. It's all pretty similar to the old UDC. I don't know what some of the tables do, but hopefully I can do some research and figure out what they control and the outcomes of changing them. My brother just bought the dongle for UDC Pro RT, so I'll be playing with that shortly. It's very similar to the WARP tuning, so that'll get me familiar with it. MPG is NOT good stock. I'll pull the fuel logs and post them up.

Tyler's 4th Gen
I'mma sell MY second compound kit to someone else. I consider deleting it more and more every day..... Do you know some people who have tuned 4th gens? Specifically the trans? I'm confident I can make the engine run the way I want it to, but I want the trans to stay reliable. I don't plan on taking the power up - just deleting the emissions and tuning the trans to shift better.

Tyler's 4th Gen
Lots. You got a text. When I drag it out Friday I'll get a bunch. Agreed with the power. It's impressive! When it comes to deleting, having the SCR isn't a big deal. It's just a couple more blank plugs. The tank and everything can stay in the truck. The injector / sensors stay in the exhaust when removed. Yes I can hear myself think! No screaming turbo when cruising down the road, although when I ride with the girlfriend sometimes I miss the loud turbo I'll see how it does towing Friday. Starting with a fresh tank and running 120 or so miles with an empty 25ft tandem dual gooseneck and 120 with the trailer loaded. As long as I don't get pulled over! How do you like the raceme ultra?? I've been looking into tuning mine myself. I have a hard time letting someone else build tunes when I can do it myself!

Teardown and Rebuild
My 2nd gen isn't allowed to die. It tries, but I always manage to revive it! Yes, I went with an auto No worries! My Ppump is on its way back from Seth Farrell. I'm going to try and get it in this weekend and get an appointment setup to get the hail damage fixed. Tyler's 4th Gen
Link to the truck info: https://mopar1973man.com/garage/vehicle/143-2014-ram-2500/?show=tab_3 I'm starting this thread to keep track of everything I do to my new to me 2014 Ram 2500 Laramie. I don't have plans to go crazy with it like I did the 2nd gen. The most it'll probably ever have is a mild towing tune and deletes. How I bought it: 32K miles Completely stock engine trans. 50 gallon transferflow fuel tank in the bed, Air lift bags with in-cab controls, and a tri-fold tonneau cover. Picture from the CL ad: Pictures of the day I got it home: Big difference between 96 and 2014 I did purchase the factory style in-bed gooseneck kit last week to pull the big trailers with. It's made by Kurt, and everything seems to fit and work as it should. I've put the truck to work right away as my 2nd gen is down at the moment. 2K in the bed there (bags at 20psi) So from the pictures you can see I don't have the tractor sitting in the right spot. I was being lazy and didn't want to move the tractor after the ramps were up. The first thing I noticed is this truck easily stays level with the bags in the rear. I wouldn't be surprised if the tounge weight was around 3K+ with this load (trailer and tractor together were 13-14K) It's very different towing with an auto - I've never done it with a larger trailer. The trans seemed fine with the load though. The truck has plenty of power in 1-5 even with 3.42 gears. In 6th at 70mph it is below 1500rpm, so I kept it in 5th. The turbo spools wicked fast compared to the 2nd gen, although I can clearly feel when torque management is holding the truck back. The exhaust brake feature is awesome. I'm not sure if it works quite as well as an aftermarket one, but it held everything back pretty well. So far I'm pleased with the purchase! If anyone has questions, ask away!

trreed's upgrade thread
I paid for it, I drove an 2 hours to get it home (In a truck that gets horrible mileage), and it's sitting in my 5 gallon bucket. Sounds to me like Tyler has a compound kit for sale It's too late. The truck I bought had the DPF replaced at 2k miles We need a whole forum section for members who have come in contact with me / my vehicles. All could be contaminated!

Teardown and Rebuild
5 years / 100k on the powertrain. 100k in two years is a lot! Oh I know.... IMO they're hideous, but they do have almost new tires. Meh

Teardown and Rebuild
I'll get it updated here pretty soon. Summer isn't a time I'm online much Not too concerned yet. It's still under warranty, so I don't want to void that. CR injectors have come a long ways.... heck my brother's lasted 180K with no extra filtration until 140K. I don't like the payment, but I love the truck! It's worth it to have something reliable and under warranty. The pictures just don't do the color justice! I'll try and get some interior / bed pictures this week.

Teardown and Rebuild
The pump was sent off to Farrell last week. I picked this up Friday. 2014 Ram 2500 quad cab short bed with a 50 gallon transferflow tank airbags with compressor with 32K on the clock. It'll be nice having something reliable, but don't worry the 2nd gen will still get love!

Still having missing issues. Working with @jlbayes and Seth Farrell to try and get things sorted out.

2 stroke oil??
The benefits are both. The result should be a longer living VP44. 1oz per gallon, so 34oz in a full tank should do it. Make sure to get ashless 2 stroke - other than that, the cheapest you can find. Many here use TCW3 from Wal-Mart

In need of an exhaust manifold
You might want to call and ask them to be sure. If I remember right mine came with 4 SS bolts. 2 are for the turbo, and the other 2 are for the bottom side of the manifold in the center. I think the factory ones are too long.

Advice on gauges
Very happy with my autometer ultralite II. My dad's had a set of ultralite I's in since the late 90s that are still working fine. I would recommend you get an EGT gauge while you're at it.
-
In need of an exhaust manifold
It is, but my compounds require the manifold to be flipped - and I had 2 EGT probes - 1 of which I couldn't string underneath. The only 2 SS bolts required for mounting it are included. The rest can use the stock ones. For me, the stock, SS, and an aftermarket stud kit have all loosened up over time. I recommend high temp thread locker on all of them.

In need of an exhaust manifold
I have that one. It's a good manifold - just don't try to drill and tap it!

Thanks! I'll never claim to be the best welder, but usually they're pretty strong

My addiction
I noticed higher inlet pressure kept mine somewhat happier going from 15 to 22psi on the inlet. It wouldn't die quite as easily.

Blown grid heater relay??
Did it come loose, or did it stick in the on position? I had one stick on.

Teardown and Rebuild
Lolololol That's what you get for being near it! I'm sure @trreeds will start leaking now that he was close to mine! I personally have #6 dumping fuel.... the other 5 are sealed after new crossover tube O rings. I'm 99.9% sure the line isn't sealing to the crossover tube since I pressurized the return system and nothing came out of the #6 area.

My addiction
I'm curious how you get a blockage on the return.....
