  1. Pump and all other parts were good. The only reason they put new clutches in was because they had it tore apart. The old clutches showed a little wear, but were in good shape. I even have all the old parts. They did say the transmission was in good shape for having about 140,000 miles on it.
  2. Might be a day or two before I find out what he is doing. I was talking to him yesterday and he said something about today going to be a long day. He is a mechanic for a cement company and said that he was going into a mixer today because of a 600 yard pour scheduled. That is one huge pour......
  3. Well, my truck is fixed. It was the input shaft, but not quite what I was told........ $1387.75 later I have a rebuilt transmission. The guy working on it decided to put new clutches in, new seals, snap rings, updated some strut, and a few other parts and pieces. Not what I planned for, but that's the way things go sometimes.
  4. Yep. Got a call today and the truck should be ready tomorrow. The splines on the drum end decided to go away....... The estimate is for about $1300 to get my truck back after there are some updates to the trans. and a new stock input. He didn't have the O/D section apart to check for steel or wear, but he didn't anticipate any problems. A word of advice to anyone running stock inputs with higher power..... You WILL have the same problem, but it is not predictable. It depends on how much power, how much towing, how much weight, how you drive, etc. so be prepared. You won't have any symptoms or noise before the input fails.
  5. Either or, but I must say I thought his mom was hot........
  6. That may be what it needs too.
  7. You mean John Connor is among us?? :stuned:
  8. What are you going to do about the input shaft? I jinxed myself and *think* I broke the input. I did a search and it seems as though the inputs will fail eventually with a bit more power and a built transmission. I hope that is all that is wrong with mine.
  9. All you need to do is scrape a bit of paint where you plan on putting the ground wire. If you wanted you could do what you said and move the ground wire. Either one would be good.
  10. That stuff is what you spray tents, sleeping bags (outside of them), other camping gear to make them repel water. I have even sprayed my work boots and they kept my feet a lot dryer in the wet weather.
  11. I don't know about any codes on his truck, so that may point to something. When he would take a test drive and go by me it would be constantly going from lock to unlock at about one second intervals.
  12. Looks to be perfectly fine to me! Bolt it up and you won't see it!! Out of sight=out of mind.....
  13. Naw, the truck is in NE Ohio. I tried a couple of shops that came highly recommended, and was only able to discuss my plans with one, so he got the truck. Maybe Monday I will hear something.
  14. Good. At least it was not something real expensive.....
  15. So, how did you diagnose the solenoids?
  16. Nice when everything goes good, not like my last trip. I am waiting on a transmission shop to see how bad it is going to cost to get mine going again.........
  17. Thank you, I will pass the word on.
  18. I got the truck to a trans shop yesterday. Now it is a waiting game to see what they find. I am dissapointed with Goerend Transmission though. I called them to see if they had a builder in this area and they said they would call a guy and get back to me. Two days later I have not heard from them. I guess just being a parts supplier instead of a builder customer service isn't as important.
  19. One thing he needs to do is take the Oxy regularly. The purpose is not to kill the pain once it starts, but to maintain a level that is tolerable, so tell him to keep popping the pills so the pain stays low.
  20. That is great news!!
  21. Your converter looks to be identical to mine!
  22. Looks good!! That filter will last over 100,000 miles. For the price you can't go wrong with it!
  23. That sounds just like the time my speed sensor on the side of the transmission failed. It would decide to downshift whenever it wanted. It is a five minute fix. Just unscrew the old one and screw the new one in then plug it in!
