He has cleaned the battery terminals and that is when it may work for a month or maybe a couple days. What other ground are you meaning?

O/D Lock-Unlock Issue
I am posting this for my friend (neighbor to my mother). He has a 24V Ram, '01 I think. Anyhow, he has been fighting the lock-unlock problem for a while. I had him pull the alternator fuse and try it. Same thing, no change. I also put a multi-meter on the alt to test for AC voltage and it was .013 volts at the highest. I suggested checking the trailer plug and possibly the brake light switch. He did say that if he cleaned the battery terminals and reset the APPS it might be good for two months or two days. What else should he check?

stock boost question
You know what, Nekkedbob, After being out of the big truck scene for about 25 years I still think the little Cummins is a 1500 to 2100 RPM engine just like the 855 series. I have run a 290, 350, and a 400. The NTC400 was a dog in my opinion.

Toy Hauler problems befre big trip...
At least you got the pump running! Now you need to figure out a way to get the sensors to show you how full the tanks are.

Installing Fifth Wheel Hitch
For your truck there should be four "L" shaped brackets that have two bolt holes that bolt to the frame (long side) and the short side would have one that the bolt goes through the rail to the bracket. The four outer corners are the one's for the brackets and the four inner holes just bolt to the bed. The way they bolt in will have the pin centered right above the axle. Here are the instructions for the hitch I have: http://www.factoryrvsurplus.com/files/Lil_Rocker_Manual.pdf

High Water Temps w/ High EGT
If you do get some soap and water in the radiator, don't worry about it. Just rinse it out and it will be fine.

Actually, the plan was not my idea. My nephew is the one that hatched this plan.

That is my thought. I just hope I didn't hurt the pump or anything else on it. Far as a plan, from what I was told, my nephew will be installing a hitch in his truck and will trailer it to where I am. Then we put my truck on the trailer and use his truck to pull my fiver. That should take place tomorrow I think. JR, once I get to Windsor I can call you (NO THROWING YOUR PHONE IN LAKE ERIE EITHER!!) and discuss things.

I got towed to a trans shop, but know absolutely nothing about them. What happened was I was leaving a rest area and the transmission just shifted into third and BANG!! no more gears, forward or reverse. I am thinking input, intermediate, or output shaft broke, but don't know yet. My nephew is trying to come up with a way to tow my trailer and haul my truck to my destination (NE Ohio). Once I find out what I am doing then I will post my intentions...... This ain't gonna be cheap....

Smoking Trucks / Coal Rollers?
You are right, Bill, it was just opinions, HOWEVER, when you start discussing your opinion about the current administraion (good ro bad) you are discussing politics. Plain and simple. Far as "hiding it in the back room" it wasn't put there to 'hide' it. It was put there so that someone who does not care to discuss or read or look at any politcal posts don't have to. It was also made private to keep the "thin skinned" from getting butt hurt. Aside from that, what does MOST political discussion have with the diesel community helping each other out? Do you really think that posting on here is going to change the political climate in the US? From what I have seen when a political forum is on a diesel pick up site all that happens is it becomes a Democrat/Obama bashing forum. Then it spills out onto the public forums and you have what is going on here. Now you know why I refuse to have a political forum on my site. If you recall Bill, THIS is the main cause I walked away from another forum. Again, I am going to respectfully request you take it to the political forum.

2003 Subaru Impresa 2.5L - P0420
Sounds like a contaminated catalytic converter to me. You are probably going to be replacing it real soon.

Read my post right above yours.

Death wobble
You can also set the caster (adjust the control arms) and set the camber if really needed with off set ball joints.

Injector install
Dave, just put a little bit anti-sieze on it and won't be a problem, but most of the time just put them in with a light coat of grease and you will be fine.

Steering upgrade, possibilities for 2WD
That is more of an alignment issue than anything else. I drove a 3500 Chevy work truck and they have just about exactly the same front end and it drove great. I have had mine to four different alignment shops in one year and none of them got it right. I did some adjustments to it in my garage and got it better.

Hit a deer @ 60 mph
Another thing to keep in mind is your insurance would much rather have you hit the deer (or other animal) and stay on the road than attept to avoid it and loose control because of the potential bodily injury to you and/or other people, especially an innocent bystander.

Son in accident
Well, that shot that idea down. Just remember, they are called accidents for a reason. Hang in there, like what was said, it will be a while before he is up and around like it didn't happen.
-
Son in accident
Glad he is doing ok. Was there another vehicle involved? Who or what actually caused the crash? I am not looking for morbid details except looking for some place else to get insurance from to help pay medical bills.

Hit a deer @ 60 mph
They usually don't fare too well in that situation. Did you claim any meat from it??

Hard start after sitting
Dave, the stock ECM cuts the power to the lift pump. A lot of guys will wire their lift pump into the power window circuit so that when the key is in the start position the power is shut off to the lift pump.

High Water Temps w/ High EGT
When your fan kicks on you WILL hear it. If your water temp is getting that high and you have not heard it then you probably need to think about a new fan clutch.
