  1. You also need to remember that on a N/A or non turbo'd engine (most gassers) the size of the exhaust is in itself a bit of engineering to keep the proper velocity for scavenging purposes, but once you throw a turbo in the mix it changes everything. On a gasser if you go to large you run into the problem of the exhaust cooling in the pipe causing turbulence since cooler exhaust is harder to push than warmer exhaust. A turbo pretty much eliminates that by combining the pulses that normally travel down the exhaust. If you have time to kill here is some technical reading: http://www.mech.kuleuven.be/en/doctorates/persoons.pdf
  2. There is no real need to increase the size of the exhaust unless you are quite high in HP. But, I can tell you that by going to a larger exhaust even with the smaller flange there is going to be a slight pressure difference with the larger pipe. Since the larger pipe has a lower pressure than the flange it actually can have a venturi effect there by assisting in drawing the exhaust into the pipe at a higher velocity.
  3. Bolts will be on their way soon as I get to the post office.
  4. Worse case scenario Napa in Waco has one for $147.60 + $56 core Part Number: NSP 88278154 or they have another one for $$156.60 and a $225 core Part Number: NSP 88278136. I don't know what the difference is, but you may have a relatively cheap fix.
  5. Cool picture! Sounds like you need to find a place to rent so you are on your own again. Both my kids moved back home after college and it didn't take that long before they were chomping at the bit to get out again! Once you get a taste of it it is hard to go back.......
  6. Sounds like a rebuild is definitely in order. If I have access to the right tools and equipment it would be an easy decision for me. I say cut them off and make new ones.
  7. Here is a place that may have something you may like: http://www.elementwheels.com/vehiclesearch.asp or maybe this place: https://www.wheelfire.com/scontent/wheelresults.cfm?wheelsize=20&VehicleMakeFinal=Dodge&VehicleYearFinal=2006&VehicleModelFinal=Ram%202500&VehicleOption=2wd-4wd If you do a google search for rims to fit your truck there are tons of places (but you knew that).
  8. I could have gotten those, but the rims are only rated for 65 PSI (I thought) but I dismounted one tire and the sticker says 75 psi, but it had a rubber valve stem on it. I have not seen a rubber valve stem rated that high. All I have ever seen were rated at 65 psi.
  9. I have Duro tires on my trailer now and they have a date code of 0305 (third week of 2005). They did me great, no problems at all and they have been mounted since 2005. There are no cracks, no weather checking that I can see, and the tread is still great. The only reason I am changing them is because of the date of manufacture. Since I hope to be putting more miles on the trailer I don't want to be worrying about them.
  10. Wow! Good! The USPS worked a little faster than expected!!
  11. I'm glad you are getting somewhere with the trailer. If the screws are like the picture they should be fairly easy to install. They are the ones used on a semi trailer too. I want to see pictures when you are done, Russ.
  12. And here when I read the title I thought you "went to the other side" :ahhh:
  13. Been MANY years since I have been to the Missoula area. I have been off the road for about 25 years...... Now that I am retired I am hoping to spend some time on it again, BUT, at a much slower pace.
  14. You should have one Monday.
  15. I needed to replace the tires on my fiver so after researching tires (didn't want any "China Bombs") I decided to get Maxxis 8008 tires. The only problem is there are no dealers anywhere even remotely close. So, I let Google do the walking for me and found a place called Simple Tire that had the best price of $88.99 each plus shipping. I ordered four tires and once they got here I realized I screwed up and ordered the wrong tires. The tires I received had a capacity of 2150# and both axles weigh 8920#. I thought crap, this means I need to order the right ones and try to sell the wrong ones.... I was looking on Simple Tire's website for the right tires (cap 2540#) and they had a chat window. I thought, why not?, so I started a chat about exchanging them. Lo and behold they said No problem! All I needed to do was pay the shipping back and they will send the ones I want! They did all the work, sent me a receipt and prepaid shipping labels plus notified FedEx to pickup the tires. AND they were very pleasant about the whole thing! The tires I am getting are 225/75R15 for only $93.99 each. Shipping is a bit higher at $17 per tire. Most everywhere else wanted $150 or so per tire. Even with the shipping I think I did OK.
  16. Surprising how just a simple oil change can make such a difference! So, where you going to be heading to?
  17. I had a neighbor many, many years ago that put up his own horseradish. Processing it liked to burn the skin off your eyes, but once it was done you could eat it with a spoon. I never did figure out how he did that, but I was quite young then.

Michael, you can come and I will let you sample some of my moonshine or the fresh case of beer in the basement fridge or even the Angry Orchard stuff (wife's but I will probably be the one to "dispose" of it) that I have on hand. Yes, I just made my every other month beer run.......
  19. I really don't know! I have not even watched the movie........
  20. Local 11 out of Duluth Mn. I was only in for 13 years, but this damn Menier's disease put a stop to that.....

This is the brand. Not sure if it is 'real' shine or not, but it goes down nice but SLOWLY. I don't think I would like to try a big gulp of it........ Here is the website: http://uncrate.com/stuff/midnight-moon-moonshine/
  22. I was at a liquor store yesterday and saw some quart jars that said they had moonshine in them. Well, I was curious so I bought a jar of the cherry flavored stuff. I was reading the label (later) and it said it was 100 proof. I tried some last night. I am not sure it is real moonshine or not, but it was pretty good! Potent, but good. I did learn real quick that it doesn't take a lot for you to feel it! I used a smaller size glass and only filled it about half way. Since the glass just barely holds a 12 oz I am guessing that I had less than 6 oz of the shine. I sure don't think I would want to try to pass a breath test after only that little bit!
  23. Normally......LOL Now you know where you got your "smarts" from! Actually, that area has probably about 3 weeks or so more summer than I do!
  24. I'm glad you figured out what seems to be the problem. That is not a bad price for getting them checked, but now you need new ones..... that can get real pricey. Maybe I should keep my poor old 12 valve!
