  1. Check the trigger wire for the relay. Maybe a loose connection in the relay socket? Sometimes the spade connectors open up and become loose.
  2. Man, that sucks. I was working on the heating system at an International dealer close to me and they had a county plow truck in to get fixed. All that was wrong was the left front turn signal did not flash. The tech working on it said the computer was the problem and it would be a $700 fix!! Sometimes I really wonder about the computers running everything.......
  3. Sounds like a plug somewhere is not making connection. I know you have checked, but sometimes it is something real simple that trips us up. If you unplugged any plugs double check to make sure the connectors didn't accidentally pop out of their connector.
  4. Another possible problem is there is a leak on the pressure side of the turbo. Usually though that will cause a noise under load.
  5. Don't forget the role the camshaft plays for a 'built in' EGR. Make the valves open and close when they should and they would be more efficient too.
  6. How you doing with the bearings, Russ? Got it on the road yet?
  7. The first thing to do is check to make sure the slop is coming from the steering gear box. Loosen the lock nut on the over center adjustment and use an allen wrench to tighten the bolt. Only tighten it 1/4 turn at a time!!!!! If you tighten it too much your steering wheel will be tight in the center and be tough to drive. You can also cause premature wear by over tightening it.
  8. Well, shoot. I forgot about the need for AC and transformers.........
  9. Going by the title I thought you was hunting a buddy! Getting that zebra must have been fun!
  10. An easy way to keep someone from starting your truck is to put a switch in (like Moparman said) and wire it to the clutch safety switch. You could even do this with an auto since the wires are in the same place even though there is no clutch pedal. Shut the switch off and the starter won't do anything.
  11. It can be done, but like W&F said, the amount of wiring and relays make it real tough to to. I recall some semi trucks had a 12/24 system in them. 24v was for the starter and 12v to run everything else. All batteries were 12v and charged by the alternator. edit: I got to thinking about this..... Why not just put a transformer in to increase the voltage? Something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/24VCT-24V-12V-Transformer-12V-0-12V-CT-1A-110Vac-220Vac-to-24Vac-12Vac-free-shi-/270826572472
  12. I have not been in that area for about 25 years..... Dang I miss the pretty hills!
  13. Dang, they look like new heads!
  14. That's like saying "You are not too fast and not too slow. That means you are half fast!".
  15. Last time I went through CDA you still had to go through town!! The interstate wasn't done there yet.
  16. Geez, that would be enough to piss off the Good Humor Man........ Glad it is getting straightened out. I would be opening the package before I left the parts counter.
  17. The quad cab was introduced for the entire 1998 model year and the 24 valve was introduced part way into the 1998 model year. My daughter has a '98QC 12v that was from the beginning of the model year. Generally speaking the 98 MY was 12V and the '98 1/2 was 24V. The Club Cab was also available very early in the same year.
  18. Dang, first your trailer and now this? You sure are living good, Russ! Where was the oily spot? Front, right behind the tire, back by the tank? Are you still using the stock return line?
  19. You do realize that the bathroom is the most expensive (by $ per sq. ft.), don't you? The kitchen is next. You just got yourself a bunch of work! LOL It looks to be not so bad of a job. One thing I would recommend it=s to get rid of that 90* elbow in the vanity trap arm. Cut it back and put a 45* in it and it will come out more square to the wall.
  20. The compressor will cycle on the pressures, primarily low pressure. The reason for this is to keep from freezing up the evaporator (the coil inside the cab). The slower the fan goes the lower the load is on the coil so it will get colder and that causes a pressure drop and then the cycling of the compressor starts. As long as it stays cold in the cab I would not get to exited about the cycling of the compressor.
  21. Why would they want it to look like IE and Chrome? If they are going to make FF the same the should just close the doors far as I am concerned. edit: I just tried that Theme Restorer and it made it somewhat like it was, but the controls on the right side were still there so I disabled it and am going to try the version 29.
  22. Just updated to the next level (29) and I DON'T LIKE IT. I should have left it alone.
  23. Glad to hear you got things going your way! It always helps when your job is something you enjoy. Then it is not a job! Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
  24. Michael, your Firefox is a lot different than mine. I am running version 28, what version are you running?
