  1. Unless you are buying junk oil which is hard to find, most major oils are pretty much the same. People just like to get too much into it. I know a guy that ran regular rotella with 10,000 mile oil change and fleetguard filter, at 450,000 miles he pulked the head and pan and everything looked brand new.
  2. You are not suppose to mix oils. A guy i work with said he went to a conference on oils and the major brands were there saying that depending on where the oil is from (gulf, east coast, west coast) that they will seperate from each other. I am going to start running delvac since i hate he way rotella makes it smell like there is a leak
  3. I heard banks is already putting stuff on the ecodiesel but i would never buy anything from gale.
  4. Does your turbo have a high pitched squeel? Pull the intake off the turbo and look for rub marks on the housing from the fins. Also move it up and down and it should have about the same movement as the thickness of a quarter
  5. I missed the link for the video. You have an injector stuck open. Do you have a temp gun? I actually wouldnt run it much. You will wash a cylinder.
  6. Wwow they are blowing smoke up your @##. These engines are self priming, the only thing i do after installing injectors is run he lift pump a couple times then start cranking. Sounds like you got junk injectors. There are only a couple people i trust to get injectors from.
  7. Its a smart move by ram/fiat. Only need parts for 2 diesel engines and from what i have heard, the cummins is a fuel hog. Ram said hat for what the 5.0 is putting out for power, that most people will just buy a 3/4 ton to use it. There was an article in the diesel power magazine where they overloaded the 1500 and it still got 19 mpg. And got something like 29mpg at 75mph. I cant wait to see what they actually get with a broke in engine. Every article i have read on th new ecodiesels, they have been realky happy with the power/mileage. I just wish i could afford one.
  8. 15-40 year round. 99% of the people i know do the same
  9. Just go buy a 1/2" in/out metal inline filter. I think they are like 140 micron. And then just replace it when you replace filters. I have been putting them in on the raptors. You can get them from the auto parts stores. I can't remember the part number right now. The filters are cheap so no need to clean them. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/mrg-2526?seid=srese1&gclid=CLm9ytHx1bwCFdFAMgodgXgAkw
  10. I have actually installed some injectors for an emd locomotive from them. So they must be big if bnsf is usuing them
  11. The last two pickups i have done, the bolts are flush with the nut. They are shifting perfect, dont sweat it. Im thinking this will last until the next trans service. Then it will be rebuild time
  12. Ya im not saying its good or not just trying to find info. This winter has been brutal on fuel. I didnt believe he was running #2 since i do believe all fuel is blended except #1. I will try it once it gets cold out and see how it does. Will just add 2stroke to make sure there is enough lube.
  13. I am almost certain you have a vacuum pump. The 03s had them but your hvac controls are electric. Atleast the 03s i have seen are that way. The pump will be up by the airbox its a black and orange pump if i remember right
  14. Cascade transmission parts I do believe stall speed can be tested by power stalling and the rpms it holds at is the stall speed
  15. Adjust bands everytime you drop fluid. You are not suppose to flush it if you have never done it before or on a regular basis. I would suggest doing govenor pressure sensor /transducer and govenor pressure solenoid.
  16. Spec for injectors is between 0 and 1 ohm
  17. Ive been knocking the u-joint cap into the center which will relieve the tension off the clip than i use a punch and hammer on the end of he clip
  18. You are running 911 as an anti-gel?
  19. Or you can come north and i will instal anything he wants
  20. Mythbusters did a show where they dimpled a car with clay and actually got better mileage. Didnt toyota have a car maybe 10 years ago that had a dimpled under carrige?
  21. Stay away from ats. They are just a name. Call erick at browns diesel he will hook you up with the right turbo
  22. Ya its a basic safe programmer. Most companies will advertise their product hp/tq at the crankshaft under ideal conditions.
  23. The super chips is actually a weak programmer so you can run it all day long with no problems. Biggest thing for common rails is clean fuel (2 micron) and not to idle them.
  24. I run 2 stroke in the summer but i need something good for gelling in the winter. I have seen every product gel up this winter so i am willing to try something different
  25. Has anybody tried this stuff yet? I put a raptor on a guys pickup and he gave me two quarts of this stuff. He said he has been using it for years on his tractors and pickups. He said he has ran #2 all winter so far and hasnt had any problems that everybody else was having. I tried to find the hffr score but couldnt. If you search there is a 74 page study done on it. Here is one of he links i found. http://georgialubepartners.com/press%20release-sustain.htm
