Thats just amazing. Even with my hi-flow cam (more cold air in, more hot air out) and coolant filter circulating coolant before the thermostat opens I don't take that long to open.

Are you sure your thermostat isn't stuck open?

I was just thinking how nice it will be to jump in the Jetta with heated seats, and have the enigne at operating temp in 2 miles, not 8!Took an amazing amount of time last year for my truck to get hot when it was single digits, thats with a full winter front and a block heater. But there isn't much heat being created when your just cruising on flat ground at 45-50.

Yes you can! --- Update to the previous post... I updated the spreadsheet to include some filters with WIF sensors, I am upgrading my system in the next month or so to include an aux fuel heater and 2nd WIF sensor.

I know the Frantz is a very efficient filter setup, but the lack of actual ratings keeps me from using one.

I do both, good full flow and good bypass..I know the Frantz says 1/2 micron, but at what percentage? Screen doors will catch 2um crap at 0.00001%.

I have never priced one, but they may be? But you would need 5-9 of them to have the same filter life as the Amsoil/Donaldson. Purolator PureONE oil filters should be replaced every 3,000 miles or 3 months depending on the driving conditions - or unless otherwise specified by the vehicle's manufacturer.

The Purolator PureOne filter is 99.9% at 20um, so probably the same as the Donaldson/Amsoil. XE stands for extra efficiency. The Wix Data is on the wix website, and the others come from previous research and data from the filter makers. IIRC the Baldwin is either 25um or 30um absolute. So better than stock, but the same or slightly less than the stratapore.

CF is an odd place, I have only been there since 06, and have no clue how to check member number but I think there were something like 3400 members when I joined. I still go on there as much as anywhere and there are certainly cliques, but I ignore them and read what I want and post what I want. I try not to post BS, and it seems to work out okay.. They are a very large site, and that has its drawbacks, and makes sites like this so much better!

Mission weights and profiles will change cruise, so its hard to pin that number down..The data on the CH-47 looks slow.

What psi is the actual wastegate? The solenoid regulates air to the WG, but the WG still takes "x" amount of boost to open right?

Looks good. I understand why OEM went to one of these on the 04.5 (better boost control across the elevation/temperature range when the ECM compares intake pressure to manifold pressure), but still am not sure why you would set one up on a truck? So enlighten me

The Blackhawk is designed to haul passengers, and the crew sit side-by side; where the Apache only holds 2, and we sit in tandem, so the shape is much different. When you compare outside dimensions is when they are very close. Speed is all relative, depending on distance, location, and what the mission is. Sometime we are faster, but most times they can out run us. All those missile and rocket pods aren't the most aerodynamic. Believe it or not but the Chinook is the fastest helo in the Army inventory.

Surprisingly not. The overall dimentions are very similar, and in most mission profiles the Apache is heavier. They also both use the same engines.

IMHO a low pressure light is a waste of $$. Spend a few more bucks and get a real gauge.
