Measurement conversion
Looking to figure out a road measurement but my calculating isn't the greatest. If I build a road 12 ft wide by 500 ft long, how many square meters would the total area be ?

Info needed Asap please fellas
Yes I was reading their info, but just a bit confused when I saw other sellers advertising the box saying it 14:1 ratio. That made me wonder is there two different boxes on the market or what ? Also, I think it was Borgenson site they say their boxes are brand new and other sites say rebuilt..wondering aout that too

Info needed Asap please fellas
So my steering has s*cked for a long time, and the other night I took it to a mechanic I feel is pretty good and knowledgeable. He checked my truck all over in the front to see what was making it wander so bad. Poped the tie rods off, checked balls joints for play and sticking, drivers side perfect, no sticking, pass side a bit up and down but no sticking. Trak bar, universal joints in the axles, tie rod, etc all good. I have the steering brace, etc. His conclusion (he drove it also), steering box was really tight feeling and a very very small bit of play in the shaft. Bearing up in the column had no play he said.. He could find nothing else wrong so he thinks put a box on it. So i'm goling to order the Borgenson and a shaft while i'm doing it. Now my question is, I am looking on the net where i'm going to order from and i'm a bit unclear... some say they are rebuilt boxes, some say brand new. Some say they have 14:1 ratio, Geno's garage claims his are 13:1 . Can someone give me the details on these boxes ? Are there two types that can be bought, are the brand new, rebuilt or what? Anyone have the full specs on them, piston size, shaft size, turns lock to lock etc? Appreciate any ino because I want to order one in the next couple of days. Thanks

Roadside Vehicle Inpections
Yes, we have them here ...not a fan of them at all. I believe in fixing my vehicle if it's unsafe, I don't believe in being hassled when i'm trying to get somewhere and have to sit on side of the road while a mecahnic trained to be as nit picky as he can get, makes a purpose of finding something wrong with my vehicle. Luckily I haven't hit one yet, but from what I hear , in my area they are out to take your vehicle off the road rather then make you aware of something you should take care of. I'd sooner have a yearly inspection back (now 2 years) then be hassled by a roadside mission. I usually take mine in yearly still just to have it gone over and make sure it's al ok

Surging revisited
Fellas, I know this most likely has been talked about and maybe way way back I even started a conversation on it, but my surging is back and i'm looking for thoughts. All summer my truck seemed to work fine with no surging, now that the weather is getting colder , i'm starting to feel it alot. Today it's about 4-5 degrees out and when driving along trying to hold a consistant speed I feel it surging up and down. If I use cruise control it maintains speed with no surging. I'm running 16-19 psi for fuel pressure always , no codes showing in the odometer. I remember last time I had issues I did a reset on the apps, even adjusted the voltage on it, took the IAT sensor out and cleaned it .I think I remember somewhere reading if it doesn't surge with cruise it's not likely the Apps Whatever I did back then it seemed to eventually go away, maybe the weather was warming up, can't remember. Anyway, I was thinking today, i wonder if possibly the IAT sensor is getting weak or bad and now that the colder weather is here it,s not registering accurate and fueling wrong

Southbend Con OFE
I don't know what I was looking at, or apparantly wasn't looking at. I saw it after I posted. Thanks for the reply though chllngr528. Not sure if my flywheel has ever been touched so when it comes time to order I may just bite the bullet and put all new in

Southbend Con OFE
I'm thinking I better start looking into a clutch for my truck, and I read Mike you have the Southbend Con OFE. I'm looking at this site here in Canada and wondering did they change it that it's not called the same anymore? All I see close is the OFEK but don't want to get the wrong set up when I order. My truck a daily driver HO with the Nv5600 6spd. Have the Edge with attitude and want something that wont slip but good for daily running. Best to go clutch/pressure plate/flywheel when buying? http://www.peakdieselperformance.com/Dodge_Clutch_South_Bend_Clutch.html

Bhaf
I used a piece of 16 gauge sheet metal and made the bottom and bent it up on the one side to make the shield from the turbo. Be careful not to use something to thick, it may interfere with the height of the Bhaf and cause the engine bonnet to hit it when you close it. I know mine rubs the hood insulation.

Rotella SAE 15W40
Yea, I agree. I said screw it and put it in. I guess it's just dealing with an expensive rebuild is bad enough, but if i'm the cause of it wearing out faster because I didn't research it I guess that would me off lol. Thanks for the reply

Rotella SAE 15W40
I've been using Shell's Rotella Triple protection 15W40 for a while now for my truck and I also use it in my tractor. So today I noticed as I was changing my tractor oil that I needed more, went to buy a 20 litre pail and they had none. They had the 9.5 litre pail and i look on the back and it says the specs listed and it includes Cummins engines. I go to a different store, same looking oil container but the back doesn't say Cummins, but it's still a Heavy Duty engine oil able to be used in Heavy equipment same as the other container says. I call Shell when I get home and they say basically it's all the same oil, they just changed the look , took the diesel writing off of it so people realize it can be used for gas engines also. My hang up is are the lesser amount of specifications it can be used for on the back saying it's not good for Cummins I wonder? I know, I called the helpline, but I'm guessing it's a call center and I don't know if i really trust what a kid at a call center is telling me soemtimes when it comes to an expensive engine

Key Switch ??
I made a trip today that's about an hour on the main highway and when I stopped I noticed my truck idling at about 900 (usually 800). Did a few errands and headed home and I got in the driveway, was idling at about i'll say 950, I shut the key off and the truck stayed running. I thought it was odd. so I went into the setting on my Edge to check to make sure the turbo cool down wasn't on. which it wasn't. Let the truck sit there for about a minute and then it shut itself down. No idea why it worked that way but more importantly, how can a person shut it down if it happens again and doesn't finally quit on it's own?

bhaf????
So , is it normal to see boost a bit slower then with the stock air box
-
bhaf????
Just installed my BHAF tonight and decided to do a heat shield. The BHAF hits just a bit on the hood insulation but doesn't seem to be hurting it. Two things I wanted to ask.....seems that it takes more acceleration to make boost now, does that seem correct? Also, any need of running the filter mnder and if so how does it come out of the stock air box? I can't seem to get it out by trying to pull it out, sure i'm just missing something tho

State Police
I have to say reason for being stopped put aside, when a policeman stops me and walks up to me I intend to treat him with respect and I would expect the same from him . Seems like alot of them unfortunatley have a pissy atitude as soon as they walk up to the vehicle due to the fact your doing something wrong. Alot of times doing that something wrong doesn't make you a bad person, it just means your lack of better judgement got the best of you
