Dead Truck
stock lift pumps=junk..the folks who engineered them should be sorry about the bad luck man...but you have come to the right place...the owner of the sight and everyone else here has helped out alot folks thru out the country..and if you are mechanically inclined and love to work on these engine you can save your self alot of "cha-ching":thumbup2:

Temp fluctuation
i see in your sig that you dont run a "box"? so you are verifying that off of the instrument cluster guage?seems like there is a key on off trick or something that when you do it...it "tachs" everything out and then goes back to zero...and this maybe on the c.r. trucks..not sure....so doing this moparman...is it recalibrating the guages per say?what if possiblely the factory guage is faulty?i would love to help get this figured out so you dont have to be "down" and be out alot of out of pocket $$...your oil level is o.k. still....see any white smoke in the last couple of days?

Temp fluctuation
did you happen to buy a new radiator cap? a 16 lbs?i did when i did my last coolant change and it flucuated alot like your saying..so i put the 15 lb cap back on and it didnt do it anymore.

Filled up with fuel tonight...
the refinery i work in has H.D.S. units...hydrogen disulphurization...just like it says..it takes the sulphur out of it...and the biggest rumor i hear why diesel is so high is because of hurricane Katrina..we have never recouped??what kind of rumor is that..and when the people you hear on the radio that try to scare folks about..oh..we are in a shortage....whatever..bout 90% of the time here...we need more tanks for storage..so sorry long folks..we will just keep praying for cheaper prices.

wasting money?
moapar said what i always do..engine..trans..coolant flush..new water pump..new colant..new t-stat..new belt...flush power steering fluid...new brake rotors and pads..front diff's...rear diff's...t-case..air filter...fuel filter{until the the fass gets installed}...run the valves to .08 and .017...that way everything is changed and there is no wondering hhhmmm..wonder if this or that was changed on a regular basis...my ..i use synthetic.

A couple of Questions......
she is good and broke in....and if you are just now getting better fuel mileage..i am gunna say you live up north somewhere and all of the winter blended diesel is finally gone..winterized fuel equals LESS m.p.g's:thumbup2:

A/C lines
has far has leaks go..when i removed the cap where you add freon...that valve core was leaking...some soap in a squirt bottle is all you need..while the truck is running with the a.c. on squirt all the connections with that to verify leaks...

VP-44 Cooler?
but another lift pump...and install "T's" before and after lift pump that is running the truck..install a toggle switch that is powered just by the battery because the one driven by the ecm will be off..and walla??maybe?

Fuel Pressure Valve
yes...if you are connected to the stock fuel filter housing and not directly to the vp..the line on the bottom of canister is a biiiig restrictor..the inside diameter super tiny..get a big line kit..1/2 lines equal alot more fuel to vp and and cooling for the computer on top of the vp!!!

Transmission identification
not 100% sure..but when in neutral..in my 47re anyway..it charges the converter...when i start mine in the mornin..especially in the winter time..i let it idle/run in neutral to let the fluid circulate.

congrates...when i had my 03 with a 6 speed..smarty..puck..tst r37..sps62...with a.c. doning the speed limit hand calculate my best was 23.8..2 wheel drive quad cab..one ton s.r.w...with 3.73's...i get a constant 20 m.pg. in my current '01 4x4 q.c.s.b. 47re 3.54's and some other stuff ..its nice to see something that weights over 7,000 lbs get good m.p.g.'s

whats neat about the edge juice with att is i can scroll thu it and look at the temp of the juice box....wonder what the temps get to inside our vp's computer?
