Ok I just came back from a 450 mile round trip and I am about to fine me some dynamite and blow this *************** thing to the moon. It is right back to surging and missing and lopeing. I cant take this crap no longer. I have spent 3500.00 in the passed 3 weeks and no head way. Ok I got new ecm and power is back and pulls great, but it still has a miss at idle, I dont know if it has miss a cruise speed or not but I do know if you put a bypass box on it it runs just fine. So where to look? I am thinking wire harness?Is wire harness two peace or single harness, in other words am I dealing with a night mare to do my self?

When buying a vp remember you get what you pay for.

If I had one of those I could have saved myself 2k. It tells you weather your vp is fried or ecm is dead or if injectors or on the blink. Very good tool to have around. Mine says P---1693 and thats it. The second time I did it all that came up was P---- Course my ecm is messed up. and all green

Yes, at the time I drove 30 mile to get there and it was missing good. Hooked up box and it ran great no miss took box off and right back to miss.

It is sporatic comes and goes. It starts after eng. gets hot. Runs great as long as it is cool, as soon as eng. warms up it starts miss.

You can tell, mine dieed on me and I sent it in and they sent me a ( looked new ) EZ for the clean and inspect cost of 99.00 and the new ones come with the power control on a cord you can mount on your dash. Pretty cool

As far as opening it, I have to send it back as a core or I guess pay 250.00 and keep it. HA HA Still have miss problem but it did go away with delet box. So I am still thinking it is elec. problem in ecm or wire harness. A few more thousand dollars and I should have it. lmao

Lots of folks run Amsoil filters with there favorite brand of oil. Amsoil makes a really good filter.

Well here it is, after the fourth ECM on my truck we tried a test ecm from cummins, and the surge that has been there for two years is gone. HEY But the miss is still there. Ok we put truck on a delete box and what that does is it bypasses the elec. in vp and bypasses the ecm, truck ran like a dream, could not belive it if I had not heard it with my own ears. So we still think there is something going on with ecm. We know for a fact it fixed the surge. Put old ecm back on and instant surge is back. Ok one thing I have learned is there are about 12 different ecms out there for a 01 so when someone tells you there all the same - there not, I found out the hard way.

Now, how do I get them thru the vp, cross over tubes, and inj.?Filler with premium pecan juice please.

Its got to be normal, mine did it for two years, changed belt, noise went away for one week. And now its back.

Not sure on the pump,it maybe a holly. I have seen them but not sure. Cruise light, look under the battery, driver side and check wires. Then again it maybe in steering wheel. Brakes, I would pull wheel and check them out and while your at it spray brake cleaner.

Yea we talked on that also. Best I know it can be reflashed to a so. So maybe it will work.

I was talking this over with someone and he said that either SO or HO may fuel more than the other.

I can not find a ecm for a 01 SO 5 speed I have found 3 01 HO ecm's. My question is can you reflash a ho ecm over to a so ecm?
