What EGT's do you all run?
I pulled a combine weight, truck, trailer, and the load - D4 dozer 32k pulling a slite hill it hit 1225 degrees. From what I been told it is safe to hit 13 to 14 for just seconds and let it cool back down. My truck is a welding truck and weighs 9800lbs and I hit 800 as a normal just going through the gears. When you say it hits a wall, will it go higher than that?

Edge Ez
Controler came in to day and there are some difference in the modles. I think the new Ez on high has more timeing noise, it may just be me. I really hope this is going to help the problems I have had in the past. The switch in the cab is nice but I have a feeling I will just leave it on high. Unless I start playing around with diff. loads and Hwy condtions. And it is a new controler they sent, I thought they would send a old dusty controler off some back road driving ranch truck. LOLFor those just tuneing in my old controler bit the dust at about 18 months and Edge sent a new one out for 99.00 service fee, new cable and all.

Edge Ez
Sounds like a good unit, and I like the switch in the cab. I always left it on high because the other settings I did not like. If your controler is like mine #1 had no power # 2 a little more power but a lot of smoke and #3 better power and less smoke.

Edge Ez
I just got off the phone with Edge and sure enough she said it had crrosion on the pins and was spreading into box. So they are going to send me one that has to have a switch in cab to switch the power levels. Suposed to be a updated model, has anyone heard of the update? This is a Edge Ez that they are sending to me.

Edge Ez
I sent the controller off to have it checked to see if there are any problems, and I got a call today that said the entire cable was corroded and corrosion was inside on the board. I think oh crap what is that going to cost? They tell me for the 99.00 fee for check up they will send a new updated controller. I guess we shall see.

Need Help !!!
This is how I have done the two wheel drives. Ok there are rivets that hold them in, take a tourch and just blow the heads off. Then center punch the rivets and drill pilot hole all the way through, then step up a couple size drill bits and drill through again. What you are doing is giveing the metal some where to go because it is real soft so it will punch right out. Let me back up a bit, dont drill all the way through the second time, you wont to stop just short of it. It gives a shoulder to use punch. It is going to work just the opizet of putting rivets in.

steel or Alum
I have a steel fuel tank that has been fueling tractors and such for 25 years and we just put a filter on it about 5 years ago. When you look down inside it has some rust but what the hey its 25 and been in the elements, you can make your mind up with this thought, alum is nothing but trash material. I have spent more time repairing alum than I care to count. Let me ask you this ,how many friends do you know that have broke alum tool boxes?I have people stop in all the time, can you weld this little spot? And I say sure no problem, that will be 45.00. and they look at me like I lost my mind and I say go by your on welder, it only run you about 3800.00. I wish I could say you bought the junk I didnt.lolBut really steel cracks less and is better quailty. It can handle being hit, bent, poked you name it. Alum is for people with money, when you buy it and when you get it repaired.

high speed miss
old vp44 needed to be replaced no dout it had little issues and stuff such as dieing for a split second then pick right back up and run, you know the little things in life that make you day. Oh yes I allmost forgot it has never thrown a code As you can see my old vp44 did the same thing and it got really bad fuel mileage.
-
Where's Einstien when you need him?
Fuel mileage with old vp was 15mpg new vp jumped to 18mpg, today I am at 14.75mpg again. What the !!!!?Possible you got a bad tank of fuel? Winterized fuels???No winter fuel in south central Tx that I know of.Deteriorated fuel pressure is with all new filters? Yes no change.I agree with the comment on checking the fuel pickup basket. They are not difficult to obstruct with crud that grows in bad fuel. That is something I thought about but didnt follow up on it. I think I will now.Going in another direction.........have you put a known accurate fuel pressure test gauge on the VP-44 schrader valve and conducted a test run? Reason I ask is that fuel isolators are NOTORIOUS for causing erroneous fuel pressure indication in the cab. I fought this very same problem with my fuel system until I replaced the fuel isolator. The origninal fuel isolator was faulty right out of the box. It would very very gradually leak between the fuel and anti-freeze side of the isolator membrane. I bought my gauge kit from Eric at Vulcan. Eric sent me a new fuel isolator, no charge and that nailed the problem. He later sent me a repair kit for the faulty isolator. I will in the morning. My fuel pump is a Airdog 100 when new it ran about 15lbs of pressure at idle, wot it was 14.50, one year later it drops to 13lbs at idle and 12.50 wot.Not normal... Unless the filter is plugging fast..Temp. yesterday when I replaced hose was about 58.I used to replace filters at every 10k but when I went to Airdog and just washed out primary filter at 10k.In the year and a half I have been running Airdog I have replaced both filters twice, and never noticed any differance or fuel pressure diffrance.Do you have the Air Dog routed through the OEM fuel cannister or directly to the VP-44? No, it is ran from tank to filters to vp44.I have a thought , is there any way the return lines in the head or the lines coming out of head get stoped up?Also I noticed a stronger fuel smell today, checked for leaks and nothing. That is what made me think return line stoped up.I tried to answer questions in order
